I am a Christian and a pastor's wife... I found this very interesting, especially being that 'Reiki' translates to 'God's Wisdom'.... and as a Christian I believe that I have the gift of healing in my hand's, because of the Lord's power... This is just the ancient Japanese way of doing the very same thing I'd do if I were praying for someone or myself... I found it amazing and peaceful... beautiful.
Well, Reynaldo, I think as we grow and walk with the Lord, we see things a little differently than we may have at first… I'm not saying that I practice this, but I definitely see a strong correlation, and have a great love for people of different faiths and practices. :)

I do not deny the effectiveness of chemo-therapy, for what it is. However, I do believe that our current model of cancer treatment still represents a fundamental misunderstanding about what cancer is. People need to know about how energetic imbalances in their body lead to diseases such as cancer. My individual health depends on how I treat myself. Thus, "treat"ment begins LONG before I get cancer :P. If people were willing to monitor their own energetic state cancer would be much reduced.
Reiki is love and how do you prove that? By opening your heart to the possibility. By giving and recieving. I have practiced Reiki for more than ten years and I am a nurse, a very scientific mind. Chemo/ Radiation is about as effective as using a blowtorch to get rid of the weeds in my garden. Sure, the weeds die, but so does everything else, and eventually, the weeds just grow back. And then what? bust out the blowtorch again! Also, Reiki HAS been verified by science and science's understanding of energy healing techniques continues to grow. I can feel the energy between my 2 hands very well when I rub them . And distiguish the location of energy balls. How do I get from here, to any noticable effects?

By energy balls im talking about when you cultivate balls of energy between your hands that feels like a magnetic repulsion effect. and being able to distinguish the location of them when your eyes are closed. I try to meditate for about 30 minutes everyday. my body gets very relaxed but im not sure if anything is happening, how do you know?

Reiki represents the flow of energy so it can prevent negative waves and energy flowing through your body, which actually prevents cancer....and other desaeses.... If you had time to think about it before you typed this, you would figure it out yourself. Great number of ilnesses comes through negative enrgy our body receives, everydaystresses and problems.... if you practise reiki, or anything that will make you erase those things you will feel better with less negativity in you.....

Breathing itself is an art. The first of which is to feel your body breathing in and out. In the beginning how you breath is not important just be aware of your breath. Feel the energy, the power, the strength, the confidence of something yet so natural and real; breath and its union with life. Once this awareness comes into fruition try to intentionally and slowly breathe in through the nose. Breathe as deep as you comfortably can. Pause for a second then slowly release back out preferably through nose but in beginning most are comfortable with outward expression through the mouth. Breathe in positive energy is a basic step to become familiar with and breathe out (even if you are not aware of any, its the intention) negative or toxin type of energy. Once you become familiar learn the chakras. Chakras are made up of imo universal and cosmic energy. Color is a part of creation by the mhz of energy carried from point a to b. How are you with light? Feel you are not good with light? Every one is good with their light (it is their innate gift) if you just learn to get out of your own way. Truly is that simple. Do you feel energy with hands? Thats a great start! Energy is energy, become familiar with and unite with if it feels good. Have fun and when you are ready then set out to ask more questions. The goal with breathing, once you get united with it, is one thing. You control your breathing. Breathing should not control you. You notice how when someone is upset their breathing is short and quick. Another person very comfortable and at ease follows a slow, deep rhythmic breathing pattern. Many lessons to be learned. You already know these things though. Listen to your rhythm and allow your beingness to determine the next step and the next step and the next step.

What a lot of people don't understand about subtle energy is that it's too sensitive for any scientific instruments to detect. It's very possibly beyond the range of gamma ray detection. The human consciousness is subtle energy. This discussion about it though is futile. The only way to prove reiki is to experience it yourself. I've used it for myself for and I Know it is TRUTH. The truth is what you know, not what you are told. Animals also love reiki. My cats love it. Have a session :)
Who is charging who out the ass for anything? The information in this video is free and is highly empowering. Where is the scam? I have applied principles of energy work to myself and I am pleased with the results. I will continue to cultivate my abilities and improve myself, my attitudes, and the way i treat people. If charging "them" out the ass and overstating the benefits is what makes a scam, then cancer treatment is much closer to being a scam than free energy healing techniques.
And by the way, I've been into meditation for years and is amazingly pleasant, calming and makes me ecstatically happy. All these psychological effects are great, maybe I'll have low blood pressure when I get older or something because I'm so chilled out, but i don't see how meditation (or reiki) can HEAL me of any appreciable medical ailment.

At any rate, to the non-believers, instead of simply throwing insults on something you never experienced, try experiencing it yourself first -- if doing it by yourself doesn't work, then get someone experienced to help you with it. It's true that there are a lot of false methods of healing which seems to work but only because of time, but not all of them are false. The false ones usually wants money. So think before you talk.

to coopstah When you are dealing in the spirit, there is no room for logic or reason. You either belive or you dont. If you want to believe, then I suggest you search for the answers yourself. No one can give you a logical reason. The answers will come from your own personal experiences. Its worked for me. It helped my mother through her chemotherapy. I really saw the before and after difference in her. I know it works for me and I have seen it work for others as well.
@Bowerstone1th Some people find it more difficult than others to understand and feel their spiritual energy. Just have faith in yourself. Sit somewhere in your room but before ask your roommates/family/friends gently not to bother you for a couple hours. Close your eyes and try to notice your health, your love, your fear...Try to meditate for a while. You can find the really important answers in yourself, just try it. We're all one, friend.

I'm glad you take measures to reduce stress in your life to manage your chronic illness, Nancy. It is very important. But my point is simply... if it is simply stress that reiki alleviates, why not go to the spa, chill out and get a massage instead? Or take a vacation? As for martial artists, I question their claims to chi as much as reiki's claims to ki. In both cases there is no evidence of a life-energy. We don't need ki since we can explain the function of living things without it. Thanks.
@temp911Luke again, what Father Jeremy Davies and the Church itself might have against Reiki is the fact that some people bundle up all the New Age technicques and mix them to come up with a new way of spiritualism - which is pretty much occultism. I agree on that, ofc i do! But Reiki as a form of massage therapy is completely ok and the Church itself encourages motivation for ill people - a positive state of mind, for example, is vital in curing cancer. want anymore data?
I don't know if reiki truly works but I do know for a fact that there are things in this world which cannot be proven by science because they are of a spiritual nature. As much as atheists try to ignore it or disprove it, the truth is that there IS spiritual stuff going on in the world.

Unfortunately the research into such things hasn't been properly funded so... not much in the way of physical evidence. It's mostly personal testimonies which are dodgey at best.

You create satan through how you present him. I allow myself to understand the goodness in what seems to be evil. And when I find the positive parts: I encourage them. So basically you are saying it is the placebo effect, and anything that makes you believe you are feeling better will cause you to feel better, since you believe in it.
Doesn't the influence of our consciousness on the human body deserve to be more rigorously explored? Those who deny the Inner Reality have literally created a wall between themselves and being able to use energy working techniques. Many scientists and highly mental people stay in the head and have not taken the time to cultivate the inner science of their consciousness. Thus their results are often inconclusive and they continue to deny their own ability. The cycle reinforces itself.
However, since the placebo could be anything - even something ridiculous like placing a marble in your navel - so long as the patient believes it is treatment it could potentially provoke a pain-relief response. But then why all the hocus-pocus about 'energy' or 'ki' that no one can detect? And why make the claims of healing diseases when at best you're getting the effect of a painkiller. Why the hocus-pocus and misleading claims? I don't get it... maybe someone can explain it to me? Thanks!

The human consciousness is subtle energy. This discussion about it though is futile. The only way to prove reiki is to experience it yourself. I've used it for myself for and I Know it is TRUTH. I have applied principles of energy work to myself and I am pleased with the results. I will continue to cultivate my abilities and improve myself, my attitudes, and the way i treat people.
If charging "them" out the ass and overstating the benefits is what makes a scam, then cancer treatment is much closer to being a scam than free energy healing techniques.

And by the way, I've been into meditation for years and is amazingly pleasant, calming and makes me ecstatically happy. All these psychological effects are great, maybe I'll have low blood pressure when I get older or something because I'm so chilled out, but i don't see how meditation (or reiki) can HEAL me of any appreciable medical ailment.

At any rate, to the non-believers, instead of simply throwing insults on something you never experienced, try experiencing it yourself first -- if doing it by yourself doesn't work, then get someone experienced to help you with it.
It's true that there are a lot of false methods of healing which seems to work but only because of time, but not all of them are false. The false ones usually wants money.
So think before you talk.

The first part went something like this: I came accross an article at physorgdotcom which says that the Placebo Effect is caused in the brain that when someone believes a treatment works, the brain produces opiates to reduce the pain. This could well be what happens in reiki. This means it may not be the reiki working but the brains belief that it does. Continue above...

When you are dealing in the spirit, there is no room for logic or reason. You either belive or you dont. If you want to believe, then I suggest you search for the answers yourself. No one can give you a logical reason. The answers will come from your own personal experiences. Its worked for me. It helped my mother through her chemotherapy. I really saw the before and after difference in her. I know it works for me and I have seen it work for others as well.

Some people find it more difficult than others to understand and feel their spiritual energy.
Just have faith in yourself. Sit somewhere in your room but before ask your roommates/family/friends gently not to bother you for a couple hours.
Close your eyes and try to notice your health, your love, your fear...Try to meditate for a while.
You can find the really important answers in yourself, just try it.

This is what I wrote in one of my comments earlier today; If you want to be deceived and indoctrinated well that is ok for me which means that YOU and every other person on planet Earth can choose how to live their lives and believe in what they want .. what I want to say is that you should be observant and look on healing with critical eyes. This is my opinion my views on the matter.

I'm glad you take measures to reduce stress in your life to manage your chronic illness, Nancy. It is very important. But my point is simply... if it is simply stress that reiki alleviates, why not go to the spa, chill out and get a massage instead? Or take a vacation?
As for martial artists, I question their claims to chi as much as reiki's claims to ki. In both cases there is no evidence of a life-energy. We don't need ki since we can explain the function of living things without it. Thanks.

@temp911Luke again, what Father Jeremy Davies and the Church itself might have against Reiki is the fact that some people bundle up all the New Age technicques and mix them to come up with a new way of spiritualism - which is pretty much occultism. I agree on that, ofc i do! But Reiki as a form of massage therapy is completely ok and the Church itself encourages motivation for ill people - a positive state of mind, for example, is vital in curing cancer. want anymore data?

I don't know if reiki truly works but I do know for a fact that there are things in this world which cannot be proven by science because they are of a spiritual nature.

Don't let them bug you Coopstah, cynicism is a virtue. I have preformed chi healings for many years now and I can tell you this, it is more than a psychological placebo. Unfortunately the research into such things hasn't been properly funded so... not much in the way of physical evidence. It's mostly personal testimonies which are dodgey at best.

@temp911Luke, by thinking of satan you welcome him into your life. When you write like that, it shows that you even allow yourself to spread such a negative, bad message full of fear. You create satan through how you present him.
I allow myself to understand the goodness in what seems to be evil. And when I find the positive parts: I encourage them. Converting the evil into Love, Positivity, Peace, Happiness :)
The distance from "evil" to "becoming good" is very short.

So basically you are saying it is the placebo effect, and anything that makes you believe you are feeling better will cause you to feel better, since you believe in it.
Doesn't the influence of our consciousness on the human body deserve to be more rigorously explored?
Those who deny the Inner Reality have literally created a wall between themselves and being able to use energy working techniques. Many scientists and highly mental people stay in the head and have not taken the time to cultivate the inner science of their consciousness. Thus their results are often inconclusive and they continue to deny their own ability. The cycle reinforces itself.
However, since the placebo could be anything - even something ridiculous like placing a marble in your navel - so long as the patient believes it is treatment it could potentially provoke a pain-relief response. But then why all the hocus-pocus about 'energy' or 'ki' that no one can detect? And why make the claims of healing diseases when at best you're getting the effect of a painkiller. Why the hocus-pocus and misleading claims? I don't get it... maybe someone can explain it to me? Thanks!
