A tip with HEATFS, I like to use HEATFS as a replacement for HE on AA. I almost rarely never one shot AA with HEATFS. It just helps having something that can pen armor without problem, and having something that can get rid of AA. Especially a HEATFS that can overpressure.
Yeah but are you willing to risk it on going you reload the HE fast enough?
@@Optimaloptimus most tanks I use have a big enough HEATFS to get the job done. Only times that they don’t is when they are really armored, like the kugel. Trucks, Gatling gun aa, or open top are always a one shot. Haven’t had a problem honestly. To answer your question yeah, I’d still use HEATFS, small gun HE won’t kill a kugel I don’t think, nor a gepard
Another tip is to take a gander at the different tanks, etc reload times. You can always get a estimate guess of how long they take
The Sands of Sinai, the same side your team spawned, take the right spawn point, and climb onto the very side onto the hill that overlooks c,b and a. It’s a beautiful sniping spot. No one really suspects it unless they’ve gone to it. I’ve played my M60 and my PantherA and gotten so many kills it was awesome

at 4:45 the commander in the T-34-85 is the gunner, which is why they didn't move the turret
nice observation, its T34-85 D-5T which sits at 5.3 having only 4 crew instead of 5 in T34-85. This thing is a beast.
This thing sitting at 6.3 may be due to the fact that it uses HEATFS, not having a turret and no armor

SU-85M at 5.0 is a meme dream as well. Angle the front and you can bounce Tiger and Panther shells. SU-100 at 6.0 clubs pretty hard in down tiers because you can UFP Jumbos and Panthers.
It is one of those glass cannon type vehicles that do very well with a skilled player using it who does not get shot by manouvering well around the map and knowing where to hit enemies with heatfs but is absolute garbage in the hands of an unexperienced player who just spawns it as a backup for his kingtigers with God tier aphe and armour. Getting used to the zoom is also difficult. When I first picked it up I often died because I scoped in and lost the tank I was aiming at at close ranges. Even if I hit it would often not do enough damage and it absolutely cannot survive a hit by most things at its br. It has enough frontal armor to stop. 50cals but it also sets off aphe most of the time.
1:23 The turret is a fine place to make the first shot cus it means that you most likely take out his gun breach, but as you said: in THAT specific moment an upper plate shot would have been better, pretty much only because he had an easy escape route into cover.
(taking out the gun first shot can be really good in other situations since heatfs in some cases only take out the driver.)
A couple years ago when I was trash, I almost got a nuke with it on a night battle. Its the best mid tier TD Germany has.

is it? i suppose the APHE is nice, but iirc this thing is 50 cal resistant from the front while the m56 gets dusted by 7.62s. then again, the aphe is nice
This tank is legendary on the super long range maps such as the open desert one. You can just use your gun depression and the high velocity heat rounds to nail people from 1000+ meters and they can’t see you

It got nerfed actually, it had 50mm of frontal armor, now it has 30mm so it became vulnerable to some autocannons too, because some times it would even bounce the 75mm on the jumbo.
(The jumbo that's 5.7 for some reason)
If you like this, you should (at some point in the future) try the Lorrain CA in the French Techtree which is in my opinion a straight upgrade at 6.0

It's the Ru 251 without a turret is what it is. this thing (along with the RU 251) should be the same RB if not .3 lower than the Leopard 1. makes no sense that this is 6.3 and the Ru 251 USED to be 6.7 and it was fucking nuts. Gaijin really doesn't understand why things like this should NOT face Tigers, T34s and whatnot at this BR. not sure why they keep doing that but it's Gaijin so who knows

It used to be 7.0, and people complained about how terrible it was hence the br change. I remember thinking "the brs for this and the ru 251 should be switched, the ru 251 is faster than this with a turret." Though I never had any issues getting at least 3 kills per game with it, and it remains one of my favorite vehicles in the game.
If you have problems with map knowledge, drive around and dont camp because you wont know the line of sights across the map. And also if you want to see targets easier, just pute the graphics down to minimum, it helps REALLY MUCH!
I'd love to see more content around this tier, and planes would be interesting as well

Not sure if you know but you can get backups in the warbond shop without spending real money. I usually have atleast 50 stockpilled and use them all the time

If you're wondering why this thing is at 6.3, should ask why the Ikv 103 is at 4.0 in the Sweden tech tree
I question that as well but for me when I was grinding it stock this vehicle sucks SO badly mainly due to the gun travers, but once I spaded it was a completely different vehicle. I definitely think it needs to go up in BR and if not BR, rank would definitely help.
idk why but when i firt unlocked this tank i thought i was getting the RU 251 and remembered seeing RU 251 drive FAST AF places and this thing wasn't super quick and I was puzzled then I realized i'm not thinking of the right tank and I am now in a tank I truly had no idea what it was.
I never researched it, I mean you got a lot of armor and amazing APHEs in that BR bracket, this thing is so much different, and my noob brain was like "why I ever use this trash".
I recommend giving it a try! Just don't use it in CQC like I did 😂

if u bring it in a 6.7 lineup, its specially effective in uptiers, against IS3-IS4-M103-T32-T32E1, when long 88 start to lose its edge.
JPZ needs an expert crew ! It bumps its stats so much, it's a new tank !
Try remembering the ammo placement on different nation's tanks. Very useful if you use HEAT especially M-51.

ngl ive sent 2 HEATFS shells with this against the ammo box in the back of the SU-100P and did nothing, it was probably a good call to not shoot it cause it wouldnt hit on the crew
People do not play with it very well and most people just hold w and hope for the best so yea

to be fair if it's a soviet tank with 4 crew and you hit the side of the turret with a heat shell you're almost garuanteed a 1 hit
This thing having stock APCR while being a casemate made it a poor 7.3 back in the day (at least I think it was 7.3) and so they decided to go the other way with it I guess.

To say this belongs at 6.3 is stupid.
There is a SU-122-54 at 6.7, it has the Hull from the t54 and also shoots Heat-FS Like the JPZ 4-5. (as its called in war Thunder)
So the JPZ 4-5 should at least be at 6.7 together with the SU-122-54. sure it has less armor, „worse gun“ but it has better mobility and a better reaload.

Next tank you should try is Swedish Ikv 103 at 4.0. Personally I love taking it to ~8.0.

Slower speed, slower shoots and that it got less tracktion compared to before, that is now over a year ago

definedly better than other similar 6.3 br vehicles. for example: asu-85 is similar, but just way worse in every single way.
I don’t want to say it’s garbage but it’s somewhat very close to it. I guess its BR is derived purely from its HEATFS shell and decent movement speed. The rest of it is a joke and other german vehicles at similar BRs will just do better. Tbh, I can’t remember anyone killing me with this thing even once when I played for USSR or USA (minding that they are also rare to come across due to their unpopularity). I remember that I was excited when I researched it cause it looked too modern for its BR and grinded the HEATFS but after several games in it I quickly abandoned it for good cause it was nothing but pain and somehow its HEATFS shells were super inconsistent (compared to say 2s1 or M51).
2:45 that Asu has scout on it, so you prob on the map by then.
It's 6.3 because newcomers suffer in it with stock HESH shell bombarding overall statics of this vehicle

Youre playing it wrong, you dont rush in like a heavy tank. You sit at distance and hide, use that HEATFS to pen through everything and just dont get hit.
