The Cromwell V RP-3 in War Thunder is a British Tank with some rockets on the side of the turret. The Cromwell RP-3 is basically the tech tree vehicle with the added spice of having some APHE rockets that although are difficult to aim are actually very destructive.
Britain has no lack of really goofy tanks these days. The Cromwell RP-3 was the very first derp vehicle but since the Churchill Crocodile and Churchill AVRE, I suppose this little guy has been overlooked.
With no stabilizer, 100mm of penetration and solid shot... this tank is pretty difficult to master especially when your reverse gear is practically non-existent.
Regardless of its short comings, it's pretty fun to play! :)

RBT5 is one of the most legendarily fun vehicles in warthunder. Completely not worth the money but it is a hell of a blast to play.

btw the Cromwells turret armour is actually 13mm thicker all round than it says ingame, it has a 13mm internal "shell" where the riveted external armour you see ingame is mounted onto. Dosent change a whole lot, but the armour is a bit better than it seems and its just a unique design
the cromwell plays like a combo from a fighting game: it goes great until you mess up, then it's probably over.
I don’t know about anyone else’s experience, but for its BR the Cromwell is surprisingly survivable, especially compared to other British tanks. Its armors not good on paper, but it’s worked pretty well for me when Ive played it. The 57mm Cromwell 1 is the one to play though.
I like it too, especially the one with the stabilizer. And the speed...

The F8F-1 Bearcat just got dropped to 4.7, making it even more of a monster in the right hands. Sounds like the perfect excuse to take it out for a CAS video.

That's my favourite British tank, I'm a sucker for the Cromwells and crusaders, and those rockets have saved me on multiple occasions
Even though I don’t buy premium vehicles I appreciate the cool *british* (for fucking once) ground vehicles that are being added
I wish they'd add the Staghound "Tulip" so we could get a vehicle that can aim the RP-3s vertically as well. It is satisfying when you slam on your breaks and point blank someone with the RP-3s on this.
Glad you came round on the Cromwell it didn't look great when I first looked at it in the tree but I think it has just enough armour and damage on top of some decent speed that just makes it really lethal
Those two German tank destroyers sitting there obliviously looking at the enemy spawn while you have a stand-off on the cap right behind them just sums up the War Thunder experience perfectly.
Do bring out the 6-pounder Cromwell too some time. It does have stabilized gun as you said and even better power/weight ratio.
I love to take that out together with the 47mm Tempest V, which is a beast on its own - it may be solid shot, but it's 36 big, high-pen rounds *per gun* mounted on a fast aircraft (duh, it's a Tempest at 3.7). It has great staying power and if you have allies that can clean up after you, it really can turn matches.
Glad to see at least one warthunder youtuber has the courage to play the cromwell.
The Sea Hurricane Mk IC is actually pretty fun if you know how to fly them, but it struggles more than a spitfire when facing multiple opponents. I'd like the Hurricane Mk IIC as it'd maintain the four cannons while also having some bombs.
I don't know if people tell you this often but you're an inspiration to my vision challenged self and you're also hilarious
the secret to good cromwell performance is using its decent speed and acceleration to find a good spot to wait in ambush, pick your moment, and the rush people from the side or back. It's not a medium tank, it's a light with weight issues and no spotting.
I love playing the Cromwell RP-3. It takes a lot of practice to get used to angling the rockets. I find the best tactic is to disable with the solid shot then finish off with the rocket. They all fly in slightly different directions too, so knowing which one is firing is essential for accuracy.
I love the cromwell, you play it similar to a MBT, average armour, average gun, and very fast.
meanwhile MBTs: Basically all have the same gun, are all very fast, and most have the similar armour

Btw they actually sold some Charioteers and Comet-tanks yesterday in Finland. The Finnish army used them for a few years after the war.

I guess the rockets really do have a steep learning curve if even Odd struggles with them.
Triple ace in that last game was impressive, a vehicle I have fun in is the British premium Corsair and I usually don't enjoy playing the Corsair but at it's br it can be fun probably because in most games I've been in the enemy are in bi planes

Honest to God, favorite tank in War Thunder!!! With the RBT-5 as a very close runner up.
I'm not claiming it's good but I really like the Firecrest. The fast firing m3 brownings and the Bristol Centarus engine just make this thing really neat for it's br
I always liked the Calliope more if I want to play with rockets. Even if they’re not great for getting kills all the time, they make a great smoke screen when needed. Being able to aim them helps too. I think they had strapped these to Firefly Sherman’s too, sad to see there isn’t one of them to play with.
The combination of luck and skill (mostly skill, of course) was a fantastic display in the last match❤😮

It seems like the Cromwell is "just fast enough" to give you luck and have people mess up their snap fires / get you into position to save your butt
I saw someone for a video have background footage of the Yak-141, and I then remembered that it was completely forgotten about. Could we see a video on it?
Same with the Yak-38 and the other Russian VTOL aircraft in the air tech tree.
Ive had good luck with the crownwell, bouncing shots id never expect.
Dont get me wrong, SARC bobble head is my 3.3 go to, but the crownwell can hold its own.
The British 75mm isn't very fun to use due to the awful post pen damage, but it's actually a nightmare when you're in the Churchill VII.
you hit so many shots while moving because cristie suspension is so good.
try the T-34 series, they are amazing

You should revisit the French LVT 4/40. It was an overpowered monster on release at 2.3, and now it sits at 3.7. side note, its very fun to bait planes with the 40mm then when they dive on you unleash the coax twin 50 cals
Pairs nicely with the Hellcat
For my tank suggestion I'd like to see the Magach 3 (ERA). I've never seen anyone use it or talk about it for quite a long time now, but my personal experience with it is that it's can be quite a survivable bunker with ERA at 8.0.
Here's an idea. The XM-Abrams or the M1A1 AIM and using the worst shell and full Ammo load for more ammo racked deaths to suffer. [Yes, I'm a Sadist whom enjoys the Ammo rack deaths.]

It's better than sherman when it comes to brawling, because it has some trully trolly armor though. It can BOUNCE.

Yesterday I had a wonderful game with the zerstorer (pardon me butchering it) the German 6.0 AA tank with 4 30mm drum fed cannons, and while protecting my teams cap I got 6 tank kills including an assist on an IS2 that I kept tracking, I’d love to see a video of you using it as a pure TD lol

Might get hate for this vehicle, but Ive recently been trying to use it and just wanna see what a massively more skilled player than me would do with it (Besides leave it rotting in the tech tree). But if you could ever bring yourself to play the AMX-10M Id be greatly appreciative.

Edit: 30:22 The KV-2 wasn't firing HE, that's how you survived. It glanced off the side of your turret. A HE round probably wouldn't have bounced.
i honestly kinda prefer the 75mm, better HE and a lil more spall imo

Please consider the Pz 2 50mm scout rmk, it is fantastic now since its Br remained the same as old 50mm Puma. Excellent CAS sp farmer.
I recommend you try out the Tandem MAI. I recommend using in in ground battles because, well, it ain't a nimble plane

Technically the the Cromwell V should get M61 APHE not just M61 solid shot seeming that that brits did use the M61 with APHE later in the war. Unfortunately gaijin refuses the idea and so the Cromwell I remains the better choice with the 6pndr AT gun

You have played this version before on the channel, it was just a long time ago, like three or so years back? Pre pc woes at the very least... I watched it again recently iirc, you played on the desert map with the coastal town and the bridge on the other flank... You got yourself ambushed by a T34 and some other tank, having had your rp3s ammo racked I think

Odd could you take a very low BR into super high BR ? How much of a BR split could you do and still be effective ? I think you clowning on high BR in a low BR would be fanatic !

BRs aren't elo tiers, they're tech tiers. Play at whatever BR you find most interesting.
