Dear doctor, In regards to the LORs, are we allowed to influence the contents of them even though we are waiving our right to view them? For a couple of mine, I picked dentists that I trust and specifically asked them not to share any of the contents with me and to be as honest as possible about my strengths and weaknesses. Is that not the optimal way to go about it?

No I didn't. But it's a good time if you can get good score on adat. That will strengthen your application
