Cant thank you enough!....I've been working out all these permutations for some time in deciding what options to go with and this was perfect . Thx again
Super informative! The 12 fret parlour's bridge... Is it situated lower down like on e.g. Larry OO? BTW great clip showing EIR straight after Bubinga. The mellower trebles of bubinga sound nicer .
If you take a look at Boucher's website you'll see that the parlor does have the bridge positioned a bit lower relative to the 000. I haven't had the chance to play the parlor. Three parlors are coming in the fall!
Very good review of Boucher Guitars and the variety of different models available, I own a Boucher SG-42, it's my favorite of all my guitars, Boucher the perfect guitar 🎸!
This was helpful but was also hoping to see in "Wood Choices" some info on the different grades of Spruce tops offered. Is it just either AAAA and Master Grade Adi? Thanks again.
I appreciate the explanations of the letter an number coding, but I noticed there is a mistake in labelling on your video at 3:32 where 16 is labelled as 'Highly figured Walnut 16 ' and not as stated in the audio 'Highly figured Maple 16'. Thought you'd like to update this. Cheers
I've always felt that one advantage on a 12 fret 000 was not only in the longer, narrower upper bout, but that the bridge would be placed a bit lower (farther from soundhole) on the lower bout. But that doesn't seem to be the case on Boucher?
That is correct. I thought all 12 frets where that way as well, before the Boucher 000, and I was skeptical. The tone difference between the 12 fret and 14 fret Boucher is noticeable. It's like a hallway like effect. There is just a bit more room for the sound to move around before it hits your hears. I love it.
Where can I purchase a GR-HG-166-T? Also, is it possible to get a torrified curly maple or is flamed maple the only back and sides used for this parlor style of guitar? Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Mary
I own a BG-42-GM and a SG-122-M. I think I have played a SG-51-V, GR-BG-152-G, PS-SG-162, GR-HG-166-T, SG-42-GM, and a BG-52-B in addition to the guitars I own. They were all fantastic. I have a suspicion that the PS-SG-163 would be dangerous to try if you don't want a new guitar though.
Doubt that, authentic as are great but Boucher is boutique they only make a couple hundred per year Martin (even the authentic) is a factory guitar making hundreds of thousands per year
I bought a studio mahogany dreadnaught goose waaaay back when almost no one had heard of these great guitars....have never heard or played a sub par one. I have two pickups in mine ( an L.R. Baggs lyric and an L.R. Baggs M1 passive soundhole pickup I blend together ). Best sounding guitars I have ever heard ( apart from my own , and I've played these as well ) are the twelve fret non cutaway HG 56 and HG 46 ( mahogany or rosewood ). That's the last guitar on my bucket list ( I have 30 guitars fyi ). Anyone wanna buy me an HG 46 or 56???????
Really well made and so helpful!

Yes that's correct. I'll be doing a video on all the option packages as well.

Good eye! I wish I could edit videos once they are posted. But, alas, that mistake shall remain forever.
Love my SG OM. Not sure I will ever need another, but if I do, it will be a Boucher

I could be wrong Mary, but I believe the guitar you have named IS actually the torrified maple body...

I have a BG 52 G. Very nice guitar but my Martin D28 Authentic 1937 beats it volume and resonance-wise.
