    I’m a Chinese guy in China mainland at the moment, yet this is the first time I know how self-heating hot pot works, haha, I guess I should get one from the supermarket or make an order online. Excellent video, thank mate !

    Even if the dishes weren't overwhelming, the science of the self heating pot is intriguing. I have to try these! 🙂

    I’ve brought these before when travelling .I learnt the Korean version of self heating hotpots etc are better .Janice you can get them on Pitt street in Korea town just past world square ... but honestly nothing beats a proper sit down hotpot haha.

    These instant foods are enough to buy an actual takeout meal. They’re definitely more for backup when you are on trips.
    Thanks for trying them and letting us know what they’re like, Janice.

    • @JaniceFung
      @JaniceFung  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they are each about 10 bucks

      I also live in Australia, and in my area, they're about half the price of a takeout meal (each pot is ~7-8 AUD whereas a takeway is ~15-16 AUD on average, a takeaway rice pot would cost over 20 AUD). So my boyfriend and I would eat these sometimes when we're broke at the end of the month and we don't want instant noodles or if we just want a quick and easy small meal

    Do they sell just the heating bag at the Asian store? I can see that being very useful for cooking on the go or outdoors with fresh ingredients if you don’t have the carry space for a stove top or don’t want to light fires to cook.

      @@JaniceFung thats cause the rice is already cooked and freeze dried so the water your actually adding is re-hydrating the rice.

      I was referring to the instant noodles. They’re like a higher echelon of instant noodle and come with Chinese condiments like pickled veges and fried tofu pieces.
      There’s a variety of brands these days. You should definitely do a vid. Not enough people know what they’re missing.

    Scary how much plastic is used in each package. Plastic inside plastic inside plastic =o.
    Also scary when you know millions of people will buy this for the trend... Maybe people should stick to buying local produce and investing in a hot pot of their own? This would be perfect for my earthquake kit LOL. Hahah..thanks for sharing with us though!
