I use an old 051 Sthil on our old chainsaw mill. Your mill is very well engineered Andreas. Have a blessed night!

I'm sorry, but the idea of a chainsaw mill is that you can easily take it to your tree, fell the tree, and make boards on the spot, no tractor needed to move the trees. If you're going to make something this size I'd really suggest a Swing Blade mill. You will save in effort, time, blade cost, and material loss due to blade thickness.
Hey Andreas. I have a Logosol myself with a chainsaw.. I really like the electrical saw (you have) but unfortunately it is not available in North America! Greetings from Nova Scotia!
If you place boards under the feet of the sawmill you’ll experience it more stable and won’t wobble as much, also, have a look at the rubber wheels under the sled. They seem to be stuck and probably worn. Replace them and you will have a much easier time moving the sled. And for safety, wear chainsaw pants as well instead of standing that wide. Are you using a Logosol F2 mill? I have a full size M8 mill, which is an older model. I like your electric saw chainsaw, but it is way out of my price range, so I am using a Stihl MS660 chainsaw.
Some of mine is F2 parts. I bought an a old used one from a guy that didn't get any good results out of the mill. I kept the aluminum profile that the saw was running on and the saw that I fixed so it was running well. The legs and the risers and stock holders are F2. Wouldn't afford buying a new electric saw from Logosol either. Have a great Sunday
@@offgridswedenGreetings from Indiana. Could the crank be adapted to a cordless drill to power it? Looks like Carmel Tunnel Syndrome waiting to happen.
No, that's not possible. There are systems to automatically pull the saw but those cost around $1000. A cordless drill drives to hard, it don't adjust the speed depending on how much resistance there is in the log and how easy the chain cuts. Have an awesome Thursday!
The electrical source is 400v and it pulls about 3,5 amp. The solar array I got has 46 solarpanels and produces about 14 kW. But that is on the other homestead. Have an amazing weekend.
Nja, det funkar inte riktigt. Man måste ha känslan. Annars blir det vågiga brädor. Finns tillsats för automatik med inbyggd känsla men det är dyrt. Ha en fantastisk torsdag!

It's Pinus sylvestris or Scots Pine in English. It might be good for some furniture. I use it to build buildings and repair our old house. The dimensions I need can't be bought in Sweden. Have a great weekend
Love the set up , i have a gas powered band saw mill and it has it's good points but have one with an electric motor seems more friendly , and your blades seem to go through so easily ? are they designed for this type of cutting ?
Thanks Eric. It's a really nice setup. The blades are designed for this type of cutting and they are really thin. I keep them really sharp as well. Got a video on how to sharpen them as well. Have an amazing Tuesday man!
I have adjusted the sliders on the saw and it's more exact now. I'm using a really thin chain and bar as well. For larger slabs you will use a thicker bar and chain. Have an amazing week man!
Yea, not the first time I had that suggestion. I would like an automated system for it but it costs about $2000. A cordless drill don't work. You can't get it to move at the right speed and right preasure against the wood. But it would be much cheeper if it worked. Have an amazing weekend man!
When I bought the electric saw it came with the homemade red stand. It was hard to work with that so I replaced it with the stand in the video. Have a great Monday man!
@@offgridsweden looks interesting, I've just got a logosol timber jig with rail. I'm planning on building my own frame. Any chance of some close ups of the lift mechanism? Cheers
Thanks for watching. Most logs I can and a few I have to cut short. But there is no big problem getting them on the mill. Have an amazing weekend Jimmy!
dont rev the chainsaw with the chainbrake on, not good for the clutch. also let the saw warm up for a minute before cutting. all parts are cold and will wear down much faster when you do that. and i would have replaced that crank handle with a cordless drill. much easier.
Thanks for the tip about the chainsaw. To replace the crank handle with a cordless drill wouldn't be a good idea. The saw will cut uneven and you get small waves in the bords. There is an add on to have it cut automatic but it's to expensive. I get a good workout 😁 Have a great weekend.
great weekend to you to. altough i would like to share my opinion about crank handle/ cordless drill. when you are cranking it you are emitting a force in 2 ways every turn (by your own arm pulling the crank down and up), a drill would only force it one way since its a constant and equal motion from begin to finish. but ofcourse i could be wrong, im in the process of making something like that myself with a drill attachement, so hopefully ill find out soon :D
I have a Jonsered mill made in Sweden that uses an 89 cc Jonsered or Husqvarna (un modified saw) that runs on wheels on rails at ground level so the logs don't have to be lifted - much simpler and more economic system (but they don't make them anymore)
@@offgridsweden ok maybe 100 k was stretching it but I'm sure that tractor is 30 k and how much for the 6 wheeler? Another 15 k. Just saying not everyone is capable of spending that. Please don't take offense I meant none. It's a great video. Just out of reach for most. Have a great day

Hvor sammenleggbar er dette sagbruket? Altså, hvor liten plass tar den når den lagres, og hvor har du kjøpt dette sagbruket? Om du skjønner hva jeg mener.
Kenneth Stensrud Thanks for the comment. The rail is about 6 meter long so that takes up that place. The other parts can be taken apart so it don't take any room at all. I got the room so I store it without taking it apart. I got it from the company Logosol logosol.se The models they have now are even better than mine. Have an awesome Wednesday.
A bit late, but ain’t the “saw rail” separable at the middle making it only 2 Swedish meters as it’s longest part, and the wood “table” on which you place the log on that is shaped like a “ h “ are only about 1 Swedish meter wide and about 1,20 high? The crossmembers that hold the stability are also the longer parts but they’re thin. If you’re thinking about picking apart in between usage. I believe the website is www.logosol.com (or .no for you, Kenneth Stensrud). The new “cheap” sawmill is called Farmers sawmill F2 I believe. Good luck =)
Hi and thanks for watching. You havent followed me so you don't know the story behind. But in almost every video I talk about "the journy". So one day we will be there. One day we will be totaly off grid. For now I got a total of 43 solar panels with a production of about 120 kWh every sunny day and yes we have 3 face electricity from that. Have an amazing week man.
Sure is, when it works. But I'm not depending on it and in due time I will have a large solar array there too just as on the other homestead. Have an amazing weekend.

It will cut that but I belive that the newer one that got water cooling will do an even better job. The primary use for me is to mill pine, fur, and birch. Have an awesome weekend!
right side looks like it might be better if it was also attached to a rail . there's no way those slabs are the same thickness all the way along the length of the cut , you could see the wobble in blade. needs to be solid across on both sides. other than that it looks easy to operate and cuts well.
Sometimes you get a wobble in it but mostly it cuts quite good. I have changed some sliding parts and it wobbles less now. Also keeping the chains really sharp helps a lot. Have a great weekend

No, that's not possible. There are systems to automatically pull the saw but those cost around $1000. A cordless drill drives to hard, it don't adjust the speed depending on how much resistance there is in the log and how easy the chain cuts. Have an awesome Thursday!
How much did the chain saw or mill cost you? It is indeed an awesome tool. Love to own something like that as an outdoors man.
It cost me about $1800. I bought it used. Sorry for the late answer. Have an awsome Thursday
Offgrid.se Welcome buddy !! Thanks for responding.
Are you going to buy a sawmill or do you already own one?
Offgrid.se a Yes !!
Thinking about getting myself one because I need timber to roof my building project.
@@TS-yg3lv Sounds lite the perfect use case for a mill like this. Good luck with your project.
What’s the electrical source, 110-220? Amps motor pulls? Size ofa solar homestead array keep up with those requirement?
The electrical source is 400v and it pulls about 3,5 amp. The solar array I got has 46 solarpanels and produces about 14 kW. But that is on the other homestead. Have an amazing weekend.
Har du testat att ta bort veven och köra med en skruvdragare istället? Kan funka om det inte går för tungt.. 😃
Nja, det funkar inte riktigt. Man måste ha känslan. Annars blir det vågiga brädor. Finns tillsats för automatik med inbyggd känsla men det är dyrt. Ha en fantastisk torsdag!
@@offgridsweden Ahaa. Tack detsamma!!
Is there a URL to the electric motor cutter, great video love it.
Logosol.com You will find the new one there. Have an amazing week!
Please talk to us, why are you cutting? Is it for a project? For the house? For a friend? I am curious
This lumber that I have been cutting was for repairs on the old house. I will continue this spring to make lumber for a bigger project. I'm building a house for the tractor and the saw. Have an amazing weekend Narnice!
Offgrid.se please talk more on your video’s, we don’t care if it’s bad English ,it will make for better video. Thank you💖🇦🇺
Thank you much buddy !!
You are welcome man!
Nice video! I'm watching from bluffton indiana in the U.S.A. What kind of pine are u milling. Looks like it could make some beautiful furniture.
It's Pinus sylvestris or Scots Pine in English. It might be good for some furniture. I use it to build buildings and repair our old house. The dimensions I need can't be bought in Sweden. Have a great weekend
Why does it pull back so hard. Is the platform dirty. Nice set up. thanks for sharing. Watching from Iowa USA. :)
Thanks for watching. The nylon gliderails was bad. I have changed them and it glides much better now. Have an amazing weekend Gene!
hello, how much does this system cost ??? Tank you
Hi Fredi, I got a whole video on that, just click the link th-cam.com/video/kYz8tXT-V2s/w-d-xo.html
Have an amazing Wednesday!
Nice chain saw.
Thank you very much. Have an amazing weekend Kevin!
That's the best wood ,FFFRRREEEEEE .
Wish I had a mill
Cheers
Tim from Wood 4 Nothing
Thanks man. Have an awesome weekend!
How could you possibly say FREE, You have cost of chainsaw, the set up,gas, oil, time. these are just a few of the expense's. Common MAN!
Has anybody else noticed how much the chain bar floats up and down? I don't think setup would be good for large slabs.
I have adjusted the sliders on the saw and it's more exact now. I'm using a really thin chain and bar as well. For larger slabs you will use a thicker bar and chain. Have an amazing week man!
One day you'll connect a battery drill to the feed handle and be happy!
Yea, not the first time I had that suggestion. I would like an automated system for it but it costs about $2000. A cordless drill don't work. You can't get it to move at the right speed and right preasure against the wood. But it would be much cheeper if it worked. Have an amazing weekend man!
Do you still have this sawmill setup?
Yes, still have it and still use it.
Whats the red sawmill frame in the background?
When I bought the electric saw it came with the homemade red stand. It was hard to work with that so I replaced it with the stand in the video. Have a great Monday man!
@@offgridsweden looks interesting, I've just got a logosol timber jig with rail. I'm planning on building my own frame. Any chance of some close ups of the lift mechanism? Cheers
I love this saw.where I buy it?
Thanks for watching. You can find it on Logosol.com Have a great Thursday!
It’s a great mill if you can lift the log on to it. Most logs you can’t.
Thanks for watching. Most logs I can and a few I have to cut short. But there is no big problem getting them on the mill. Have an amazing weekend Jimmy!
WAY COOL! Now that's how to get the things you need for projects.
Greg Wade Thanks, yep now I got the wood for it. Any new projects at your place?
dont rev the chainsaw with the chainbrake on, not good for the clutch. also let the saw warm up for a minute before cutting. all parts are cold and will wear down much faster when you do that.
and i would have replaced that crank handle with a cordless drill. much easier.
Would love to try one out .looks good
It's an awesome sawmill. Have an amazing week and thanks for watching!
Where can i get one.
Here is their website www.logosol.com Have an amazing weekend!
What model Husqvarna are you using?
Hi, it's the XP 550 I'm using. Have a great weekend!
What is the attachment on the back of the tractor called?
I belive its called a harrow in English. Have an awesome evening.
@@offgridsweden Thanks!
Thank you for sharing am from Yap Island in Micronesia
good job HANSEL, where is GRETYL
Super nice mill bud ...
I have a Jonsered mill made in Sweden that uses an 89 cc Jonsered or Husqvarna (un modified saw) that runs on wheels on rails at ground level so the logs don't have to be lifted - much simpler and more economic system (but they don't make them anymore)
All you need is $100,000 dollars worth of equipment to load those logs. Great video though
Hi, man. What equipment is it that I need more then my tractor? Have an awesome weekend!
Have a great day
@@donaldcotnoir1865 I thought that you ment that I needed to buy something more that I didn't already owned. Now I understand what you mean. It can be quite expensive with gear so it's important that they got many uses.
@@offgridsweden most definitely. Again I love the video and I know equipment is expensive. I'm surprised the amount of power that electric saw has. Very impressive
@@donaldcotnoir1865 Thanks, Yea the electric saw got a lot of power.
@@randomstufffromrandomthing6792 You are correct if you buy one now, but my rail is in one piece. Other then that it packs down small.
"offgrid" - pulls out a 3-phase extention cord.
Hej.
What is a engine? Is it ES5 or ES8 from logosol. Or how many KW ?
Thanks for video !!
It’s nice to have electricity in the middle of the woods
Sure is, when it works. But I'm not depending on it and in due time I will have a large solar array there too just as on the other homestead. Have an amazing weekend.
@@offgridsweden I have a small 2 kw gen set that runs on propane I canrun for about 8 hours with no problem
@@ponyrein3409 That is awesome. What brand is it?
What caind offgrid it is if you have electricity? Did you have generator?
Thank you very much for watching. If you watch some more of the videos you will have that answer. Have an amazing Tuesday Janus.
Is the motor a 5hp
Love your video how do I go about getting one of these chainsaw Mills and what is the name of it thank you

Zieht die E- Säge bei Buche und Eiche 60 cm ⊙ auch gut durch?
It will cut that but I belive that the newer one that got water cooling will do an even better job. The primary use for me is to mill pine, fur, and birch. Have an awesome weekend!
Bonnsågarna har väl snart tagit slut men annars hade det nog varit ett snabbare och billigare alternativ.
Absolut, men det är kul att såga sitt eget virke. Ha en fantastisk vecka.
No fumes. Nice.
right side looks like it might be better if it was also attached to a rail . there's no way those slabs are the same thickness all the way along the length of the cut , you could see the wobble in blade. needs to be solid across on both sides. other than that it looks easy to operate and cuts well.
Sometimes you get a wobble in it but mostly it cuts quite good. I have changed some sliding parts and it wobbles less now. Also keeping the chains really sharp helps a lot. Have a great weekend
I am from Malaysia, are you sale of this product and how much in US?
Hi, I dont sale it but you can find th prices at Logosol.com. Have an amazing week in Malaysia.
Base of saw needs adjustment to the rail, too much play . But a very nice saw nonetheless, cheaper than a band mill !
Thanks man. Since the video those adjustments have been made. Have an amazing evening.
Let me guess... It's three phase power. That's as scarce as flying elephanfs around here.
Yep, fairly common in Europe
Everyone have it here in Sweden.
I wish everyone had it here.
nice saw mill
Amber & John Homestead Project Thanks, its really nice to have one. So what are you guys? Saw your video with that inverter. They are really nice to have. Will use one in an upcoming project for power I think.

Good job !!!
I bought mine used. I payed about $1800 for it. It runs like a charm an it have already payed for it self. Have an amazinf Sunday.
Wow those pins are white :)
