I was fortunate enough to meet Krueger a couple of years. He was very kind and was gracious enough to take a picture with me. I wouldn’t normally ask but what an f’n legend. Then I got watch him play from 15 feet away. Great night!

Fantastic lesson. Robby Kreiger reminds me of George Harrison - a fundamental pillar of his band but not one of the towering egos and therefore drastically underrated. I've always adored his playing, but until now I didn't know quite what he did that was so different. Thank you so much for explaining.

The difference imo that separates the kreiger and the Harrison from the highly rated is Kreiger and Harrison are musians qqqand the other are only guitar players..and if only a person only plays a guitar and no other music producing device that person can still be a musians with the knowledge and the required skills needed if chosen too can play any tool he chooses ..RocknRollFlat5

I love that I've been coming back to this vidi periodically over the past two years and whereas once it was all mystical and calling out to me, now it's crystal ship clear born of a set of forms I call home. Thanks for leading me on this journey. "....when we get back I'll drop a line."

    Hello stitch! Pardon the assumption!
If I met you walking down the road I'd say hello!
Besides fans of the Doors, many would not know Robbie Krieger!
I don't like seeing thumbs down for some one trying to share his knowledge.
Perhaps you should first give a "birds eye" view of what it sounds like before digging deep.
I know almost all of Robbie's solos but, at my age, I may have to be reminded; for just some numbers.
Otherwise wish you and your better half keep safe and happy during theese lockdown days.

Stitch, as usual your are exactly right about Kreigers style. He uses it in the same way as at 11:19 in the iconic song The End. It gave me fits when I transpoised it. He was so under rated. Keep it up and Ill keep watching and understanding what really going on. Im not a big theroy guy but this stuff is the real nuts and bolts of music.

Robby Krieger was one of my guitar heroes when I was a kid in the '60's. He has a formal classical/flamenco background. The lead part to Light My Fire may have been the first lead part that I memorized. Then, I saw Garcia and the Dead in '69 and that was all she wrote. But, I still really enjoy old Doors records.
