no the backup will happen on the new Gmail and if you log into new whatsapp account with the new Gmail ID then you should be able to see the backup ...

Hello Amlaan, I found your video really to the point , simple and easy to follow. However my case is a bit tricky and that's why this question. My iPhone died suddenly, it's all blank, dead and cant be accessed. So I moved my sim to a new phone and installed Whatsapp. Sadly i have just a few day's old, random chats on my new phone. Please tell me how to get all the old chats on my new phone. I used to backup regularly on my old phone so I am wondering in spite of backing up why I have just a tiny fraction of the chats on my phone. Shall really appreciate your help. Thanks.
It happened to me and I struggle for many days trying to get all my messages and data restored, then I chanced upon on the solution! it's very simple, on the new phone you first have to delete WhatsApp and and all the data, then re-download and install WhatsApp using your old number before changing the sim, it will then automatically ask you if you want to restore or your data and in doing so it will restore your latest backup....
Helpful video! Some additional pointers: It's impprtant to note that WhatsApp shouls not yet be installed in the new phone or not yet opened/setup. You can clear your cache and data in the new phone prior to opening Whatsapp if you already have it. Otherwise, it wouldn't work.

You can use a new number in the new phone .... but before proceeding to take backup on the old device first change whatsapp number to this new number and then the whole process remains same .....I have a new video just for this ....you may like to watch it ....revert for any further information

no dear, at any point for a given number you can run any instance of whatsapp ...for example say i have whatsapp number 91111111 , i can use whatsapp with this number only on one device ...if i transfer it to new device, i can no longer use it on old device

Hey I got a question. I tried to do a backup when I got a new phone but couldn’t do it. I really needed to use Whatsapp so I started to use it on the new phone as a new account. Now I would like to know if I can backup my old account with the old conversations on my new phone, without loosing the new whatsapp account (so like a mix of both accounts)
You will need to go to the old account localized backups ......if you see db files transfer all of them to the new account under whatsapp under db ( implying database folder ) ... this should automatically bring back most of the old chats

Hi, thanks for the video but I am confused. You took a local backup (the most up to date backup since you didn't want to wait for Google Drive to backup later) on your old phone but you restored whatsapp on your new phone from Google Drive (most likely an older backup) and not the most up to date local backup taken on your old phone. Correct me if im wrong. Because I'm unable to complete a Google Drive backup of 35+ GB for whatever reasons and I am looking to transfer a local backup from my old phone to the new phone (without restoring from Google Drive) Unless this is what you did and I missed something? If this is not what you have demonstrated in this particular video do you have any suggestions for my issue? Thanks!

Hello Amlaan, I found your video really to the point , simple and easy to follow.
However my case is a bit tricky and that's why this question.
My iPhone died suddenly, it's all blank, dead and cant be accessed.
So I moved my sim to a new phone and installed Whatsapp. Sadly i have just a few day's old, random chats on my new phone.
Please tell me how to get all the old chats on my new phone. I used to backup regularly on my old phone so I am wondering in spite of backing up why I have just a tiny fraction of the chats on my phone.

It happened to me and I struggle for many days trying to get all my messages and data restored, then I chanced upon on the solution!
it's very simple, on the new phone you first have to delete WhatsApp and and all the data, then re-download and install WhatsApp using your old number before changing the sim, it will then automatically ask you if you want to restore or your data and in doing so it will restore your latest backup....

Helpful video! Some additional pointers: It's impprtant to note that WhatsApp shouls not yet be installed in the new phone or not yet opened/setup. You can clear your cache and data in the new phone prior to opening Whatsapp if you already have it. Otherwise, it wouldn't work.

no dear, at any point for a given number you can run any instance of whatsapp ...for example say i have whatsapp number 91111111 , i can use whatsapp with this number only on one device ...if i transfer it to new device, i can no longer use it on old device

Hey I got a question. I tried to do a backup when I got a new phone but couldn’t do it. I really needed to use Whatsapp so I started to use it on the new phone as a new account. Now I would like to know if I can backup my old account with the old conversations on my new phone, without loosing the new whatsapp account (so like a mix of both accounts)
You will need to go to the old account localized backups ......if you see db files transfer all of them to the new account under whatsapp under db ( implying database folder ) ... this should automatically bring back most of the old chats

Hi, thanks for the video but I am confused. You took a local backup (the most up to date backup since you didn't want to wait for Google Drive to backup later) on your old phone but you restored whatsapp on your new phone from Google Drive (most likely an older backup) and not the most up to date local backup taken on your old phone.

Because I'm unable to complete a Google Drive backup of 35+ GB for whatever reasons and I am looking to transfer a local backup from my old phone to the new phone (without restoring from Google Drive)
