Hi Brett. I followed the same process as you did with the note 10 to s20. I had a s9+ to a s20+. I chose not to take photos and videos as my s9+ was full and these were backed up to Samsung cloud and Google photos. Everything went fine but this morning photos are now in my gallery/pictures and I'm not sure why. Could it be because I pressed Samsung cloud to sync images (I wanted any new photos to upload). Can I safely delete them from my device? Thanks for the video.
Smart switch made getting a new [s20 ultra] phone easy. And I used it to move the data to my old phone [S9] from my other old phone [S7]. I used wifi because the old phone [S9] was sensing moisture [erroneously]
Good that you clarify that it is copying over not “transfer” which could mean it wipes the data from the source device. No other tutorials I’ve seen make that clear
Thanks so much Brett, most comprehensive and easy to follow and understand I’ve seen. Really liked how you explained the initial info on the SIM card and whether you need the wi fi on the new phone or not. That really did my 65 year old head in. I didn’t get that until you initially explained it!
Thank you, Brett, I'm so glad there are people like you out there that are so helpful. I will be doing this later today once my new phone is delivered. You make it sound easy even for a 75-year-old like me I feel so much more confident to do this now. God Bless.
hi, I'm about to do this with my old 1phone 6s to a second-hand Samsung a13 I got at a good price. Did you manage to get it all done without any hiccups?
Thank you for a the excellent video and clear info. Mostly impressed as you started with the info regarding SIM card and did not assume people know that info. :) Sign of a good teacher !
'Secure', LMAO, as if the NSA can't see everything you do. Just recently a 'Bug' was discovered that allowed Facebook to watch you through your phone's camera...Just a 'Bug'.
Thanks so much Brett, that was so helpful, especially the initial info about the sim and the wi fi connection with both phones 📱. Not understanding that initially really did my 65 year old head in. I feel confident now with all the very valuable info you presented. You answered all my thoughts and complexities of this issue. You are a very very good teacher. Bless you Brett!

Thank you for this video. Just got my 23 ultra and this is going to be my first time using smart switch. This was right under the Samsung recommended quick vid but this helped with things like how to select what to move and not to move. Great video, thanks again!
Thanks for making this more in depth smart switch tutorial video. 🙏 Compared to your previous Smart switch video, this one is far more detailed and helpful re: the transfer process and far better at covering all of the steps & settings involved in the process. Especially on which options to select when transferring your accounts & data to your new samsung device, so that all of your U.I. preferences and customized settings will actually remain in effect on your new phone as well.👍 I posted a comment asking a question on your previous smart switch video before I saw this one. Pretty sure this video actually answered my question, for the most part at least. But, feel free to answer it if you get a chance, as I'm sure it would be helpful to others as well, especially anyone who didn't have a chance to watch this video themselves yet. You could even include the link along with your response, win win! Thanks again

All of the other Smart Switch videos I've seen only show how to move data from old Samsung phones. You've done a better job by showing how to transfer from non-Samsung devices too.
Thanks for the video....perfect timing,...my wife is about to upgrade from her s8 and was trying to remember how I used smart switch last time(been a while). Have a great one Brett
Thank you so much. Your explanations were very clear, appreciate the info about the sims as I am not tech savvy and was worried about that, but thanks to your video this old grandmother was prompted to attempt the transfer to my new phone using the wifi method and am happy to relate, successfully ... thank you.
Ordered a S21+ 5G, then I will need to transfer my apps etc from my S10+ to my new S21+, thanks, this is easier than I thought, Samsung Smart Switch is a time saver.
Great video, thankyou, this has given me a lot of confidence to get started! You answered my burning question early on, namely . . . when to remove the SIM !!
i commented on another video you did, then found this one. This is a complete show with good info and with the info on when to swap the SIM -- kudos! I have been a subscriber for ages but I think I missed out on hitting the bell. It is hit now!
great video, I'm getting stuck though, the old phone says connected, the new one keeps saying connecting then the old one disconnects, do you know how to get around this issue? going rom S7 edge to S20+ thanks
Great video and very helpful. One question - on my old phone many of my apps are on the SD card. The new phone does not have the ability to mount an SD card. Will the apps on the SD card be transferred using smartswitch? (Samsung S8 to Samsung S22 Ultra). Thanks.
thank you so much!! I was pulling my hair out!! The magic for me was that i had "smart switch" on my phones and could not get it to work. But I saw you downloaded "SAMSUNG Smart Switch". Bingo Bango it worked like you showed. Can't thank ypu enough!
Nice explanation although I have some other questions if you can help answer them I'd really appreciate it? -- Can we transfer everything BEFORE porting over and activating our new phone? This way we are done and ready the moment that our phones are active with minimal down time.. -- I have some older phones, Galaxy S5 and S7 old that I need to transfer data to our new S21 phones. Last time I tried wireless since I had to keep the phone charging but it didn't seem to work so well and took about 20 hours lol. -- Should I get a USB hub or 3.0 USB adapter to connect the new USB-C to maybe? -- 1 phone has about 100K texts to transfer (last time it was 54K texts lol so I wonder how I will keep the S5 charging (which does not have wireless charging) in case it takes a long time again? -- Last thing, will it transfer the stuff from the SD cards at the same time or do I have to do that differently? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
What is the difference between simply adding a Google Account, and Restoring a Google Account from Backup? In the latter, I can choose which backup file (which phone to restore from)? But if I just added a Google Account then I get the general synced data without customizations? Similarly, how does Smart Switch differ from Restore from Samsung Account? I assume restoring would only be used if the phone was lost?
Thank you very much for the easy to follow instructions and the in depth information on the different ways that different phones work with this app. Looks like you are wearing a Galaxy Watch Active 2 like mine too. 👍
Hi Brett, this is a very useful video, thank you for posting it. I noticed you didn't mention the transfer of music files, I want to transfer my music among other things from my old Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to my new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 plus. Also, my contacts are saved in my Google account and SIM Card, do I need to select Contacts when transferring the contents? Thank you in advance for your advice.
thank you for the video Brett! Q: What are the safest ways to transfer Samsung notes to a PC laptop? I am cautious about any transfer because a few years ago through using Smart Switch with a usb adaptor I lost all contacts from iphone 4s and many important iphone notes (over 300). not sure what went wrong there. I was following the instructions. but the mistake was not to backup iphone before (my PC laptop still does not see iphone's folders to manually backup).
Finally a video that clarifies how to transfer data stored on an SD card. On my old S10 I mounted an SD card, on my new S24 there is no longer a slot for the SD card so I will have to tick the option to transfer data from the SD card to the new device. I imagine that, on the new device, the data coming from the SD card will occupy the central memory of the device and specific folders will be created or will the pre-existing folders be used? Thank you
I already added my Google Account to my new phone, but now want to do Smart Switch to get my pics and videos in full quality, and because not all my contacts were on Google. Am I doing it in the wrong order? Should I delete the Google Account from the phone and begin with Smart Switch, adding back Google later? (either as part of Smart Switch, or independently)
Thanks - good job. My Note 9 had the Galaxy Store but it was in Chinese. I moved my sim card but still in Chinese. Had to open a Samsung Account to get it to change to English so I could download smart switch - coercive.
I received my Samsung Galaxy a13 5G yesterday & downloaded Smart Switch to it & to my Galaxy J3. I placed them side by side. The estimate for transferring data from my 16 GB J3 ranged from 17 to 10 hours! After several hours, the process quit at about 30%! I can't connect the phones by cable, because the old phone has a mini jack specific to it with a USB connector on its other end, & the new has a USB-C, the cable for which is USB-C on both ends. I don't even know how I could connect by cable to my computer, unless I borrowed the USB-C to USB3 cable from my Kindle Paperwhite. I tried again today, & the transfer completed in about 2 1/2 hours with about 3GB transferred. It's a relief that most of my apps transferred!
@Tech With Brett (Karl) at Minute 15:27 ( extreme left phone, S10+ i believe). there's a pic of you as an app icon. Which app is that? Can you tell me? Thx
Great video... Will need it in 2 days switching from tab s6 to s7plus👏... It is the same for tabs right? Also... Where is sim card??.. How to get to it please? Thanks again... Wish me luck😉
Yes thanks will work the same way with the Smart Switch app. You most likely don't have a SIM in your tablet but you might have a Micro SD slot. Look around the edge of the tablet to find a tiny hole with a centimeter size cut out around it.
What method did you use to transfer your data?
Samsung Galaxy s10? Open eBay
I’m an iphone user. How can i transfer pictures from iCloud to a Samsung device? Without Google photo...is there a way?
using wifi, thanks for video!

Same here....from Galaxie S5.....Lol

Little advice, use the cord method. Much more efficient than wifi and saves hours.
The wireless method let's you transfer your data from your old device to your new device while the both devices are charging
Thank you...Thank you.....Thank you. If you not watching this video, you are wasting your time. Great video.

I'm not positive on this one but I believe they should transfer with SmartSwitch if the app is available in the Play Store.
Hey TechWithBrett, thank you for making this educational video. My employees and I will be referring customers to your channel.
