When you see the difference in character to how James Gandolfini is in real life to Tony Soprano you can appreciate with no question, that he was truly one of the greatest actors of all time! Phenomenal. Especially to take on that roll for 6 long seasons. God bless this man, we miss you!
Someone shy would never be a lead actor unless they were such a good actor which he was that he could have even faked it when he walked out of his house to become the parts he became. Maynard James Keenan for such a public and outgoing job he is very introverted too and some could say he is shy too. It is amazing in a way how both of them became what they did as they are.
Yet when I got to interview James for my Journalism class (NJ college) I got too shy and just stood there looking at him between looking at my notes and the other student actually interviewed him, but he kept on giving me this sweet smile...and he was so generous with letting us interview him!! What a sweetie, may he RIP!
You have a Like for your Comment but i cant agreed for 100% because there are two Peoples which i love like James when it comes to GangstermovieGenre : ROBERT DE NIRO and AL PACIONO!
@@davidich3537 You clearly haven't seen or don't understand Taxi Driver and The Godfather. Brando actually played the stereotype in the Godfather. I feel so emotinal watching these. It is so rare that someone that talented and famous can remain humble like he did. Hollywood truly lost a gem of an actor when he died 😪
Lol yes Hollywood truly lost a great actor and also Houston and Honolulu. Although the show was produced by a company with headquarters in NYC and was filmed in NJ and NYC with mostly actors born, raised and still living in NJ and NYC, including James Gandolfini. RIP.
James doesn't like people annoying him, There's a video of a guy filming the street and James happened to be there, he thought he was filming him, so James went to him and yelled at him
James my entire childhood I would hear the sopranos theme song blasting from the downstairs TV and only till now, 2024 I started and completed the whole series, felt like it has been in my life since I was very small and I thank you and all of the crew for a fucking amazing show 25+ years later. RIP mate
Objectively she's a 6 at best. Even with all that makeup she still looks a little manly. Nothing wrong with that but if that's what passes for "wow" nowadays then I'm at a loss.
somehow she is more beautiful in real life. what a smile

Agreed. I never found her attractive in the show but she definitely is here. She's very well dressed and has a much more pleasant personality than her character, that's probably why.
A big, beautiful, talented, humble man. Very missed. I look forward to seeing his son act as young Tony in the The Many Saints Of Newark. :') He's not going to look much different from how his father looked in the first season of the Sopranos when he gets to that age.
I’m sure she knows, but on the other hand she needs to interview him. We don’t know if off camera she apologizes for keeping him so long. She knows her job can require her to be a bit pushy. It’s tough.
It’s literally her job to get good interview footage, plus the actors are on the red carpet where they expect to encounter this sort of thing. It’s not like she ambushed him at a restaurant or something. I thought she pushed reasonably hard to get some quotes out of him and she read him well enough to say “What’s the weirdest part of celebrity? ...besides this?” And frankly, thank goodness she did press a little, because now that he’s gone, footage of what he was like in person is few and far between.
@@andyspendlove1019 I agree with your observation but I believe mr gandolfini went as far as he could with the interviewer as the interview had run it’s course and the questions became rather boring.
He was such a genius at acting he hated fame which is what made him so likable James Gandolfini was himself he didn't all that fake Hollywood crap he just liked to act RIP
Humble is a better word than shy. Deflecting praise to everyone else. Asking non-leads to be interviewed to give their perspective. Even if it simultaneously satisfies his introverted nature I don't think shy is the best characterization
i read somewhere that did not like doin interviews and it shows. which is fine with me . so sad that he passed away . this will always be one on my fav shows ever !
Cool dude obviously he didn’t... he never did one single late night show with letterman, Leno, kimmel, Conan, none of them. And he was on one of biggest shows at the time
Now that i think about it, whenever Tony was talking about Gary Cooper he was also refering to James Gandolfini... The strong silent type, did what he had to do
I THINK JAMES GANDOLFINI ENJOYED THE WORK MORE THAN HE HAD JOINED I THINK JAMES GANDOLFINI ENJOYED THE WORK MORE THAN HE ENJOY THE ATTENTION THAT A TOP SHOW BRINGS.. I THINK HE LOVED HIS PRIVACY
Thats awesome about James, other actors want the spot light and talk to the press, but James brings in his fellow actors to talk instead of him. Cuz of shyness but I think he wants them to take the spotlight, everyone wants to talk to James.

You know he's a great actor when you just assume that that's him in real life.
Lmao “I’d like you to talk to Dominic” then throws Chianese in front of the camera and walks off behind him 😂
Who cares if he was shy? He was a freaking marvelous actor and that's all it matters!
I don't even think he was particularly shy. Just humble
exactly
Someone shy would never be a lead actor unless they were such a good actor which he was that he could have even faked it when he walked out of his house to become the parts he became.
Maynard James Keenan for such a public and outgoing job he is very introverted too and some could say he is shy too.
It is amazing in a way how both of them became what they did as they are.
Exactly and he was humble. He was a man after all and deserved his privacy and his cabocal
No one says that this is a bad thing, it's very endearing.

That's so cool, would've loved to have met him
So cute how Edie and the rest of the cast are so quick and willing to cover for him when he gets shy ❤️ they really were a family
JAMES WAS THE BEST GANGSTER ACTOR EVER , WITHOUT A DOUBT, R.I.P.

no its just a terrible interviewer
And that's perfectly okay. He just loved acting and was great at it
I wonder why 😐 cough cough the real mafia
Callum Radway he was probably an introvert.
James doesn't like people annoying him, There's a video of a guy filming the street and James happened to be there, he thought he was filming him, so James went to him and yelled at him
Such a humble guy.
Quiet agressive....guy
lol Trying to get out of there. Just like Tony would do.

Sopranos - best show ever made.
James Gandolfini - Love and miss you.

Big Difference!
one of the realest people!mad respect
You could tell he was sick and tired of the limelight. He was happier being a bit part actor. What a talent
He was always handsome, even when he was heavier.
This show is perfection: the writing, the acting, everything. Best show ever.💛
James was the best. He answered all the questions and when he felt their was nothing more to say he decided to cut it. Well done!
Man Tony sure pulls off a great James Gandolfini
It sucks so much that he is gone incredible actor
What a gentleman and such a wonderful Actor. RIP Sir!!! Love & Respect!!!

well they were right after the 90s...
Nah, slight change in style
The early 00s is basically the same as late 90s
He handles the press immaculately. True pro and a gent
He is dearly missed😊

thats was great, Tony just dipped out at the beginning, hilarious.
Everyone gets so scared around him. And he is awesome at making them feel that way. RiP
He gave the first interviewer such a Tony look when she tried to make him stay 🤣🤣
Let's be honest, we still see him as Tony, we still have respect, we still think we are talking with a mob boss
Nah zero respect for scumbag tony. Absolute respect for james gandolfini.
Edie Falco looking phenomenal! In terrific shape as well! RIP James 😢…
Smoke show in real life
James and Edie are (were) both such brilliant actors - truly.
RIP, James. And Edie is beautiful.
This interviewer is awful. For God sakes read his body language, his facial expressions.
I couldn’t agree more. She’s overbearing and mugging for the camera in attempting to draw attention to herself.

A very stressful job for everyone involved
You can tell he doesn’t want to be there. Relatable
He was an actor not a celebrity. He cares about the art not the fame.
Truth is he wasn't shy he's just acting amazingly constantly.
Definitely!
He really hated the interview stuff
And he still tried to be a good sport about it. Amazing guy. RIP

Gandolfini, for someone who had relatively physically imposing, tough-guy appearance, was humble was quite reserved.
I’m only learning about this mans greatness now. Such a shame
he always felt uneasy being interviewed

Look at Tony and Carmella 🤩
James is the man and Jesus Christ Eddie Falco was and is my crush.
I don't think it's exactly that he's SHY but I feel like he just really doesn't like interviews in general. Lots of actors don't.
What a magnificent beard.
