Here Ms. DiDonato coaches countertenor Daniel Moody with pianist Adam Nielsen on Handel’s “Cara sposa” from Rinaldo.     There is nowhere to hide with the human voice. We grip, we push, we press, we panic, we do everything except let go. It takes such courage to let go, but on a foundation of wonderful technique, that is what is needed. I turned down a place at GSDM in London to sing, I did not have that courage. If you have all stayed the course, bravi. I salute you.

    Excellent masterclass, super masterclass. Joyce knows what is important and understand how to wake it up with young singers. Daniel voice and experession with her lead put chill on spine and tear in eye. This was exceptionally wonderfull. Thank you!

    Muoversi e fare dei gesti parassita durante il canto - trovo tutto questo semplicemente ridicolo e poco professionale .
    Vedo che i giovani si divertono?...
    Purtroppo tutti questi movimenti inutili e poco professionali 60 anni fa erano semplicemente vietati !...
    Durante il canto la posizione del corpo del giovane cantante dev'essere fissa, immobile per tantissime ragioni allegate con l'impostazione giusta della voce e la vocalità !
    Poi un giorno quando il maestro ha insegnato al suo giovane allievo come cantare con una tecnica perfetta lo studente può ''saltare'' sulla sua testa se vuole ...
    Sono rimasto stupito dell'ignoranza umana !...

      chi tra gli studenti che fanno parte di questi master è il padrone della sua voce e può fare quello che vuole con la sua vocalità ?
      NESSUNO .
      io mi fermo qua .
      60 anni fa i nostri maestri ci insegnavano l'impostazione giusta cantando dei vocalizzi ... .
      nei primi anni l'allievo faceva molta attenzione alla posizione giusta del corpo e del petto, perché ?
      1 c'è una posizione del petto ben precisa che si deve imparare al giovane cantante e ogni gesto o movimento parassita del corpo distrugge subito il tuo lavoro !
      2 idem per l'appoggio e l' impostazione della voce !
      caro José , il sistema moderno di canto lirico è la negazione pura à tutto quello che ci insegnavano 60 anni fa .
      dopo anni di studio quando sei il padrone della tua tecnica e fai quello che vuoi con la tua voce allora se vuoi puoi danzare cantando senza nessun pericolo per la posizione giusta della tua voce .
      i master sono per i professionisti già pronti di affrontare il repertorio lirico vero e non per i dilettanti .
      tutti questi ragazzi che stanno partecipando in questi master classe sono dei dilettanti veri che purtroppo non conoscano la base del canto lirico .
      prima di ''interpretare'' un giovane deve vocalizzare ...
      lo stesso vocalizzo si può cantare in 4-5-6 ... modi differenti !
      oggi i giovani non conoscete La Base del canto lirico .
      purtroppo .
      poi le teorie sterili son solo del fumo .
      questa è la mia modesta opinione .
