Hey man, great video. Nice to see a regular guy review of this bike. In the future could you talk about the accessories you got, what's worked and what hasn't and give us some links to the stuff you recommend. I got the same bike and am just getting into cycling. The accessories are mind boggling and the majority of videos on TH-cam are by Lycra wearing "pros" with limitless budgets. Thanks.

When you take the tires out to transport you should put spacers in between the brake pads. If you don't and the brakes accidentally get pressed without the discs in, the calipers can get stuck and you won't be able to get the wheel back in or you'll get brake rub. @@LocusPocus Np! Bike shops usually have plenty of spacers lying around and will probably just give you a couple if you ask, but in a pinch you can just cut some cardboard to fit in there!

If you want get good peddles you should get race face chesters they are for mountain biking but they are super good

Skinny isn’t the problem, it’s the bigger tires that are limited. You should be able to put on any skinny tires 👍

Great bike. Any idea what is the widest tire you can fit on this bike? I was thinking of buying it and adding 42mm tires (fast rolling).

Good video. I also own a blue fx 2 disc 2020. Where did you get the kickstand? Mine is attached to the rear tire cause they told me that’s the only place it can go.
I got it at my local bike shop!
I picked up a Giant rear-mount and it fit perfectly on the frame - it was also height-adjustable which was a plus. I like it much better than the centre-mount. Because of COVID it's near impossible to find bikes and/or parts here in Calgary so I got a bit lucky to find this
The kick stands can go in either position. His is the universal one where what you got would be for Trek specific bikes.

Swapped out the pedals with my old Wellgo’s on day one. This bike rules. First time I’ve had one with disc brakes, it’s nuts how well they work.

fyi you don't have to take off the pin to remove the wheel just losen it and take the wheel off.
I got this bike mid June. I love riding it. It really is so light and such a smooth ride which is great for a mature female. I got the Trek FX2 Stagger 2020 in Silver.

@@LocusPocus at 3:40 , you were using a trainer. How is that set up? Can trainers be used with mountain bikes? I want to ride my bike in bad weather inside, but want it to be natural. Was the bike trainer expensive, and does it damage the tires ?
@@JitinMisra It is easy to set up and can be used with mountain bikes too. It does not damage the tires at all, and is effective! I got the stationary bike machine on Amazon, and there are tons of them on there. If you search "indoor stationary bike trainer", you'll find it!
Great video! One tip - you don't need to remove the entire Quick release axle to remove the wheels. Just unscrew a little and the wheels will pop off with the skewers still inside the hubs :)

I think the trek fx works on a different quick release (thru screw) that’s why I’m the video he needs to unscrew it

Just purchased the 2021 Checkpoint to replace this Bike. After riding the Checkpoint I realized that is not happening. I like them both for different reasons. So I will be keeping them both.

Shockkie which indoor trainer are u using and how high can u get your AVERAGE heart rate for a session?
Jitin Misra I got mine off of Amazon and it works great. Really gets the heart rate going as you can adjust resistance.

Good review, ordered my fx2 in July, my bike shop say December delivery! My road bike 09 1.2 trek is also in the shop, waiting on flat bar which delayed 45 days pandemic issues, this bike will be my e-bike, kit will arrive September 11, 2020. California Bike Racks makes a great ( 2 ) bike rack, $299 , I got tired of removing my front wheel. Make more Video’s! 👏🏼

I’m getting it too, I had got the verve 2 for comfort but i return it back it was entirely too slow and I seen like two old guys and I’m in my 30’s lol

It’s not really meant for stunts because there isn’t a full suspension. However I bunny hop and go down stairs with it. I don’t know how to wheelie so not sure 😂
@@LocusPocus thats all i wanted. Thx. Dont do stunts either but wanted to know it had the same functionality of a basic mountain bike (no suspension) used in an urban environment? Would this be the same for all hybrid fitness bike? Ill be looking at something ≤£250
@@MrW8ns3a yeah it’s mainly used for fitness. I mean I use it everywhere - it’s fine without suspension you just have to deal with some annoying vibrations through the handle bars etc. I think this is overall a great beginner bike!
@@MrW8ns3a I believe most fitness bikes are like this. If you want something more versatile you can always get a gravel bike. But those are pretty pricey.

It is fast!!!! I've slipped a couple times going uphill but otherwise, they have been fine!

I feel like the pedals are designed for quick and easy on/off if you're commuting. I've had my FX2 since August and haven't had 'too' many issues - just got used to having to pay attention to my footing position. Might replace them next year, but like the fact that when my foot does slip, the pedals don't give my shins too much of a 'bite'

Oh boy good question. Can’t give you an exact speed but I can tell you I took it down some steep hills and this thing for sure goes fast. Actually scared me.. lol

I went with the large frame, 17 I think it is. I’m 6’2 and fits great. I’d go with a large if I were you. You have a lot of space to spare with the seat adjustment!
I'm also 6'2". I went with XL because it was the only big one available where I live (Kyoto). It's really tall!
