I feel like it's a good in-between for me, going from an old steel bike, wanting to extend my range on my weekend bike path rides (We have a nice interstate path that runs 80 miles) from 25 to hopefully 40 by the end of the year but still being able to spend plenty of time around town getting groceries, doing chores, taking in the town without my head down in the drops. I might keep my old bike and convert it with a drop bar instead of pawning it, but I don't think I'd go in for the racing type bike here and now.
Don’t buy it. I will be honest with you. If you want to ride on roads only, build your endurance and go fast then buy a road bike. Multiple hands positions will make you feel comfortable for hours. Aerodynamic seating positing will help you resist drag. If you want a bike where you can ride every where comfortably then buy a trek ds series instead, it is much more comfortable than than fX series because of its fork, tyres and frame. I bought an FX 4 and within a couple of weeks returned it and bought a road bike Instead and I am glad I did it now. If you don’t believe me then buy it and ride it for a couple of weeks, return it and buy a road bike or a ds and feel The difference yourself.
Have to agree. To me it didn't spin well, felt draggy. Maybe because you sit so upright on it or maybe it's the mechanics. I never felt like I was gliding on it. Always felt like work. Returned it. Love my Marlin 5 though.

@@thecyclust899 trek domane al disc is great. I got al 5 disc, usually i make ~100 kms rides. Very comfortable
