Paul, This is one of my favorite songs. It is peaceful, comforting and brings about thoughts of hope. My first introduction to this song came to me as a child in the mid 90's in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World. My parents would take my sister and I there for our family vacations, and this song always brings me back to those happy times that were filled with wonder when I was younger. Thank you for your part in bringing this song into my life.

I can't hear this song enough. I lived in Mexico City for a short time. This song reminds me of everything that is of the light. I play it over and over. Thank God for real talent and artistry!
Hi Paul, I've been a fan of you and David Lanz' music since mid 1991, when I first discovered the Narada CD collection at the local music stores. My first CD was Desert Vision, followed by Natural States and Bridge of Dreams (as soon as it hit the shelves in '93). I have David's _Nightfall_ solo piano album and one or two Narada sampler CDs and Michael Gettel's _Skywatching_ album, in which you contributed the guitar parts. I also bought the Desert Vision and Natural States DVD It wasn't until 2011, I think - when I discovered you sold your music through your website and I ordered a copy of Oculus, Wonders, Televoid, Hells Canyon and about four years ago it was Sonoran Odyssey. Thank you for the invitation via email to sample Adventures in Space, I've downloaded it but have yet to sit down to listen to the songs. 🙂 I've seen this very video of your Mexico City performance several times on your TH-cam channel. At the time when you toured with David and Neal (my deepest sympathies for your loss) were there any plans to release this performance as a live album either on CD or VHS/LD/DVD? Is the rest of this concert's footage still available and do you roughly remember the set list? 😀
Hi StratMan - Thanks for your message and long time support. There are no plans to release this concert in any format. Besides, it would be quite complicated to negotiate the rights to do that. I do appreciate your interest. I don't recall the set list other than we opened with Eagle's Path. 🦅
Hi Paul, I think the world is ready and in need of a reunion tour! 2012 consciousness awareness, I can't think of better music for humanity. Love and Light, Namaste' my friend.
I love this- especially "Behind the Waterfall". What an enigmatic title. I've never seen it played live before. It's great to see how much the musicians are enjoying playing it-- creating the magic!

I used to drive to Key West in my tiny convertible and listen to this again and again. Became my Mom's (RIP) favorite. I now live in South America and when I go to the ocean, this song is with me. By the way, awesome waterfalls around here.
From the first time I ever heard Desert Rain until today I still just love this. I was down deep inside Carlsbad Caverns not so long ago and as I came upon some of the most beautiful stalactites and stalagmites I could hear this music. It is cosmological. We are so blessed to have these guys and their timeless music. It's a celebration of life.

Paul, 'Natural States' is a precious album to me. It is part of my life's soundtrack. I listen to it every time I drive to the Oregon Coast. Just east of Salem, OR is the Van Duzer corridor - a tree lined two lane highway that winds througn the coastal range and opens up in Lincoln City. I hit 'play' as soon as I see the entrance of the Van Duzer and the album becomes the soundtrack through the lovely scenery of the Willamette Valley, the coastal hills - and finishes exactly as I pull into the first ocean lookout. I have listened to that album (first tape, then CD) on the way to the coast for 30 years. Literally hundreds of times. Just did so again last week. There have even been times when I wasn't driving but would bring my copy and take over the stereo. Thank you Paul. You and David made music that has seeped deep within my soul.
Kyle - Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with our music. I don't think I have been on the Van Duzer but I do know firsthand how beautiful northwest Oregon is.
I stumbled upon this song on Apple Music, and it instantly transported me back to the late 80s in Mexico. I'm convinced it was part of a nostalgic ad campaign. That's why I came here, trying to find out where. The flood of emotions and memories it brought was overwhelming. As I read through the comments, I was moved to find that many others shared a similar sentiment of reconnecting with their childhood. This tune seems to have had a profound impact on all of us, providing a comforting soundtrack to our younger years

You originally recorded "Behind the Waterfall" one year before I was born; I distinctly remember hearing this song when I was little and requesting my mom to turn up the volume! There's just something about the flute in the original version that takes me to a special place, even today. Thank you, and a warm hug from Mexico!
When I was just a teenager, I happened to first hear "Behing the Waterfall" on my local jazz station a few decades ago. The only way I could hear it was from an old cassette tape I had. Luckily I happened to listen to one of the internet radio stations and selected one of the early smooth jazz genres. I nearly freaked when I heard it because I never knew the name of the song or the artists when they played it long ago. I hurried and logged onto amazon and bought it. I was so happy that day saying to myself "Finally got my song!" I guess I had a Susan Lucci moment, lol. Anyways, thanks for making such a beautiful song. It forever stuck in my head, which I'm glad because now I can listen to it all I want and drift off to another world.
My story is similar. I had it recorded to a cassette tape when I was a teen. I remembered hearing the radio announcer say the name of the song was "Behind the Waterfall". After I listened to that tape recording for a year or so, I set to head out to the record store... yes we had those back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, and looked up the song. I found it on the Narada "Natural States" album and bought it immediately. Love it to this day! The picture of Paul and David on the back, they look almost like kids themselves!
