I just added beach sand as a substrate, beach sand has natural salt on it and leaches off into the tank, looots of harnwart to keep water changes to a minimum, i only top up weekly cos my cats and dogs drink the tank water and levels drop so i just top up with water... so after a while salt levels drop off again.
Try putting a drop of yogurt with human probiotics in the tank. The probiotics of the yogurt will help them regain their appetite. If your tank is too large, put them in a tank with about 5 gallons of water.
@@GuppyChannel in my own experience I always put my sick fish on a little container whit salt just for a few minutes and put it back in the tank. I repeat this twice a day! And it works!!!

My plants do fine in salt, my Java moss loves it.

It is completely safe for your guppies because the amount of salt in the aquarium is quite low.
