First saw Zepplin in 1968 at the marquee club in London they were called the New Yardbirds hadn’t changed their name yet. All I can remember how loud they were and completely different followed them from that day saw them many times after that as well as Pink Floyd
They sounded damn good at this concert, considering not playing together for so long, & their ages. Kashmir fox this sounds really good. Robert can still hit some high notes, but not as easily as he once did. He’s been very successful since the band broke up, he has like 11 albums & has won some Grammy awards too, actually he’s touring this year. Thank you for your reaction, love it if you did more Led Zeppelin.
The band broke up when their legendary drummer, John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham died accidentally in later Sep 1980 ... Thats his kid Jason on the drum kit for this show (born in 1966 2 years before the band was originally formed on 8/19/68). This was a benefit concert (27+ years after they ended LZ) for the late Executive at Atlantic Records who signed them in Dec., 68 to raise money for his charities. When this show was announced, 20 million people applied for tickets online, shattering the record for most sought-after show tickets in history! They weren't bad with 2-3 weeks practice after almost 3 decades apart?
They actually signed with Atlantic Records on November 9,1968, they started touring the USA on December 26,1968, before their first album came out on January 12,1969. You were very close though. It’s just amazing how quick everything fell into place for them, Atlantic Records hadn’t even heard them play live. With the band having total control over all their music, when to tour how they’d promote what album covers would be, & if & when they’d release singles (which were very few). They got the largest signing bonus at that time too. I guess Atlantic Records knew they struck GOLD!
These old rock bands I could see paying a lot for tickets, sadly for these bands, tickets were peanuts. I think the most I ever paid was $12.50 & that was 4 bands playing, & Lynyrd Skynyrd. This was in Miami back in the mid 70’s, I forget who else was playing, but known bands.
They KILLED it for this whole show!!! They STILL got it
The only time they ever played this song live....2007.

I love this song! Thankyou ❤
Just shivers to the spine ❤❤❤
They very rarely allowed their music to be used for any commercial ventures. Only a very few songs used in movies.
Never released a single either
@@LeanneAnderson-e5cyes only a very few though, I can’t right off hand remember how many.
I think the Immigrant song was used more then any other, very picky about who could use.

This is when the group reunited for last concert. Jason Bonham replaced his Dad John who had sadly passed away. This was a one off concert!
The GOAT!

Jason's drumsticks have a black band around them because they were good fathers.
