I wish my friends had FO76, playing alone is kinda boring after sometime :( Anyway, im having a blast playing the older Fallouts till New Vegas, very fun indeed
Im a huge new vegas fan but i actually don't want a new vegas 2. I want a game which has pretty much every aspect of new vegas but somewhere else on the west coast that we haven't been, somewhere like utah or maybe arizona or something. The problem with new vegas 2 is you'd essentially be recycling so many characters, locations and factions that it wouldn't feel like a new game. Especially with the fallout show going to vegas in season 2 i dont see a reason to have another game there anymore.
Honestly that's just what I imagine when they say New Vegas 2. I imagine it wouldn't even have this name, it's more of a nickname for a Fallout made by obsidian and some of the people that worked on New Vegas, though it's very unlikely cause most of the great talented writers are no longer there
@@Whoyouwishyouwere well with utah you could have a lot of factions, not just the white legs. New Canaanites, the eighties, the great khans, perhaps some sort of NCR expedition, perhaps something to do with the legion as they had relations with the white legs etc
It's a tourist destination. Didn't have a fraction of the lore, philosophy, or interesting characters that the games had. It will be irrelevant again once it goes down the Disney Star Wars route of oversaturation. The story they set up is C tier at best and all the show did was prolong Bethesda mucking the IP up for another decade. Had the show flopped, it would've put Bethesda in a difficult position. 76, Starfield, and the show flopping would've put a lot of heat in the studios to make changes. Instead we'll get the same tepid games. Emil's presence only ensures it. The show will only have superficial aspects in the seasons coming. I mean, the choice of setting this story right after New Vegas is room temp thinking if not outright malicious. They could've left the the game's endings ambiguous but instead decided to write in a canonical ending. It's a massive mess from whatever perspective you look at it. Not to mention them obtusely reintroducing the Enclave. Further, New Vegas is superficially a western. The core of it was the story and the poltical philosophies in the game which is completely absent in the show. If the writers were smart they would'nt have written the medicore scene for why the bombs dropped nor would they have bothered with nuking the most storied faction in the IP. The show will only give us useless lore and cheap jokes. Hopefully, the show bombs in season 2 so Bethesda will recognize they have no talent for writinf and sell the IP to a capable studio.
The problem with starfield was the spacing and loading of planets and lack of things on each planet. If we go back to their other "failure" fallout 76, the world building was incredible, there was just no one there. Put all of it together and you'll still get a good fallout game in a one map setting like before and with interesting characters and lore from the start.
It is a love-letter t Fallout 4 - by Todd Howard - for Todd Howard. It kind of pisses on the other games. Humungous plot-hole in it too, that actually collapses the whole story. If the people in charge of the vault knew that everyone in the neighoring vault had been dead for decades, how on earth can they fall for the raiders pretending to be neighbouring vault-dwellers for that wedding scene?
I agree with your idea that the Fallout show's success will bring something new to the Fallout franchise. It would be ridiculous for Microsoft + Bethesda to not introduce something new and major to the series.
I think the best thing that can happen is to the TV Show move the lore foward, and star making remakes of the first two games. Like the Resident Evil remakes

Fallout 76 actually isn't that bad after all the latest updates and i say that as a harcore OG fan. If it weren't for the fact my game bugged out and i can't hear audio i would say its probably the most fallout bethesda fallout. They added back all the rpg elements and people are in the game now, so its closer to fallout new vegas than fallout 4 at this point. That said new vegas is still much better and fallout 1 and 2 even better. Of course i don't think that the show will harm fallout by sending them to fallout 76. Why? Because people won't just google "newest fallout game." They'll google things like "fallout vegas" "fallout new california republic" They'll start typing "fallout the ghoul" and see suggestions for "the courier" and they'll find their ways to other fallout titles.

But I still hope tho. A Salt Lake City based game would be awesome. New setting, new factions, but also old ones like the legion, cannanites, maybe a little ncr here and there. Maybe it will change since Microsoft owns Bethesda now, and after starfield and 76 flop, (and this spike in interest following the show on the west coast) Bethesda might be down to do stuff they said they wouldn't.
