Many people still believe that elephants lack emotions and feelings. I urge you to watch this clip. Every time, upon arriving at Elephant Nature Park with new Park members, we will witness various family groups in the field become highly attentive. Sometimes it is just the truck, but more often it is the knowledge that someone is on that truck. Elephants cluster at the gate, anticipating the arrival of a truck with a new member. They‘d raise their trunks and fuss, communicating amongst themselves. Occasionally, elephants aboard the vehicle would respond with a similar Trunks Up and a cacophony of welcoming sounds.
Just 2 days ago, such a welcoming committee marked Dok Koon’s arrival. Chana‘s family, eliciting excited and curious noises reflected their raw emotions. This is the heartwarming welcome toward new elephant arrivals at Elephant Nature Park. Allowing them to freely express themselves reveals their wonderful and amazing reactions to each other.

It brings tears to my eyes that this beautiful elephant family greets the new rescues with so much love and celebration. Complete joy.
Me Too they are so focused with more of their kind who are arriving. Elephants never cease to amaze me. 🐘🇦🇺💗😁
They are magnificent animals ❤
It brought tears to my eyes as well. This made my day 🩷
How nice not like human being.
@@zhamiladamn2975We could learn a lot from elephants.
They’re blowing their trumpets celebrating the arrival of their new friend.
❤❤❤😊
I have never seen so many excited elephants. That was so cool!
Most beautiful creatures in the world! Love them all, great video!👏🤩👍❤️
Yea. But why couldn’t we see the interaction of the new arrival with the herd. So frustrating
They know the truck, and what that it means to a new arrival as well.
Imagine being Dok Koon, in a truck, not knowing where you are going, and then you see a bunch of elephants running to greet you. What an emotional roller coaster ride he had that day. Glad he is among friends now.
I think we can all (in our own unique ways) relate to Dok Koon's experience that day. A lovely comment CaptainAmaziiing, thank you for sharing it and I hope that you are having a great day 😊
That looks to me more like territorial behaviour than welcoming behaviour. You see several elephants clawing at the ground and they also surround the human the way they would with a young elephant while there is predators near. Finally, you also see elephants urinating a sign they are marking territory.
@@obelisk21Did you get your elephants facts from a 80s tweaker? Elephants don’t urinate to mark their territory they are not dogs. And elephants are nomadic creatures with no set territory. If they were angry or stressed they would have secretions coming down the sides of the faces. They would’ve attacked. Gosh you’re slow.
@@obelisk21I think you’re not giving elephants enough credit with their emotional and social intelligence.
@@obelisk21 Elephants dont mark their terrritory by urinating, they do that with their Tusks.
I love that they know what is happening when the truck arrives and how happy they are for whoever it will be to join them. Such precious souls. 💖
even the geese trumpeting a welcome
Precious yes, heartwarming creatures, love them so much!
Props to that handler, takes some guts to put yourself in that spot, regardless of any relationships formed with those animals.
Yes, exactly. I hesitate to get in front of my cats when they are super excited and trying to get to something. No way I'd get in front of an elephant like that!
My thoughts too. A bit foolhardy though.
There is a clear risk involved but if you have ever spent time around horses you understand the risk exists there as well. Training an animal requires that man takes the risk. Fool hearty I think is the wrong sentiment. It is foolish for some dork with a camera to approach buffaloes, a trainer of any size animal is taking an educated risk.
*hardy
@@rodshop5897To be fair to elephants, cats are far more unpredictable. 😅
There is no doubt in my mind that elephants are highly emotional beings, in the best way possible. Their love for their own kind is sometimes way better than some humans can ever have for our own kin.❤🐘❤
Until you're an adult bull meeting another adult bull in heat HAHA. Female elephants are lovely tho
sadly we prove that every day
Completely agree. They could show humans a thing or two.❤❤❤❤
AMEN🐘❤
The best welcoming committee in the world.
Now that's what I call a warm welcome to their new friend. Beautiful to see and heart warming. Did you know that when a female elephant gives birth, the other elephants will trumpet their congratulations and celebrations? Elephant love for each other is exemplary. Humans have alot to learn from them ❤
Here comes the "Welcome Committee" trumpeting their joy to a new member of their family.
Wow!! Imagine being the new kid on the block and just being welcomed and celebrated like that! Elephants seem to be more evolved and compassionate than humans! Their caretakers are the exception!
I think you are right, they are way ahead of us in community and compassion.
Lovely comments here.😊😊😊
You are ignoring the fact that teenage male elephants are kicked out of the herd.
Humans are the worst compared to animal world.
Imagine being stuck in the back of a truck, not knowing your fait, then the truck stops, and you're suddenly surrounded by happy new friends.
The elephants are joyfully telling the new arrival welcome to our family.
💙💙💙🙏🙏
And also telling him how wonderful it is to be there and how safe he is now 😊
Elephants have such beautiful souls
No they don't.

Their excitement and joy was so palatable, I started crying.
The beauty and wonder of God’s creations is so humbling..💝
Fantastic welcome. Would love the clip to be a bit longer so we could see the herd interacting w/the new arrival once off truck. Thanks for all your love & generosity taking care of these giants. ❤❤❤
Strange that the interaction was omitted
They usually keep the newcomers in a separate pen for awhile so that they get acclimated to their surroundings and so as to not stress them all out too much. The new elephant will net veterinarian care, medicine, food, water, etc., so they keep them separated until they’re sure they’re up to mixing with the others.
@toscadonna Oh, I understand the necessity of what your saying, however, it looked as though they were taking him off the truck while the others were reaching out their trunks thru the slats on the truck. At the end, they had opened the back door to let him out & the other elephants were right there.
@@dhtisme7034 true but it would not surprise me if the herd was lured away after they had made their greetings…. These elephants likely remember their own arrival to this sanctuary and know the routine
They keep them separated for a quarantine period to make sure the new arrival doesn’t have anything contagious that can affect the rest of the herd, and also some acclimatising, and to get to know the mahout’s so that they feel safe to come to them if they’re injured etc. but the herd will be able to see them and they will be able to call to each other.
they know exactly what the arrival of the truck means......outstanding
They can smell the new elephants too, I think.😁
It clearly says 'elephant rescue truck' on the side

One would need to lack emotions and feeling to believe others lack them. Real truth is sensing the emotions and feelings of others deep within one's self. This was a very beautiful and heart warming moment for me. I saw and felt it all, thank you.
What amazes me is the elephants obviously know what is happening and who is doing it and what it will mean for them and their new friend.
They are very smart. They have higher emotional IQ than humans. They have parts of the brain that we humans don't even have.
Oh how God will punish humans for what we've done to elephants.
Their souls are light as a feather and they will all go to their own paradise when they exit this existence. ALL of them.
But us humans...I dont think many of us will go to any heaven. Probably me neither even though I've tried all my life ti be kind and do the right thing.
Just my thoughts about Elephants🙂
"Raw emotions" is the perfect description. With such good memories, I wonder if some recall their own arrivals. Elephant social behavior is amazing.
They say an elephant never forgets ❤ 😉
Elephants, like all mammals have fantastic memories. They are extremely intelligent also.
Oh God Ganesh save all animals.
I dont know much about elephants but i do know horses and they never forget anything even if years go by. They know a lot more than that too.
If hanging out with these beautiful giants isn't a dream job I don't know what is.
I wish people were as welcoming as elephants, we would all be better off.❤
Elephants never cease to amaze me with their emotional intelligence and compassion. They deserve all the best we can give them.
Welcome to Elephant Paradise
❤😊
Such wonderful, majestic animals. With bigger hearts, and love of family than many humans.
This is so beautiful, thank you to ALL the wonderful kind people responsible for making this happen. There really are so incredible people in this world. THANK YOU ,THANK YOU ,THANK YOU.
GIVE US OUR FRIEND!!! and I agree and thank everyone who make this possible from the bottom to the top of my heart! Who on earth thinks elephants lack emotions or feelings, only people who want to profit from elephant suffering thats who.
How lovely to hear them greeting the new elephants. So sweet and very heartwarming. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is one hell of a welcome !
It sure was!🐘❤🌞
Absolute trust and bond they have with their helpers, no panic, no pushing, no agitation, just excitement for the new arrival. ❤
The most beautiful of welcome’s ever!! 🐘🐘🐘 The compassion and love of Elephants is something for us humans to learn from greatly. Thank you Ele’s 🐘💜🐘🙏🏼🕉️🙏🏼🌻
Incredible!!!!!! Look at how emotional and intelligent these beautiful creatures are! How can those evil people out there mistreat such wonderful animals?? Thst you for loving them and giving them the respect and dignity they deserve!
If only humans had this much compassion for one another. Man is touted to be the most intelligent, but we sure could learn a thing or two from Mother Nature.
How wonderful that they understand what the arrival of the truck means. This is a really special place.
My love for elephants gets bigger everyday of my life. If I was able I would save everyone of them. I have admiration and respect for all the people who save them❤❤❤❤❤
Too sweet! Absolutely no apprehensive actions just excitement! Videos was too short! I wanted a real meet and greet! How lovely! ♥️🐘♥️
Wonderful!🎉 💓 but we really want to see the part where he gets off the truck!😊
The joy and excitement breaks my heart knowing they rejoice in freedom of one of their own from suffering, carrying memories of mistreatment. Safety and a good life on the other side with a welcoming herd. Precious species. ❤
And stood amongst a herd of excited elephants is a keeper, quite happy, believing this is normal and safe!
Thank you for rescuing these wonderful beings🙏🏼😘❤️
So touching, showing us their support and warm welcome to a strange elephant.
Umenbeings should learn from them

Such tender beings. They have a new loved one. I'm crying here.
Das ist so Süß und Wunderschön 🐘🐘🐘🐘🎉💜🤍💚❤️💙🧡💝🥰😘✨Ich Liebe ELEFANTEN 💕
There are some videos of elephants in the wild that, after the rescue of a baby from a mud pit or such, the whole group, when it is returned to them, will trumpet and raise their trunks to the rescuers. Also others where the elephants trumpet and raise their trunks in 'hello'
Such amazing, sensitive creatures. Can't wait for the follow up video.
I love how they allow them all to welcome their newly rescued friend in their own way’
Their excitement is unmistakable! They can hardly contain themselves. What a beautiful sight, bless them.

The emotional capacity of animals never ceases to amaze me.
What a warm welcome!! Elephants seem to love their own kind more than any other creature. They are such a social species. The new elephant is already a part of them.

So beautiful. Made me happy cry. We should never tolerate cruelty to any living being.
That made me cry. They knew the new elephant would appreciate their support.
New life with friends for the new elephant. Things will be better from now on 🐘

I think elephants could teach humanity a thing or two about compassion
Beautiful to see the herd coming to greet the new arrival and welcome them to a beautiful life for the rest of their days. They all look so happy and excited, like they can't wait to tell them it's going to be good from now on. Elephants are amazing. Thank you for rescuing them. Bless you all.❤❤❤

This is absolutely beautiful!!!! Humans can learn so very much from elephants! Some of Gods most AMAZING animals!!!! God bless every single one of them! As well as ALL the caretakers!!! 🥰💕🙏😊❤️🤗
Elephants are so incredible, so majestic and so loyal to each other.
This video touched my heart! These elephants don't care where these new elephant came from, but rush to welcome them. They don't care about such a trivial thing! They just know they are the same species and want to let them know that they are happy to meet them. Too bad humans can't be more like them!
I'm both heartbroken and happy for them at the same time. You are special people, very special. I wish you all the best.
So many never get this freedom ,but here it is happiness
How beautiful! I love elephants so much. I was waiting for the rescued elephant to walk off the trailer hoping to watch the elephants great their newest rescued family member but what I did see brought me to tears. Thank you! 🐘🐘🐘
It must calm the new arrival down a lot to hear all the happy welcoming elephants❤😊
What a welcome ceremony 😂 you can feel them saying "we're loving it here, you will too!" in their trumpeting. ❤
Good morning I can’t believe what I am seeing a welcoming party hello friend freedom is yours now listen to the squeaking an trumpeting tears from my eyes love love this
I've never seen such excitement! What a welcome for a newcomer! Its so nice to know so many friendships await
“Oh, hi, welcome! Hey, you are going to LOVE it here! “
This made me cry such a joyous welcome to an elephant who came from a tough time and a different place with no hesitation, wish humans were more like elephants.
Wow! What a welcome for the new arrival!😘 But I wish the video was 2 minutes longer😉
🥰💜🐘💜🐘💜
Yeah! How about "part two"
@@johnwoodward4175
Lol, I’ve never been partial to cliffhangers
but I’m sure part 2 is in the works.
Impressionnant ❤❤❤
I was lucky enough to go to the Elephant Cafe in Zambia and interact with the amazing creatures. It was the most emotional experience of my life (aside from the birth of my children!). I feel forever grateful for being able to see what it’s like to be around them, they are so large yet so gentle.
This caused tears in my eyes. It's so good to see and hear the excitement in every elephant there. Thankfully, there are still some good humans on this planet. ❤
If only humans could show each other this kind of love .
Ehh, because "welcome home parties" are just an urban myth??
People do all the time. I do know your sentiment though when I'm more stuck in the negativity. I'd say 85-95% of all interactions between people are good. Best wishes.
We'd rather kill each other over skin colour and spend our days bitching about who is what out of ten in looks.
@@pinetree5489 Your life experience does not extrapolate for others . Negativity or positivity does not influence the free will of others or we would not have prisons.
What a heartfelt welcome Dok Koon has received from Chana's family. It is so inspiring to see how compassionate and caring elephants can be towards one another.
It is lovely to see how the elephants greet the new ones. The excitement, the eagerness to meet their new friend. These animals are gentle giants with emotions.
