Dougo has turned into a Chatty Cathy.
A couple of years ago not a peep when Chet tried to get him to open up.
I love the way he talks to us like we're actually sitting or walking beside him.
Looks like you guys had another long productive day harvesting.
Thanks for the entertainment and for keeping our bellys full.
Well, I don't care for tofu but your soybeans may be going to other uses.

Cars & Tractors - Years ago I was heading off to do some discing about 30 miles from the farm. I was pulling a 20 foot offset in road gear and a person came up behind me and stuck there. I am only going about 25mph (wide open), tractor had duals and the disc didn't fold so I took up most of the road and some of the shoulder. She was back there for what I thought was forever, probably 3-4 miles with plenty of time to go around me, at one time I throttled down to about 15mph and she just hung back there. At that point I said "whatever" and put the throttle down and didn't look back and thought whatever she is going to do fine. Well I am now headed up a hill and there is a no passing line on the road at which point the lady decided this is a fantastic place to pass. Where I am setting I see a semi-tractor trailer coming towards her and hit the brakes. She flies by me and the semi missed her. She probably never knew how close to a big tragedy she had narrowly escaped.

Gravity wagons have never been used on the high plains of Texas. Fields are just to big. In the 1950's 120 bushels was a good irrigated yield. I never get in the cart except to move. 650 bu/min is too fast to stop before the truck is overflowing. 60 years ago that 400bu cart was my main job! Moving 3,000 bushels/hr now to the truck is a job for the younger generation...Dougo your time is coming!

They make a portable camera system. You can put a camera on the back of the equipment and place the display inside the cab. This will allow you to see if anything is behind you. A system like this is under 200.00 and well worth the cost that could save a life. Be safe during this year harvest.

it's brake AND PARTS cleaner Dougo :P basically in mechanic speak it is EVERYTHING cleaner :) not to be confused with carby cleaner/ throttle body cleaner which ironically isn't even safe for carbs since it destroys rubber :D that being said..... if it's anywhere near 10 bucks a can you need to stop using that John Deere snake oil, even in Australia where everything costs 10 times more you can get BENDIX brake cleaner for less than that, and that is the GOOD STUFF. watch your eyes though cos that stuff comes out of the can like a pressure washer and splashes back ;) nothing reminds you to wear safety glasses faster than brake cleaner straight to the eye. A handful of $10 pump sprayers or even some $1 squirty bottles and buying brake cleaner by the drum pays for itself very quickly compared to buying spray cans
