I was inspired by French style more than 40 years ago to try wearing silk scarves. There were quite a few young professional French women who worked near me in downtown San Francisco, and they dressed so simply, elegantly and beautifully, I spoke French and studied them when I saw them. I’ve worn silk scarves ever since and I absolutely love them. I’m often the only one who does wear one, but every time I wear a silk scarf, I get multiple compliments on my outfit. I wish more women would try them, they’re Parisian-style chic magic. I love great leather belts and jewelry, too, accessories are so important. Thanks so much, Alice, for sharing Parisian style with us.
I love designer vintage silky one especially with colors. My current favorite are Hermes and Kenzo. Vintage Dior also and Cartier look so chic. If you wear Hermes or Cartier break it with a modern casual and cool outfit otherwise it is a little bit too conservative
A lot of mid-range bags, like Michael Kors, use those hang-tags with logos on them. I just take them off, it’s easy. Dangly metal bits just increase the weight of a bag, anyway, I take off everything I can.
Please stop correcting Alice on her pronunciation/echo etc! This is a woman who is creating home videos for us, and, she is not speaking her native language. Leave her alone!
It's quite sad that we clamour for diversity but can't even appreciate the same diversity when we see it play out in real life. If you're British or American speaking French, KNOW THAT the accent of your mother tongue WILL definitely play out. Accents are the intrigue in who we are & I love them. What's interesting about one if you're like everybody else. Well done @Aliceinparis
@@juliettsstyleglam couldn't have said it better, love Alice's accent!
Absolutely agree. Oh and her English is alot better than our French. Exactly.
Hi Alice ! You are so spot-on and then do not forget that French language also adds a huge dose of sophistication and charm .
ah ah thank you 😝🙏
Many years ago during college I spent the first of many winters in Paris. I discovered so many nonsigne shops that we’ve never heard of in the US, with the most classic and beautiful cuts in all price points. This is not so apparent to us here in the States where the larger French brands sort of crowd the fashion space … meanwhile Paris is loaded with gems. ❤
Fabulous video.. I love when the woman said they dress up to "feel good"
I love the French/Parisian style, it’s my favourite 🙂
When I was a lot younger and there was no Internet, it took me ages to figure out which was the Left and Right Banks of the Seine, it’s when facing downstream, looking out towards the sea. Parisians learn this young, but there’s nothing obvious about it, using north and south, or east and west, would be much easier to determine from maps, which always indicate north, or should. One can’t see the sea, but there’s always the rule of Vs to figure out the current direction of a stream.
I visited Paris for the first time. I noticed most of the ladies were wearing a delicate chain with a pendant. I hadn’t worn mine in a long time. But I started wearing them when I returned home. I would love to see a video about how to wear jewelry like a Parisienne.
Will do!
Thank you for the clear descriptions and effective images/examples
I truly appreciate the Parisian style. Classy and elegant. Thank you for another great video!
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your style tips!
As always - fantastic! Thank you ❤️
Wonderful post - thank you!
Love these outfits and advice 😊
Greeting from London, Alice! I agree with your suggestions 100%. I’m so happy to find yourTH-cam channel!❤❤❤
Thank you for your tips. Most of my favourite pieces are from Paris and the UK. I like mixing both the chic and the quirky💕
Love the snake skin shoes !
Last week I bought warm beige sneakers instead of the usual white, and wow !! I LOVE them !!!
Lovely Alice!!! Great time ahead!!! ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This video made me realize that I do not know how to accessorize.....this is what's keeping my outfits simple instead of chic! I would *love* a video about shoes, purses, hats, belts, jewelry, etc and any tips!
Such great tips! I love the Parisian style. You are teaching me a lot. Perhaps another video just on accessories? Belts? Scarves? Sunglasses ❤
GREAT ADVICE!!!!
MANY THANKS!!!!
Your red lip color and nail color are the perfect shades for you! 🤩
Beautiful video. Great advice. Merci!
Thank you .❤
Thank you for another informative video! Can you tell us about the french wool coats please?
I love a good style video on sunday! It gave me some ideas for my outfits of the week. I have to try out a few new combinations in my wardrobe
I am also doing some change in my wardrobe. Will make video about the Parisian capsule wardrobe.
@@AliceinparisofficialAbsolutely, you already hinted at something like a capsule during the video, when you said that the wardrobe is build around classic pieces as the base and added accent pieces for interest. I'm very curious to see how it's done in practice
Great insightful content, Alice. I totally agree and can relate. That's why I've always been a big fan of this style and forever will. I grew up admiring how French women always look effortlessly chic and elegant for every occasion, learning and following these principles and guidelines throughout my life. Thank you 💕
I love the black tuxedo with high heels and red lipstick! This look is just perfection! ❤
I'm obsessed with your channel. So many fabulous tips.
thank you 🙏
Love this style.
Fascinating 🎉❤😊
"The anti-bimbo look" this made me laugh because It´s so true, as a French living abroad for 20 years I had forgotten....
In Québec, we say: ''décolleté'' un décolleté, but is is nice to incorporate french words in your Englisih videos. There are so many anglicisims. Great videos!
Bellissimo stile! J'adore le style rive gauche ❤
You deserve more subs. I like the pictures😉🌷
I like most of the French style ❣️But not low cut tops. Modesty is classy❣️🥰💕
Very interesting videó, told details.
Found your channel recently and I am pleased with your joie de vivre and vibrant videos. I am European living in Australia and I saved my European style. Pure Aussie style could be shocking also for Americans 😂
I love silk scarves and here in South Australian winter you don't need really wool scarves. Though merino and cashmere sweaters are must have.
I like Parisian mix and match style which is classic but not boring and stiff.
Going finally to Europe in mid August to see my daughter in Berlin and she suggested small trip to Paris🥰🥰🥰 We both have been in Paris but never together.
What could be the weather in Paris beginning of September?
Hello I will do a video about it September is still warm in Paris so pack like August but with some cardigan or layers. Thank you
Such great, helpful video, thank you so much! Alice, I am going to Paris 14th of September, for 3 nights, any suggestions on what to wear? I would appreciate your advice. Thank you again
Thank you will do a video about what to wear in Paris for fall
@@Aliceinparisofficial wonderful, cant wait, thank you very much
Well, Alice, what I need to do is watch these videos and make a list. I know I have all these items, but the trick is putting them together as you suggest. I LOVE those J. F. sunglasses at the end, by the way. But, the scarves -- I have so many beautiful silk scarves, including Ferragamo and Hermes, and never wear them. I am going to start doing it! Thank you. 🥰
Hello Liz thank you. I will do a video about all the different ways you can tie your scarf. Highy requested video and it will be the occasion to find new ways to wear them also.
@@Aliceinparisofficial Oh, that would be wonderful! No one does that. All your ideas have inspired me. Thank you!

Thank you for the video and I am dying to know what the Parisians think of the latest Louis Vuitton men's show. Merci ❤
ah ah I was thinking to make a video about it 😂😅
I would love to see u do men's guide but overall I learned a lot from the essence of this video.
I love logo ❤ nothing wrong with that
I see the French style as simple clothes in good-quality fabrics and not too much makeup that shows except for the bright lipstick.
Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like Parisian women have one dressy item and then keep a lot of other pieces of the outfit casual or simple.
Loved your earrings at 8:00.
Bonjour Alice, what is the blue blazer you wear in your video? Can you recommend some basic blazers in your next video?
Max Mara. Such a staple because I wear this one with so many different Jeans and colors. Yes maybe for an other Parisian style video I will see
Hi Alice, I will be in Paris in mid-August. So far the weather has been warm. Do you have any suggestions of what to pack?
Will do a video about what to pack..... I made video about what to wear in the summer in Paris. Check it out
Beautiful advice! Parisian Style- I usually google Chanel ambassador(s.)
thank you!
Could you make a Parisian summer style video, please?
Already posted check my videos
I will be going to Paris in about a week. Almost everything I will be bringing is black, white and grey. I have a vintage check pattern Burberry long trench -- What are your thoughts on the trench -- okay, not okay?
Hi Alice. Great video. Mid video you have footage of a women being interviewed by Harpers Bazar. Can you tell me who she is? x
Inès de la Fressange (Parisian Chic, a Style Guide) also in the video were Jeanne Damas (Rouge) and Caroline de Maigret ("How to be Parisian" and "Older, But Better, But Older")
Thank you
I love the sunglasses. Are they round? Brand?
Jimmy Fairly... Parisian brand
@@Aliceinparisofficial. ❤thank you.
Thanks @Alice, I got a great idea to wear a silky scarf tied in your back specially if you do not want to show your back completely
I really prefer italian style
Omg I thought the same, I am not Italian but nobody can beat their style in my humble opinion
❤
What is your lipstick?
We see them in lots of videos.
Bonjour Alice!
bonjour rive droite 16eme plutot bcbg moins boho. Style assez classique et tres bon chic bon genre.
@@Aliceinparisofficial merci ! Thank you. Please do a video on hair styles. Can long hair be compatible with Parisian chic ?
Cordialement.
We did quiet luxury way before it became a trend everywhere else 😊
I struggle selecting the correct trousers.
It sounds like me, I belong to this category of thinking on how to style.
Hear you about showing off just in one outfit👍😊.
Being skinny is important to.
The French and Italian ladies of all ages have an upright posture-Many British women could roll down the street a la the Yanks
I thought Rive Gauche meant any neighborhoods south of the river? Is it made up of only the 8, 9, 15 and 16?
Rive gauche 7, 6 15. Rive droite 16 8 9. I live in the 8th and I do prefer rive droite but just a question of preference and style
Hi, you are right, the left bank is ALL arrondissements (district) south of the river Seine (ie 5, 6, 7, 13, 14 and 15), and the rive droite (right bank) is made of all other arrondissements. This lady has a limited view of Paris. And a limited view of the way Parisian dress, it is all so "cliché".
@@Aliceinparisofficial yeah that’s what I thought but the picture you used only circled 8,9,15, and 16. I prefer droite as well
@@joymae only to illustrate :)
Cordialement.
You are very beautiful, beautiful skin, can you do a make up vid please
Your camera maybe would be better 10 cm higher than it is now😉🌷
Hi, I just want to ask a question, do French people when they travel consider the fashion in the country the are coming in, because is very disrespectful to humiliate people that are coming to France with their fashion style .
I always think of French women as walking around with croissant/baguette🥐, messy hair and red lipstick but light makeup and no bra.
We don’t eat croissant everyday, messy hair depends of your style, we only wear red lipstick for night out (it’s awkward during the day)
Can you please link where you bought your scarves, please? I love your style and your tips.
I find Parisian women are so sexy and classy
Hello yes Hermes I will do a video about affordable dupes for Hermes scarf
I was in Paris for 4 days recently and I was disappointed because I only saw about 10 chic ladies - mostly mid age & up. But to be fair Taylor Swift was there that weekend so maybe it was the Swiftees & tourists who dressed pathetically!
Decolete with red lips would be too much for a french woman. It’s a little putane style.)))
I wear Walmart,thanks.
I dont think it helps a swede to dress after your advice. We still will look like the cousin from the country and seldom chic. We lack the "style" in our walk, talk and looks
the echo in your videos makes it sound as if youre yelling 😬🙈
Sorry I really try to work ok the sound. Will lower the micro anyway for the next videos
you are very pretty but i have to be honest ....your mom's jeans @8:50 do NOT look chic. looks very out of date. it is not retro looking just old like you can't afford better jeans. a beautiful scarf cant compensate for old jeans.
You don’t sound French, accent wise.
You’re saying Boohoo, which is a very cheap brand, not Boho, which is that hippie style, it’s short for Bohemian, the first vowel is O, not U.
The French call it boohoo. Get over it.
❤
