A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. During his time off, SpongeBob has a knack for attracting trouble with his starfish best friend, Patrick. I’m a 23 year old man and Patrick and Man-Ray’s wallet conversation still makes me genuinely laugh to this day. I’ve encountered many Patricks in my life since first watching, so now this hits even harder.

@@jytvreal Tom Kenny wrote many SpongeBob songs, like ‘Don't Be A Jerk (It's Christmas)’ and co-wrote ‘best day ever’ among others. He’s really a talented song writer and he sounds really good while singing as SpongeBob!
Yeah, Tom Kenny was a comedian before he took up voice acting in the early 1990's.

My favorite Mermaid man and Barnacle boy episode. It’s so funny! ‘It’s not my wallet’ line always gets to me.
This is the best mermaid man and barnacle boy episode by far. I love pressure. Also Tom Kenny did stand up before.
Believe it or not, the voice actor for SpongeBob: Tom Kenny actually did stand up before, so it makes sense for SpongeBob to do stand up comedy in the Squirrel Jokes episode.

Yeah one thing you learn if you pay close attention is that Patrick is the biggest gaslighter lol. Spongebob does follow instructions but whenever he's with Patrick, Patrick makes sure to start a mess of whatever instructions were given and Spongebob only then follows along. Sandy's Rocket, he was willing to follow Sandy's instructions but then Patrick came along and ruined it. Also Sandy's hibernation, Spongebob wanting to not go in once Sandy left instructions, Patrick ignored them. Same here with Man Ray.

Not gonna lie, the look of pure shock/disappointment when SpongeBob burst back out on stage was genuinely hilarious and made me laugh. I'm glad you guys did this, you needed a good laugh after how traumatized you were after "The Mist." See you next time boys 😂
the reason those 2 can breath underwater was explain seasons later mermaidman's starfish on his nose allows him to breath and barnecle boy has barnecles in his through

Man, rewatching Man-Ray's debut episode made me realize why those artists on Twitter drew him... the way they did. 😅
There were a LOT of low angles in that episode.
The episode with Manray is one of first episodes I remember watching for SpongeBob. To be honest a lot of episodes in S2 I remember well, season 2 has a lot of incredible episodes.
I know Sandy Had to show SpongeBob. How making fun of one squirrel had to be, and that ugly form was a funny way to show out

I've seen a few videos saying that Patrick is actually the smartest in the show and just acts dumb to be friends with Spongebob or tricks people so he can get away with anything. You will see in later episodes that he isn't all that dumb, pretty sure he's playing a facade. Nick in this video was amazing with facial expressions keep it up 💗

Despite John Rhys-Davies still being alive, Man Ray's voice got replaced with Bob Joles starting with the video game Lights, Camera, Pants! released in 2005 and the episode "Mermaid Man vs. SpongeBob" in 2007. The reason for replacing John Rhys-Davies is unknown, although some say Bob Joles might have been an easier guy to get a hold of or the producers thought his Man Ray voice sounded better, but who really knows for sure?

@@andykishore In some ways, Joles' Man-Ray DOES sound better...but you can't forget the man who helped start it all.
As for why they replaced John...my theory is that the first couple of episodes that featured him as Man-Ray happened when Lord of the Rings was being filmed.
As a result, John may have had to be called away from the studio. This may have prompted the Nick execs to find an actor with a near similar voice tone but someone who was easier to get a hold of

Episode Trivia: In the “Pressure” episode, the scene when SpongeBob and Co. we’re taunting Sandy into breathing was a bit longer, but was actually cut down for time in the final.
I'm happy you and Nick truly enjoyed these classic SpongeBob episodes as those are my favorite like Man-Ray introduction, then Sandy and SpongeBob each challenge themselves.
That was such a missed opportunity to cut out the scene in the episode 'Pressure' where Patrick said "Sandy's a girl?". I thought that part was hilarious! 😂😂😂
Man these episodes still live on the nostalgia train as I crack up laughing at each moment throughout these watching along with you two 😂 as thanks for the laughs and great time within this show. Man Ray getting mad about Patrick's stupidity was very funny. And Spongebob shouldn't have made fun of Sandy with the squirrel jokes. Also Spongebob and friends are so lucky that Sandy saved them from the seagulls. And it's very heartwarming that the oyster got it's baby back in the end.

For Mermaid Man, he nearly drowned, but was rescued by mermaids, who gave the seashell that he wears on his nose because it allows him to breathe underwater. And with Barnacle Boy, he was scrubbing barnacles underwater, and Mermaid Man used his powers to draw barnacles into his body so that he could breathe underwater as well.
The scene with Man Ray and Patrick is legendary! Honestly, it’s the most iconic moment of the entire episode, absolutely hilarious, lol! 🤣🤣👏🏽👏🏽
