- Clarice Lispector was a Brazilian author who provided a unique and tender glimpse into the human condition through literature.
In this video I give a brief history of Clarice Lispector and my impressions of her book Água Viva, a poetic meditation on the nature of time, life, and our inevitable end.
Oooh I like the background info on the author before then getting into the book itself.
I'm so intrigued about this book now and had never heard of it. Thank you
This is actually the first vlog I've watched on books.. ever and I'm so glad for it! Can't wait for the next one
Thank you so much! I had so much fun making this and I'm already thinking of what to make next :)
Such impressive composure for a video-review neophyte-exceptionally cool…thanks,Wendy!
I'm a big fan of Lispector as well. I'm a big fan of stream-of-consciousness in general. And I'm also really enjoying the Benjamin Moser bio. Very engaging video, thank you.
Agua Viva is very much like making a stress ball out of the written word, it's what to read when you just want to grasp thoughts and feelings to squish and squeeze them; my copy is between the fiction and poetry sections of my library. Also, the author didn't have a desk, she would sit on a couch and then just place the typewriter in her lap, there's a statue of her in Recife doing exactly this. If you haven't explored the rest of her works, go with _Hour of the Star_ next, it is similarly short and poetic but has more of a storyline. Great vid, end by giving viewers a topic to comment on 🎬📖❤
I read Hour of the Star just before I read this one and I absolutely loved it! Thanks for the tip on giving viewers a topic to comment on. I did that in my newest video :)
