I like the idea of dark finish being able to see your ball mark , the shot forgiveness looks decent , thinned the ball a little on the 109 yard shot and still hit straight giving an opportunity to chip in or out for a bird.
I've been golfing more this year than in the past and would love having a nice set to help build my confidence! Great review and awesome to see the data from the simulator in the reviews!
I'm a medium golfer, playing 2x a week for a few years now, hcp 15, looking for a new set and your review really triggered me for this set. Like your honest and fair comments not trying to sell but give objective advice. Exactly what I needed. Would really want this as my new set
These look like some great clubs for the casual golfer. My driver recently broke and my irons are old as dirt. Been looking to upgrade to something a little nicer. These would be great to have.
I picked up the sport again after a good while of family responsibilities. But finally had a chance over these weird times to get back into the game and enjoy some distant exercise with friends. I've always owned second hand clubs and never had a chance to get fitted but I've taken the time to learn as much over these months and now I feel ready to upgrade to something "better". When I first saw these, the fact that there were NO online reviews always put me off. Thanks to you guys I feel a bit more inclined to give these a shot. I'm 5'6'' if that helps ;)
started golf during covid, picked up a second hand 90s big bertha set off facebook. ive been looking at these to replace those eyesores from my bag. they look great, and for a newbie like me, i dont care about the lack of adjustability. great review!
The Stix set looks gorgeous!!! I think their target audience is exactly for newer golfers...like myself! I'd love to have a nice, forgiving set like Stix!
i just started golf when my friend brought me to a driving range. As someone who has just gotten into the sport, I think the stix package is a great entry package. even though they lack the adjustability, these would satisfy beginners very well, simplicity is a good thing. The aesthetics definitely looks incredible, and certainly boost the confidence of a new golfer
Weekend golfers paradise I’d say! Having a good clean set which is also good looking/sleek is a confidence booster when addressing the ball. I agree with your review and reasoning 💯. Definitely aimed at a minimalist who’s not a name brand groupie looking to have a decent tool for the job/newer clean set to throw in the bag and get out with the crew and loose some fuckin balls along with testing the liver! My kind of company! Great video gents keep up the good work!
I think you guys explained this very well. I came across these and I am a new at all of this so you explained it very well and I love the black look that’s what caught me eye. I’m hoping to get a set soon and start playing. Thanks
Very interesting concept. Their set makeup is very much what i as a low 20’s handicap plays - 10.5 driver - 3w, 5w, 4h, 5i-PW, GW, SW, GW, P. Well almost - I live in the Reg and Senior flex range not Stiff. Then again one man’s R flex and be another’s Stiff or A flex. The black finish is way cool though and as I play graphite shafts in all but the putter, they would be at home in my hands. Love that you are showing clubs that are in the DTC market.
Outstanding review! I’ve been playing for about two years now and I’ve been itching to upgrade from the used set I got off Craigslist for 80 bucks! Lol having this set would definitely encourage me to go out and play more while turning some heads at the same time! Thank you!
I have become a bit obsessed with the idea of Stix. As someone who is just coming back to golf and using the beginning club set I used when I was 15 it is such a good concept. I dont want to pay $2k for a set as I am not good enough but want something decent. Glad companies like this exist now.
I like what Stix and Robin is doing. I think it's a nice concept. I think these can really build the confidence in someone's game, for a casual golfer or beginner. To me the price is a little high. You can get a nice beginner set for half that price, before their sale. The other sets also come with a bag. So, you need to think about that price as well. I have a few bags so it wouldn't be a big deal for myself but, for someone looking that's just starting it may start to add up. They look good, big fan of the blacked out clubs. My wife is wanting to get into golf and I don't see a women's set. Are these unisex clubs? Anyway, I'd love for my wife to be able to try these. Thanks for the opportunity guys!! Always dig your stuff!!! Can't wait to see what's going to happen in 2021 for you guys and all of the Golficity fam!!
I've been looking for a set of golf clubs to start golfing with my pops. It's something that I've tried to get into in the past but didn't really enjoy until now. Looking at the Stix set, I see that they fit my personal needs. I have some skill but I do need to start getting out to courses more to actually practice and hone my skills. I would really love these clubs to spend more time with my dad on the golf course (I share his clubs and I feel like it would be easier on both of us for me to get my own). I was looking for a good set of clubs that are slightly above the Callaway Strata clubs you mentioned in the video and I think you guys did a great job of explaining who these clubs would suit, which I think is me! :) These reviews are really helpful for a new golfer such as myself so please keep it up!
David, congrats...you're our winner! We love to see new golfers getting out there with family and playing more golf! Email us at contests[at]golficity.com so we can send your prize!
@@Golficity NO WAY!!! Thank you guys very much, my dad and I will be able to go out and play more often now that I have these! I've never won anything like this before and I'm so excited to try these out. :) I will email you right now!
These clubs look sick! Im just getting into golf and have been watching lots of videos on clubs and techniques for getting a better golf game. And looks wise i love these clubs! Also you saying that they are pretty forgiving would be perfect for me haha. I would love to to get these clubs
I have been golfing for years but I'm young and do not exactly have money. I have been using hand me down clubs (Driver, 3W, 3, 5, 7, PW, SW, putter) for years now and I have seen some sizeable improvement (recently broke 90). After seeing how much your time with Kevin Sprecker has helped your game and how your fitting sessions have allowed you to focus on improving the small things in your swing, I want to get fitted and get a lesson or a playing lesson. That is a big investment though. The thing that a set of clubs like these do is make me think. Should I spend upwards of $2,500 and get the perfect clubs for me, or should I save a bunch of money and get Stix. I think the target demographic is someone who plays/knows/watches TH-cam golfers a bit less than I do, but boy does saving at least $1,000 sound great to me. It's something that I will continue to consider and research to really determine if it is the right move for me. Great review guys, thanks.
My first set was a $220 Top Flight box set in July 2020 with a bag and 10 clubs. These looks similar to those clubs. Big chonky irons and wedges and a simple driver. Those had steel shafts though. I then “upgraded” to a used set of very old Lynx Black Cat irons that were well past their prime when I got them. But they are slightly more bladed so a decent upgrade and improved my game. I think Stix is attempting to forge a similar path as Vice. Coming under the price of the premium brands trying to build a hip party atmosphere following. I think they fit the brand new golfer. The problem with the cheapest box sets, as I learned, is you end up having to buy more clubs. With Stix you get a full set so you don’t have to buy more clubs. Just a bag. I also think new golfers might care more about the visual and don’t want to buy uses clubs. And these Stix clubs are aesthetically pleasing. And in the grand scheme $600 for a full set isn’t bad. I think for a new golfer spending less is better in case you don’t stick with the sport.
Love the look of the clubs. My only concern is how they will look after a few rounds. I bought a black wedge last year, and the face got pretty scuffed up after only a few rounds of golf. But..these clubs would be a perfect fit for me..and save me having to buy new clubs this year. Happy New Year guys. 🏌🏿😎👍
I'm a weekend warrior golfer that has an old Titleist iron set and a very old big Bertha driver. I've been looking for a full set without breaking the bank and these seem legit, thanks for the review
When you buy a beginner box set, you buy the beginner set problems as well. To keep a beginner set cheap, manufacturers have to cut costs and corners in terms of quality.( Generally ,the woods have cheap shafts and the irons are cast poorly.) So, being a non golf club member and a 2x a momth golfer with a higher handicap...these clubs are the perfect fit for someone like me.
Thanks for the review guys! It's a nice-looking set, I like the black finish and believe the putter style and grip is my preference, but I'm not sold on the driver design and the deals come with buying the whole set... so I'll be in the market for a little longer and watching more of your reviews.
i just bought a set of them good price. this will be my set for getting back into golf. IMHO much better than the Robin set just going off customer and pro reviews.
I really like the murdered out look of the clubs, seeing the results you guys were getting had me a bit concerned since the majority of higher handicap golfers seem to lose balls out to the right. Still though, for someone who plays a round or two every month for fun with friends or family, it looks like a really nice set.
I really like these new companies introducing sets that are between the "Walmart" sets and the higher-priced sets. I have a friend that wants to start golfing next season and I will definitely be pointing him in the direction of these. I love the look of the clubs and to me, simplicity is a good thing. If you've never been fitted for clubs or don't know what lie angle and hosel adjustments mean, all the different options can be confusing and overwhelming.
Think you are spot on with your conclusion. Shouldn't be in the same conversation as the big boys, but do seem better than the intro sets. I only manage to play about 10 times a year, off a 22 handicap so probably wouldn't be a bad fit for me tbh. Look smart, imagine they would scuff quite easily though.
I am a new golfer looking for a new set. I currently have a set of Wilson clubs I got on clearance at Academy in Louisiana. I would be interested in trying these out. The set I have are too long (my golf instructor pointed this out to me during a lesson). I really enjoyed the video!!!
This set looks good for a starter. I currently have a old Dunlop set I got when I was in 8th grade. Currently 6’1 and think the clubs might be too short for me. I’m torn between these and the Callaway Edge. The Edge are just so hard to find and when you do they are about $800~
I’ve looked at their website and thought they were a little over priced. Trying to get my wife a set and since she is 6’ tall she needs a men’s set because of the length. She is a beginner but she does not want to pay $600 for clubs. This would be a great fit for her though. Even with the stiff shaft because she swings pretty darn hard.
Love the black finish on the clubs. My younger brother has only started golf for a few months. Ever since Malaysia started it’s lockdown in March, every time the lockdown temporarily ends, the both of us try our best to practice and play as much as we can and his current set is a hand me down set that i use previously so this set looks good for him right now.
I think sets like theses are perfect for casual golfers like me who are looking to improve their game and get a sweet looking set of clubs for a great price. I've been looking into a new set of clubsand I've been wanting a stiff flex set of graphite clubs!
I think these would be an ideal fit for me. I’m so tired of telling people, “sorry I can’t play I don’t have any clubs otherwise I totally would.” Based on who you guys said these are marketed for- beginner golfers who want some quality insurance for their clubs’ lifespan as well as developmental growth in my game, I’m your guy. Please!? Lol thanks. Happy New Years. Cheers!
Great starter set for any age groups. Personally I think it would be best suited for older kids/teens looking to get into the game. They look decent and there not gonna break the bank for us parents purchasing a set for our kids getting into the game. I would get these for my son for sure.
Love the black. I think this set is suited for a lot of players. I see a lot of players with old bladed dunlop clubs with zero forgiveness who really need help. My first set was paradise clubs less than 500.00 new came with graphite. Woods lasted less than season. Irons lasted over 5 years.
They look like great beginner clubs. I’ve never personally had a new set of clubs. Only had second hand or mix match sets. Currently hitting 13 year old Ben hogan irons with some Walmart hybrids. So would definitely like to win these.
What’s up golfcity! I think these clubs have a ton of potential along with the stix company itself. I find that they are a great set for someone that has been around the game for a while but doesn’t want to break down and drop a couple grand on a top of the line set. Although it’s not a complete set with the bag and all, obtaining these clubs would be great motivation to play more and see how much these clubs would be able to help my game! I also started working at my local golf course and would love to have a set to be able to play with! Happy New Years from a young golfer!
I am really considering these golf clubs, thanks for the thorough review. However, you’ve now introduced me to Robin... down the rabbit hole I go! When are you picking the giveaway winner?
I think clubs like these are the gateway for newer golfers to get started. Also people like me who just started golfing again and have 20 plus year old clubs and need a fresh start on some sweet looking clubs. It's really hard for consistency when you have a multitude of different clubs in the bag. If you do pick me for those clubs, please don't send those ones, I'm left handed lol!!
Ik you guys prob already gave em away but I want to say those clubs look dope. As a guy who only is able to get in a couple of games of year and tries to make it out when he can but doesn’t want to drop the money on an expensive set but is sick of their old beginner clubs these clubs seem to be the way to go.
Honestly if you are paying 599 (650) for a set of clubs or even at their normal price of 799, you are far better waiting for the previous years models to be discounted. You will have many brands and designs to choose from, compared to being limited to clubs based on your height that you have never swung in your life. At least when you go to a golf store you get instant feedback (by hitting your ball in a simulation) and you can have an expert there with you hand and foot to answer all of your questions. Also, if you do not have the 650 & up kind of money, going to a store like 2nd Swing and buying used models while being able to test them with a professional is a heck more of an enjoyable experience. Also, those new to golf are not going to spend even this basic price of 650, they will at first go either well below that or pay up the ass to have the absolute best clubs.
I’ve been thinking about these clubs since they popped up on Instagram. I love the look. I think these would be good for a beginner player like me!!! Pick me!!!
Great review. I'm a fairly newer golfer but I was able to get out more last year than I ever have before. I'm hoping to make it a weekly thing this coming year and was looking to step up. I actually have the exact Strata set you showed several times. You helped make my decision. Thanks guys!
There a good fit for me because I've never owned a set brand new after recently getting into golf! Would love to be able to afford these 😍 maybe one day 😂
For beginners I don’t think they should want to adjust there clubs they need to be able to learn how to not think it’s the clubs fault and they might get confused and they will always be trying to adjusting it which u shouldn’t do
They look great and I would love to win a set however my only issue is the durability of the finish also I would like to comment on some content of the video I know what you meant probably buy new golfers however I am by no means a new golfer but do not always have the time or the money to play when I have the money I don’t have the time vice versa so I’ve been wanting a nice set of clubs but don’t want to drop $1500 but I also don’t want to spend $700 and they be crap lol like I said I like how they look I did go on their website and they do have options now to change the stiffness of the shafts
I think they have potential to be great! It’s always nice seeing aesthetically pleasing golf clubs that are more affordable than your top brands. Making something that looks nice and performs well while still not being overly priced is a great fit for a beginner golfer like me. I’m slowly getting into golf because it’s something I want to play when I’m older so I’ll be keeping my eye on sets like this!
I have recently started playing golf using old hand me down clubs from the 90’s. While I am picking it up I’ve been told by a club pro that I’m about 20 metres or 21.87 yards short of all the other golfers with those clubs and should look at something more modern if I start taking the game more seriously. So I think Stix would be a good upgrade for me, especially as Robin don’t currently ship to Australia. I really like the look of these clubs and would love to give them a try.
Premium beginner set is what I’m lookin for considering I don’t have a set..I have some old clubs from goodwill that I’ve been practicing a lot with and while I’m developing good feel I’m forsure lacking distance. Nice review guys!
Great idea for a new golfer! A lot different than the mismatched set of clubs many of us used to learn the game. The black finish is a good look too. Go Ducks!
They look nice. I have seen them on Instagram and honestly I wish I would have seen these when I was beginning. I have a buddy of mine looking to get into golf and I would love to get a set for him. Thank you for the review.
Very nice looking good clubs. Think they will have to progress with so R&D to get the right blend of looks and performance. And maybe some different shaft options would be good going forward. Love the content as always!!!
Direct to consumer brands definitely have their place in the market and some have been performing really well (eg. Sub70, Sell, Seed, Haywood). I think these clubs are perfect for new players that may have a swing on them that can take them away from the super game improvement stuff. Great vid.
I think this is a good set for a beginner moving on from like a yard sale kind of set. Awesome first new set of clubs. I’d love to Give them to my brother in law. He’s got an old unforgiving set of hand me down cobras and I think he’d love this!
Thought the clubs was for mainly a player like me had kids sold his Titleist and Big Bertha set kids are growing up getting back into golf by $10 bag of golf clubs at a garage sale played a couple of times again trying to find my swing now little girl wants a set of golf clubs my boy races dirt bike so he eats up most of my money so when I buy a set of clubs they have to go from a little girl so for me it's kind of at a cheap price just to get you out there and play with something that is just a little better than garage sale clubs but you know it's all about the Love of the game I'll play with whatever I can
I like the idea of dark finish being able to see your ball mark , the shot forgiveness looks decent , thinned the ball a little on the 109 yard shot and still hit straight giving an opportunity to chip in or out for a bird.

I like the look but do they loose the shine after a couple of hits i would love 2 give it a shot have a happy new year and may the new year be better
Rick Shields did a video on the set for reference.

Looked so good I bought the iron set 2 days ago. Great review just what I hoped they were. Playing 6 months, 54 yrs old

Spot on with the review. Great aesthetics, out of box works. Would love a set, the old Tommy Arms are starting to drag. Thanks for the info guys--

Question- I have a friend who wants to pay me $500 for my used Callaway Rogue X. Should I do it and upgrade to the Callaway Mavrik irons
Love that they didn’t pay you guys to review them that’s always a positive

Gotta love a honest review like this, thx. Next time maybe go to the actual course, no hate, good job. 👍
Think this might be my first set 👏
i just bought a set of them good price. this will be my set for getting back into golf. IMHO much better than the Robin set just going off customer and pro reviews.
Any thoughts between these and Robin?

Been looking hard at these. Best review so far.
Watch Rick Shiels review. he does a really good review too.
I love your channel keep on going with channel it’s great
I agree there is a spot for clubs like this and would love this set to try. Thanks for all the great content.

Honestly. Build a bag from used clubs. Twice the quality and half the price.
I am shopping for new clubs and the all blacked out look is speaking to me:)
I’ve looked at their website and thought they were a little over priced. Trying to get my wife a set and since she is 6’ tall she needs a men’s set because of the length.
Thanks for the review been looking at these.
Can the lie angle be changed after purchasing
We already picked our winner for this one...but glad you enjoyed the video. Definitely give Robin a look too. Both great options.
I love the black finish! I really enjoy seeing DTC golf brands get a chance to show what they are made of!
I think clubs like these are the gateway for newer golfers to get started. Also people like me who
just started golfing again and have 20 plus year old clubs and need a fresh start on some sweet looking clubs.
It's really hard for consistency when you have a multitude of different clubs in the bag.
If you do pick me for those clubs, please don't send those ones, I'm left handed lol!!
I dig the black, and the website having height on there. I'm a noob would like to give these a go sometime.
I have never been golfing before, but I was asked by a family friend to go with them soon and to buy a set of clubs.
I currently have a $300 set and am looking for an upgrade
I’ve been thinking about these clubs since they popped up on Instagram. I love the look. I think these would be good for a beginner player like me!!! Pick me!!!
I like the look and price of them I am new to golf so those things are important to me... I don't need flashy hahaha.
Would love to see if these could replace my TM burners, if not my nephew would definitely love them.
Of course not. Lol.
Thanks for the review. Think I made my mind up.
Thanks for the review. Honest
Awesome video guys! Golficity is the best golf channel I ve ever seen. Also saw the Stix on Rick Shiels channel.
🙌🏼
Yeah same
They look interesting, I believe it is for the high handicap and beginners. Great vid and honest review.
Where can I buy that sweet golficity hoodie?!?
Great review. I'm a fairly newer golfer but I was able to get out more last year than I ever have before. I'm hoping to make it a weekly thing this coming year and was looking to step up. I actually have the exact Strata set you showed several times. You helped make my decision. Thanks guys!
Are these better then a Top Flite set? I’ve definitely outgrown my top flite set. I play around 8-9 times a month. These clubs look interesting.
These are some cool clubs I really like the all black! Have been looking at them for a little now
There a good fit for me because I've never owned a set brand new after recently getting into golf! Would love to be able to afford these 😍 maybe one day 😂
My mom left mine outside in the rain, so now they got all rusty. Still work technically, just kinda sucks tbh. Nice video tho
These would be perfect for my game as a beginner.
I like the set. Looks pretty good for the price point.
great review guys
For beginners I don’t think they should want to adjust there clubs they need to be able to learn how to not think it’s the clubs fault and they might get confused and they will always be trying to adjusting it which u shouldn’t do
The black looks good but the price is way too high for beginners
Beginner sets need to be a solid $75.
The reason why golf will never be popular like basketball or football is because it is too expensive for people
Love the optishot content
Those hats though! Looks nice!
Mike looking at the clubs saying “Ok Frank, I wanna hit these already!” Lol!
I've been golfing for 20 years. My set is super old and I want a new set without spending a fortune. This may be the answer.
Just getting into the game of golf love the videos do you guys have any stickers for my collection ?
I’m going to be using hand me down muzunio JP825
I have recently started playing golf using old hand me down clubs from the 90’s. While I am picking it up I’ve been told by a club pro that I’m about 20 metres or 21.87 yards short of all the other golfers with those clubs and should look at something more modern if I start taking the game more seriously. So I think Stix would be a good upgrade for me, especially as Robin don’t currently ship to Australia. I really like the look of these clubs and would love to give them a try.
Seems like these could be the clubs for me, thanks!
The large price difference for the big names is due to advertising costs, not research and development costs.
Look at the Takomo T100, same price range
Premium beginner set is what I’m lookin for considering I don’t have a set..I have some old clubs from goodwill that I’ve been practicing a lot with and while I’m developing good feel I’m forsure lacking distance. Nice review guys!
I like the clubs but I wish the irons had steel shafts!
Great idea for a new golfer! A lot different than the mismatched set of clubs many of us used to learn the game. The black finish is a good look too. Go Ducks!
These look great and are better then my Strata clubs you keep showing. Great informative review.
Those look incredible!
