Love having perch as a warning sign for pike and musky. They scatter and when that happens, get ready for a thrill!
Play it safe. We've been fishing hard for the last 3 days and yesterday the ice deteriorated very badly. Then it rained all night. Even if the ice seems thick enough, its very weak with lots of air bubbles in it.
In southwest mn all the lakes opened up. Best thing to happen so now the ice can start over

That was a nice looking musky! Been watching your channel for a while now and am loving the underwater footage!
You'd have been minus your lure, your bait, and maybe even had your rod snapped in half, if that Musky would've taken your bait/lure combo! That thang was a BULL!!!!! The one thing I noticed, immediately, was that there were no Yellow Perch to be seen, anywhere, just before that big ole Musky swam on through. They skedaddled, quicker 'n' you could say "Scat"!

Gotta say I love the style of your videos. Straight to the point and straight to the fishing. Just a few lines about location and weather conditions to give some context. I don't need a lengthy intro playing rock music in the background. Fishing is not THAT exciting. And I definitely don't need a talking head for several minutes before bait even touches the water. I know which part of TH-cam I'm on. Thanks for keeping it real, and for not wasting my time to milk the algorithm.

So sick of this damn weather, we got 4" of rain and 50°. If i get to use my Strikemaster once this year it'll be a miracle.
Me too! I went to check my lakes after the 4 day rain and all open water. Unbelievable. Never seen anything like this. Going be a week till they get back together so guess its south mille lacs till the weather cooperates. Hope you get out more then once! Fingers crossed.

Thanks Ron! I would say the Pursuit is my favorite unit, especially for the price! My Aqua Vu HD 7i Pro is an amazing unit but doesn't record and almost double the price let alone battery life. Get the Marcum.

Shelter is an Otter XTH Pro Lodge. I do have a video on my channel about it. I bought it from their website but you can get them pretty much any outfitter store. It is a solid tent, I would recommend it.

The Aqua Vu unit itself is better but for picture quality the Marcum wins hands down and its cheaper.

Man, it was too! Every time I go to that lake its got it's own weather. Wind is always wipping out there.
There is a camera on Amazon which is a quad lens camera. Each lens would show the direction it is pointing. I believe it’s about $500 more than the single lens camera you are using. Do you think that is worth it or is just turning The single lens around good enough? Thanks again for your time and I love your channel. But my wife doesn’t because now I’m spending more money.🙂

@@Battlenut1 All is well for me but fishing not so much. More like where has winter been! This season has been a joke for ice fishing. I was off to a good start and then all that rain and warm weather around xmas made all my lakes to open water. They finally froze about 2 weeks ago but been out couple times and havent had any fish swim through the cam which is unheard of. I think they are confused too. Shallows have been vacant. I'll be on the grind this week to get a video made before we loose the ice again lol. Hope your on a better bite then me at them moment! Thanks for checking in.

I have tried rubber baits once. I do like tube jigs, I can try again this year. Live bait is most common around here for them.

how do you record underwater. also do you use go pro or another type of camera system. do you efit your video to a certain time frame and do you efit on a computer.

I have an underwater camera that records below (Marcum Pursuit HD) and then a GoPro and or Sony camera that records above. I edit them on a computer to put the video together.

Get any rain over there? Over here in western Mn it rained for 2 days non stop and the ice is pretty much gone. Sucks, especially during Christmas time.
Oh man, rained 4 straight days during xmas and 50 degrees. All my lakes are open water again. Just unbelievable. Time off and no ice fishing isn't cool. Going be week or 2 till back out there. Good thing mille lacs bays didnt loose much so ill hit that again till my local lakes are back.

Right! If it would of bit my sucker minnow that rod was capable of it but man that would of been a fight. Never caught something that big ice fishing.
