A tiny piece of elastic band on the hook before & after putting on worms keeps them from wriggling up the line or off the hook 😎☘️👍🍺

Catchin small pearch is pretty easy, it's the big ones that are tricky.

@@UncalBertExcretes i dont see whats the problem with boilies... i myself never tried them, only corn, but my friend catches all the fish on them (and yes, i have seen him catch a ton of fish, he isn't just talking out his arse)

Next time you guys come to Cornwall visit Tamar lakes. Upper Tamar has loads of perch up to well over 5lb, it's probably the premium perch and carp fishery in the southwest

When I make a wire trace I pass the wire through the cripm, then put the tagg end down in the crimp again. That way it won't ever be pulled out.
I like to make a double loop through the swivel eye then crimp it... VERY little pressure on the crimp this way... I make my pike traces like this... 😎👍☘️🍺

Fishing for perch is super popular in NYS Finger Lakes area , thousands of people fish for perch and typically eat them too . Perch in America do not get as large as the perch in the UK & Europe but look very similar .

In my opinion for perch, maggots and a float will do perfect for the smallers, worms for the medium sized and small deadbait like spratfish for the larger perch.
Could u do a vid on how to find spots in lake using maker floats and leads , personally that’s my weakest point in carp fishing and I’m sure a lot more carp anglers too, cheers

Whats the rod you're using there? looks like a Westin. I've got the W3 5-28g 9ft drop shot rod and the W3 5-15 T&C which i absolutley love. I have been looking at the W3 PowerTeez for bigger stuff. Great instructional video, love the stuff you guys put up.
Would you rather catch a 20 ib carp or 4 5ib perch? Also is there anywhere I can fish during closed season?
I am located close to a pond in Toronto, Canada that's full of perch, but they are rarely caught with the methods that are commonly used around here. I will have to adjust to the overall smaller size of North American perch, but think that these methods will help. Now if only bait shops here would carry maggots!

I caught 2days ago an 4 lb perch on a live bait shiner with a big pike float and caught some catfish layer
Great vid as always, what's you thoughts on high viz line( fluorescent coloured braid) do you think you should use flourocarbon between your braid n wire trace or do you think attaching it straight to your trace is fine.
If the water is really clear then a long flurocarbon length would definitely help!

You should use those big Dutch Perch like Jeremy Wade uses his "Once I was nearly impaled and eaten whole by an angry Arapaima" moment.
Try fishing with a carolina-rig, they work very well too
We've caught a few perch on carolina rigs, especially with soft-crayfish lures!
Are your perch as good eating as our yellow perch?best eating fish in north america
How this is different from Carolina rig?
I've been trying to let my lures sink to the bottom but every single time, it just gets caught in weeds. Is the water too shallow maybe? Does deeper water have less weeds?...
Can I keep perch inside my pond?
If its freshwater. Yes but you have to buy them as fry
With the drop shot lure, what happens if the perch/pike breaks the line above the hook? Then the perch will be tethered to the weight on the lake or river bed
I guess you didn't notice the lead is just attached without a knot...
Any plans on catfishing rigs?

Do you guys think I could trot a river with a larger float with prawns or should I stick to more natural baits for trotting
We find trotting for most small silverfish best with maggots. But you could try with worms or a prawn if going for bigger fish!

Guru drag line on our reels, normally 6lb for float fishing for carp!
I’m from the USA so I will just ask, are your perch the same species as the yellow perch here? If so they get much bigger where you are.
They're different species but very closely related! Usa: Perca flavescens / Uk: Perca fluviatilis :)

We and my mate went down the canal, I was dead baiting. He had a float on one rod and put the head of a smelt on the size 12. Had 3 Zander and lost 1😂
Watched this yesterday and dreamt about doing the worm and maggot and eventually after a few carp snagging one on my feeder rod 😂🤪 these things stick 😂🤦♂️

The perch looks like a punk rocker lol angry... I find them harder to de-hook as they go to the back of the mouth/,throat.

or you use the Italians strategy float put a maggot on the smallest hook ever and use a rod that is literally just a big piece of metal with a line attached to the thinner end of it. Yes this is how Italians fish they also don’t kill the fish with a knife they let them suffocate in plastic bags… I’m traumatized also no weight at all

If you can't catch perch give up fishing
Ive tried usin jigs befor an they get caught on snags in the water u cant see -_-
Jack Stratfull Your probably fishing too heavy mate . 2-3 gram jigheads on a size 2-8 hook and you will rarely snag if ever .
8lb mono or fluorocarbon mainline max or 6 - 12lb braid mainline max for casting distance and fall rate of your jig head and soft plastic . Also crush the barb of your jig head hook .
