Guys like him helped legitimize customs among sneakerheads, to where they're now often more desired than official releases. That's big, and his work deserves massive respect. Also, his work looks so damn official, in the literal sense. Like, you can't tell the shoe wasn't made by the actual sneaker company. Favorite Dank Custom? Probably the "96 ASG" Penny 1s, from when the ASG jerseys had the teal, cactus motif. Those are classic Dank; beautiful technical work and amazing idea/theme.

Been a fan of Jake for a while now love his work and would love to get my hands on my first ever pair of AM1 customs by the man himself! This is a beautiful interpretation on the cactus jack 1 put onto such a classic Nike silhouette. I can’t imagine the shoe needing anything else. Great work Dank.
I love using my Angelus paints. I first watched many of your you tube videos and now I use your paints for changing colours of shoes that I buy that have been lightly preowned. I also use your paints in touching up colour on gently used preowned designer leather purses. I love how great they go on and how long they last on the leather. I would be thrilled to win a pair of the shoes done by Jake Danklefs. His work is awesome. Plus owning a pair of Cactus Jack Air Max 1 shoes would be a thrill as well. This custom is amazing work. I love the little person touches that Jake puts on everything from the custom size tags to the labels on the boxes. Not only that but this mans love, knowledge and collection of Air Max is the best thing about him. I still watch his collection video from years back with Nice Kicks regularly and the pairs he has stashed away are beyond grails. I'd love to own a pair made by him so fingers crossed. Unlike Mr. MacGyver, your tools are slightly more sophisticated than duct tape and paperclips!
