I tried to get rid of that 'one drive' from directory in newgan manager, almost had a heart attack when I thought that I deleted my save, eventually gave up and did it with 'one drive' in it, and so far it looks like it works. Thanks a lot man, couldn't do it without you!
How to Fix As of Latest FM Update (12/11/2023) After generating the NewGen faces, find the config file. It should be at the bottom of wherever your regen faces are pulled from by NewGan. Open the config file with a text editor that supports Find and Replace. WordPad is usable. In the text editor, you want to Find all instances of "person/" and replace with "person/r-". The WordPad app may freeze for a bit while it does the thousands of processes. Depending on how many NewGen players/ how fast your computer is will change how fast your computer will replace the instances. Once that's done just save the file without changing the file name or location and resume following the instructions of the video. Reportedly, this will fix for 99% of NewGen faces but there may be a few stragglers.
I don't understand why some faces don't get replaced. It's mostly worked for me but like lot's of Japanese regens for example still have the fm face, not the newgan
Additional info. Preserve newgens did not worked for me. I needed to do workaround coping existing config file, making new one with not preserve but generate option. Then I put new config records into the end of old config file. Ir worked, I preserved old faces and generated new for new ones. Unfortunately config file will be bigger and bigger with each year (over 50 000 - 60 000 newgens each year).
What size database you running? Wow that many new players! Must be super slow 😔 There are a few nations that don't seem to work with the software, I hope that the author fixes this soon. Maybe add a comment on his post. Link is in the description. As for the work around yes you can do this & the file will get bigger but not sure why preserve didn't work for you. @@PRIISEK I have 2 stars in my database config. But i think the number of NewGens is also connected with a year. It is 4.2029. And I think I have something like 111 000 players. I just checked NewGen number increased and now it is 61 000 (probably it increases as maybe in some league this year newgens appeared a little later). It means over half of players are NEWGens (OMG). It would be great to find a way to somewhat "compact" this config to one player appearance as it means it will be over 150K... I think I will be generating in future pictures only for mine newgen players ;).

Sadly Newgan manager has so many unsuppoted countryes in fm23. For once spanish players doesnt change faces. And many more countryes are now supported. I used newgan for sereral years, but this year its totally broken. I hope someone will fix it

Hi. So with the 1st season you make an RFT ( called season 1 ) & you use GENERATE. Then on the 2nd season you need to make a new RFT say it's called ( season 2 ) you then run PRESERVE. Hopefully you understand. You must make a new RFT file for each season, it looks like you are using the same RFT & trying to run PRESERVE
With "Is newgen is not" selected in additional conditions it says 0 players found. When I unclick "is newgen is not" or set it to "Is newgen Is" the full list of players comes up again. How can I fix this or what am I doing wrong?
It sounds like you don't have the files extracted correctly or in NewGan you aren't pointing to the right directory. Maybe email me some screen shots of what you are seeing. priisek@outlook.com
So when i get a new round of newgens, just use the same profile and same rtf file? Sort the new newgens, ctrl A and P , and save it as the file you already have. Then just use `preserve`, and the reload skin`?

Hi Joe. Yes sounds to me that when you go into the search on the top right, you see a section near the bottom of that window, that has Exclude my players. You need to change that & you should see the figures on the top left change, as your players are added to your list of players. That figure will change each time you toggle the tick 👍 let me no 👊

Hi. So in the description is a directory link, 1st uninstall & then 2nd go to this link & delete the folders. Then try reinstall. Sounds like you have had a mis-install. Also as explained in the video, make sure you don't have ONE DRIVE INSTALLED or Dropbox. 👍
Once i can install new faces but when i wanted add faces for new players in next game year something go wrong... I make a mistake and click generated not a preserve...I can something fix it and reupload faces for all newgans?
Hi. Yes unfortunately Football Manager dropped an update & it's messed with all the Newgen names which currently means the Newgan software is not working but hopefully it will be updated soon. Thanks

On Mac and it says it cannot open the app cause it doesn't trust the developer. Tried changing the privacy and everything but it still doesn't work? anyone have a fix?

When I try to add a new round of youth intake with the 'preserve' option, all new players get a variety of only 2 faces... Had this 4 seasons in a row, so afterwards I had to generate a complete new file in order to fix this, losing the already generated faces before. What do I do wrong when I end up with every youth intake having only 2 different faces?

Newgan mamager app doesnt load on my Mac. Made sure to edit permissions and allow it but even with permissions set and "open anyway" selected it just wont open. Guttinf because i just need the newgen faces ti have my save setup perfectly :(
I did everything. Set up, but when I click "replace faces" nothing happens. I doubt it is so fast that I dont see anything = dont want to start for some reason. Did i need to left FM or it can be something else? I also downloaded older version but it said me that i need to update to 1.4 what I did. And I try to add it to FM23. EDIT: It was problem with doble catalog. I extracted it ti XXX folder in which it was again XXX folder. After coping it right the button works but still it did not worked at last fully but i am one step further :). Ye it do nothing even if it looks it generating something. Will update it if i will be able to change it

in my second season when i try to use preserve function it doesn't give new faces to the new newgens. So preserve not working but when i use generate it worked but obviously redoing previous newgens too

Hi. Facepacks are a little broken at the minute after FM updated the way Newgen are labelled in the background. You can use this video to make custom faces for your players . th-cam.com/video/npwAUKJ9gPI/w-d-xo.html But there is a special thing you need to do with replacing some code. Open the config. xml which is located in (Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\graphics\faces\FMNEWGANv2 + Update 1) with a text editor and use "search/replace" (CTRL + H) to find "/200" and replace with "/r-200" and hit "replace all". Then simply go onto FM and reload skin!
Normally the game will generate a folder, but sounds like it's not happened. So in the FM23 folder within documents, make a folder called graphics & then pop the stuff in there 👌

Hi. It sounds to me that you have had a bad install or something is blocking it opening, firewall security maybe. Uninstall & reinstall, there is a link in description to where the folder is saved, delete this & reinstall 👍
having a problem. when i install it, the files in the local disk C work fine like app, app_package and python folders are there. but these no app. like when i type newgan in the bottom left all that comes up is the installer. not sure if im just missing something but i can't find it anywhere and is very annoying the because app looks amazing

i'm having an issue where the "show pictures of players/staff who have been generated by the game" have regen faces when ticked, and if i turn it off they have the black silhouettes due to no image. is there a way to fix it or will they just need to be phased out over time?
If you email or go over to Twitter & message DF11. He will happily add any faces (if available) some staff just don't have photos, where players normally do. Hope this helps you 👊

Yes but some nations for some reason don't show up. Also make sure you have allow duplicates ticked. The maker needs to release an update to fix but not sure if or when
Hi. If they are wearing green, then you have picked the green kit option. Go through the DF11 website, link in description & have a look Newgen Facepack options. He has a ton of different colour options to pick from. Glad you have it working, makes so much difference to the game play 👌
@@PRIISEK I expected the kit would match the current club they are at rather than having to choose a specific colour? I am not using any other skins by the way...everything is stock other than this face kit. hmm also when I added some new leagues which I did a season ago, but are now activated, the faces are the old animations.
Hi. No when you pick the Facepack, you pick the colour or the random colours. When you add new leagues, it will add more players, so these wouldn't have been done on your original, so you will need to run again with preserve, so you keep your original & add the new newgens. Hope that helps 👌
@@PRIISEK ah okay, I noticed that Jack's (workthespace) his regens are showing the face bigger with the team colours in the background and you cant see any shirt.
My issue with trying to get this to work is that my sidebar looks nothing like that - only way I can find of getting to shortlist is via Scouting -> Shortlist and when I try to import the view there, it fails

For me it sort of works but when I ctrl+P and export to text the resulting rtf only has a few pages worth of names written and then tons of pages without being filled out with data. so just empty "boxes". The result is the first few dozen of faces being changed to the NewGan models but the rest being unaffected. If I export the newgens into web page instead of text, same effect. a few lines of names and then tons of unfilled boxes. I also exited reloaded game and save multiple times to experiment. No luck.
@@PRIISEK Hello. I did ctrl + A. Scrolled down to make sure. If I only highlighted like 12 then why would there be hundreds of blank "boxes" of unfilled info?
Strange. Maybe you need to leave it a little longer to link them all. I no I did it on my laptop & took a age for them to all tick. The screen normally sort of freezes till they all ticked.
@@PRIISEK Hey somehow I could resolve the issue. What I did was the following: Since giving ctrl+A more time did not help (also because ctrl+A highlighted all 1300 players instantly), I chose to just scroll manually down to the bottom of the list after hitting ctrl+A. Not to highlight while scrolling down, no. Just scrolling down. Everything is already highlighted/selected. Here the ctrl+P doesn't work so using the side scroller I quickly moved back up to the list and then hit ctrl+P. It worked there. The boxes are now completely filled. Strange huh? But I remembered from earlier installments that for some shortlist work I had to actually "see" all players hence needing to manually and painstakingly scroll scroll scroll .... to the bottom and then back up and then do the thing I wanted to do. Next time I'm gonna try doing it with the side scroller. 13xx players are not too much but as the save goes on normal scrolling is going to be untenable. (large database, 400k+ player count.)

@@PRIISEK Thing I is I didn't do anything incorrectly. I coped views and filters to my FM folder and than just installed the app. What am I possibly missing? as I said I had no problems with the previous version.
Did you delete the old stuff out 1st. Someone the other day still had old RTF files & somehow it conflicts. I don't no why. But might be worth clearing out & start from scratch. If no good, please email me & will hopefully get you fixed up 👌
@@PRIISEK I uninstalled the old version from the control panel and then installed the new version, nothing works. Even deleted the folder and installed again and nothing. I'm going to uninstall it again and restart my pc and see if that helps. I did have my FM game running in the background. not sure if that would conflict anything.
Sorry Priisek, i have some trouble with it. with the 1.3.1 version it give me the error notice "itamed folder is not present", with the 1.4.1 version doesn't do anything, is still that without doing nothing. i don't know what can i do.
@@VincPaul82 sounds like you need to uninstall & install again mate. Has been known to have a bad install. Start again. But you need to delete , there is a link in description to remove all files to start again 👍
It just won't work for me, simply won't work. I've followed your video, Zealand's video, the written instructions, everything. I do every step and no problem occurs when I do each step, it all goes fine, but then when I hit "Generate" on NewGanManager it says "Finished" after like 2 seconds but when I go and check in game the faces are not loaded (yes I did try to reload the skin). I don't know what to do, I'm going crazy here, I've tried with different facepacks, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I've tried with different profiles and saves, everything. I have everything in place but it just won't work, when I generate it takes 2 seconds and says finished but the faces are never there.

So each save will have different generated ID numbers. A lot of players will work on different saves. But ideally yes you would. But make sure you set up a new profile
Hey! Got a strange problem here. First few seasons in and the newgan app works well. Recently when I tried generating faces for my newgens I noticed many of them didn't get faces. Allowed duplicates and all that already. Checked the logs and it said it ran out of faces (no faces left for mapping) and so it skipped many players. So I changed to a different facepack, no luck. Changed to another facepack, but this time the app is stuck at "map players to" part. The app itself isn't frozen, just the progress bar. Very strange since it works perfectly back then, now it's got weird stuff like this
Hi. Yes there does appear to be limits when doing preserve. Just out of curiosity have you tried it with a fresh start (generate) does it fill in the blanks? 🤞 But I'm guessing that Maradona90 needs to do an update or a patch to allow more newgens 👍
@@PRIISEK In my occasion it worked for about 12-13 seasons. After that it stopped working completely. Even if i started a fresh season it doesn't create anything anymore. I noticed that even i deleted the old config file in DF11 Newgan folder, the new one created contains zero IDs

I followed it exactly and had same problem when I went to generate faces,SAMed folder missing.
On the first time it worked like a charme, now with a new savegame the print option is greyed out, weird.

When I try to add a new round of youth intake with the 'preserve' option, all new players get a variety of only 2 faces... Had this 4 seasons in a row, so afterwards I had to generate a complete new file in order to fix this, losing the already generated faces before. What do I do wrong when I end up with every youth intake having only 2 different faces?

Exactly same problem, tried different face packs, reinstall. there is always error saying "folder is missing africa or south america image directory". Did you found solution ?

Newgan mamager app doesnt load on my Mac. Made sure to edit permissions and allow it but even with permissions set and "open anyway" selected it just wont open. Guttinf because i just need the newgen faces ti have my save setup perfectly :(

I did everything. Set up, but when I click "replace faces" nothing happens. I doubt it is so fast that I dont see anything = dont want to start for some reason. Did i need to left FM or it can be something else? I also downloaded older version but it said me that i need to update to 1.4 what I did. And I try to add it to FM23.
EDIT: It was problem with doble catalog. I extracted it ti XXX folder in which it was again XXX folder. After coping it right the button works but still it did not worked at last fully but i am one step further :). Ye it do nothing even if it looks it generating something. Will update it if i will be able to change it

Now i wonder if there are some leftovers that i need to remove for this 1.4 faces :))

in my second season when i try to use preserve function it doesn't give new faces to the new newgens. So preserve not working but when i use generate it worked but obviously redoing previous newgens too
Yes it should work. Do you have allow duplicates ticked. If not you will run out of faces.

Hi. Facepacks are a little broken at the minute after FM updated the way Newgen are labelled in the background. You can use this video to make custom faces for your players . th-cam.com/video/npwAUKJ9gPI/w-d-xo.html
But there is a special thing you need to do with replacing some code. Open the config. xml which is located in (Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\graphics\faces\FMNEWGANv2 + Update 1) with a text editor and use "search/replace" (CTRL + H) to find "/200" and replace with "/r-200" and hit "replace all". Then simply go onto FM and reload skin!

Where does the Graphics folder come from with the pictures sub-folder in it? That's not in my FM23 folder
Normally the game will generate a folder, but sounds like it's not happened. So in the FM23 folder within documents, make a folder called graphics & then pop the stuff in there 👌

Hi. It sounds to me that you have had a bad install or something is blocking it opening, firewall security maybe. Uninstall & reinstall, there is a link in description to where the folder is saved, delete this & reinstall 👍

having a problem. when i install it, the files in the local disk C work fine like app, app_package and python folders are there. but these no app. like when i type newgan in the bottom left all that comes up is the installer. not sure if im just missing something but i can't find it anywhere and is very annoying the because app looks amazing
I had the Same issue, installed the 1.3.0 and it worked. At 1.3.1 it dient install properly I guess

i'm having an issue where the "show pictures of players/staff who have been generated by the game" have regen faces when ticked, and if i turn it off they have the black silhouettes due to no image. is there a way to fix it or will they just need to be phased out over time?
If you email or go over to Twitter & message DF11. He will happily add any faces (if available) some staff just don't have photos, where players normally do. Hope this helps you 👊

Yes but some nations for some reason don't show up. Also make sure you have allow duplicates ticked. The maker needs to release an update to fix but not sure if or when

okay I figured it out...but everyone is wearing green now, I wish they would be wearing their current team colours. Is there a way to fix this?
Hi. If they are wearing green, then you have picked the green kit option. Go through the DF11 website, link in description & have a look Newgen Facepack options. He has a ton of different colour options to pick from. Glad you have it working, makes so much difference to the game play 👌
@@PRIISEK I expected the kit would match the current club they are at rather than having to choose a specific colour? I am not using any other skins by the way...everything is stock other than this face kit. hmm also when I added some new leagues which I did a season ago, but are now activated, the faces are the old animations.
Hi. No when you pick the Facepack, you pick the colour or the random colours.
When you add new leagues, it will add more players, so these wouldn't have been done on your original, so you will need to run again with preserve, so you keep your original & add the new newgens. Hope that helps 👌

Do you have One drive or drop box installed on your PC? For some reason they block NewGan from opening. Uninstall & all be able to run 👍

My issue with trying to get this to work is that my sidebar looks nothing like that - only way I can find of getting to shortlist is via Scouting -> Shortlist and when I try to import the view there, it fails

Hi! For me it sort of works but when I ctrl+P and export to text the resulting rtf only has a few pages worth of names written and then tons of pages without being filled out with data. so just empty "boxes". The result is the first few dozen of faces being changed to the NewGan models but the rest being unaffected. If I export the newgens into web page instead of text, same effect. a few lines of names and then tons of unfilled boxes. I also exited reloaded game and save multiple times to experiment. No luck.
Hi. You want ctrl + A to do all the pages. If you do ctrl + p. You will only get that one page. Hope that helps. 👍

Strange. Maybe you need to leave it a little longer to link them all. I no I did it on my laptop & took a age for them to all tick. The screen normally sort of freezes till they all ticked.
@@PRIISEK Hey somehow I could resolve the issue. What I did was the following: Since giving ctrl+A more time did not help (also because ctrl+A highlighted all 1300 players instantly), I chose to just scroll manually down to the bottom of the list after hitting ctrl+A. Not to highlight while scrolling down, no. Just scrolling down. Everything is already highlighted/selected. Here the ctrl+P doesn't work so using the side scroller I quickly moved back up to the list and then hit ctrl+P. It worked there. The boxes are now completely filled. Strange huh? But I remembered from earlier installments that for some shortlist work I had to actually "see" all players hence needing to manually and painstakingly scroll scroll scroll .... to the bottom and then back up and then do the thing I wanted to do. Next time I'm gonna try doing it with the side scroller. 13xx players are not too much but as the save goes on normal scrolling is going to be untenable. (large database, 400k+ player count.)

@@PRIISEK Thing I is I didn't do anything incorrectly. I coped views and filters to my FM folder and than just installed the app. What am I possibly missing? as I said I had no problems with the previous version.
Did you delete the old stuff out 1st. Someone the other day still had old RTF files & somehow it conflicts. I don't no why. But might be worth clearing out & start from scratch. If no good, please email me & will hopefully get you fixed up 👌
@@PRIISEK I uninstalled the old version from the control panel and then installed the new version, nothing works. Even deleted the folder and installed again and nothing. I'm going to uninstall it again and restart my pc and see if that helps. I did have my FM game running in the background. not sure if that would conflict anything.

So if you wish to remove the updated faces, just delete the RTF files & reload your skin. This will remove the NewGan faces. 👌

@@VincPaul82 sounds like you need to uninstall & install again mate. Has been known to have a bad install. Start again. But you need to delete , there is a link in description to remove all files to start again 👍

It just won't work for me, simply won't work. I've followed your video, Zealand's video, the written instructions, everything. I do every step and no problem occurs when I do each step, it all goes fine, but then when I hit "Generate" on NewGanManager it says "Finished" after like 2 seconds but when I go and check in game the faces are not loaded (yes I did try to reload the skin). I don't know what to do, I'm going crazy here, I've tried with different facepacks, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I've tried with different profiles and saves, everything. I have everything in place but it just won't work, when I generate it takes 2 seconds and says finished but the faces are never there.

So each save will have different generated ID numbers. A lot of players will work on different saves. But ideally yes you would. But make sure you set up a new profile

when i open the newgan installer it just comes up with finish, i click finish and nothing happens

Hey! Got a strange problem here. First few seasons in and the newgan app works well. Recently when I tried generating faces for my newgens I noticed many of them didn't get faces. Allowed duplicates and all that already. Checked the logs and it said it ran out of faces (no faces left for mapping) and so it skipped many players. So I changed to a different facepack, no luck. Changed to another facepack, but this time the app is stuck at "map players to" part. The app itself isn't frozen, just the progress bar. Very strange since it works perfectly back then, now it's got weird stuff like this
Hi. Yes there does appear to be limits when doing preserve. Just out of curiosity have you tried it with a fresh start (generate) does it fill in the blanks? 🤞
But I'm guessing that Maradona90 needs to do an update or a patch to allow more newgens 👍

@@PRIISEK In my occasion it worked for about 12-13 seasons. After that it stopped working completely. Even if i started a fresh season it doesn't create anything anymore. I noticed that even i deleted the old config file in DF11 Newgan folder, the new one created contains zero IDs
