  • Myself, Jamie and Craig are back to speak about the 2391 practical test/exam in episode 3 of this mini series.
    We cover what to expect in the test centre, the process to follow and our best tips for a successful outcome.
    Jamie and Craig are both lecturers and thanks once again to them for coming on to chat about this on the apprentice 121 podcast.

    From experience it's more like 'If it looks the same doesn't mean it tastes the same'

    Thank you for the video Gents, I’m a firm believer in asking questions between each other, no shame in asking questions, we all have different experience from different industries and situations

    I think what is difficult at the present moment in time is the crossover between the 2020 and the 2022 amendment. As soon as that brown book came in I swatted up on that, last week I sat the 2391-52 at Warwick house and we were working to the blue book. Bit of a grey area atm and it’s the schedule of inspections I’ve always struggled with. It’s so important to have a good understanding of what they all actually mean!!

      The schedule of inspections are usually a good clue if the inspector knows what they are doing lol.

    At 12:30 you couldn't be anymore spot on. I was so worried about test condition testing that I didn't leave enough time or brain cells for the paper work. And the practical was ao easy in the end. But due to poorly completed EICR paperwork I almost failed. Last minute I said I need to rewrite. Paperwork is deceptively tough in this exam.

      Thanks for sharing your experience! Really appreciate it and glad you got through the 2391! Paperwork is always a bloody menace!

    Good that you can use your own tester.

    One thing I have learned from this and a number of electrical videos is the frequency of sparks not being "neurotypical" and a willingness to share the fact. Quite a few with dyslexia and for me I am Autistic.

      This is something I have spoken about before. It's seems fairly common among trades.

    How does the DNO do safe isolation when working on the head / cutout fuse for a domestic 90amp?

    Here's a question. You are testing a ring final circuit and have records showing it to be 62 metres long. You establish it has been installed using 4mm / 1.5mm twin and earth cable. You measure the r1 using a Low Resistance Ohm Meter and glean the reading of 0.32 ohms. What is your expected r2 reading without measurement?

      Doing some end to end calculations there Monty?

    • @A121podcast
      @A121podcast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4/1.5 2.666667
      Multiply r1 by that for r2
