He is 100% ready for a solo debut. It's been 5 years since his debut. There are a lot of artists under SM that debuted as solo before the 5 years mark. Personally this should have been labeled as his solo debut especially since he will promote it on music shows and SM really gave him quite a budget for the MV.
Oh we very much want Ten to have a solo debut and career. Unfortunately, SM can be kinda late with that for their artists sometimes, and I think we’re gonna have to wait a bit for any NCT solo debut, but these Stations are nice to have in the meantime. Ten is such a versatile artist, i’m obsessed. This song is beautiful, I love the vocals, the choreography, the sets and outfits, etc. Ten is so unique and his personality is EVERYWHERE here. I think of all NCT members, Ten would probably be the one to have a super successful solo career (while still being successful with NCT/WayV of course), like Baekhyun with EXO and Taemin with SHINee.

A lot of people treated it as like a love song for rebellious youth (which it is too), but as TEN clarified himself, the point of the song was to show his "naked" self, meaning stripping himself of all the expectations and preconceived image that people had on him. Fr, I agree that SM should've really released it not as part of SM STATION 'coz the song is really good, I found myself vibing to the song as soon as I heard it, plus compared to some idols who had solos this song has lyrics that are all in english, so I really think that if they released it on their main channel it could've gained more views as many international fans can vibe with it. SM should fully support my guy, he is the ultimate idol. Ten doing solo work alongside WayV to me is a good idea especially since he himself likes to be busy and said he wants more schedules. It hasn't really been that long since WayV or SuperM debuted but since Ten debuted in NCTU since 2016 I honestly think he's earned the right to get more solo work. Plus since they don't really touch on Ten's type or style of music in NCT or WayV maybe even SuperM having Ten have the chance to slowly but surely put out more solo stuff that he likes and wants would benefit everyone.

For me, he should pursue this solo career since his music slaps and i felt like it's like a baekhyun kinda thing. He could excel in this genre that he's making since it's really good music. And NCT has a completely different genre.... and this one suits him more as a soloist.
As for shinee, the first member to release solo album is taemin. ACE was released in 2014 or 6 years after his debut with shinee. In exo, the first member to go solo is lay with lose control in 2016. It was 4 years after his debut with exo. So I guess it's not "too early" for him to go solo but maybe we have to wait a lil bit longer for his solo album or anything. But this station is good too, I mean this song does well on chart and he's going to music shows with this song so he would get more recognition as well so we're ok with taking baby steps. I get frustrated at People hating on SM for taking too long to give their idols solo debuts. It’s obvious that SM loves Ten and is guaranteed an official solo debut. He participated on Hit the Stage Has had two previous SM station songs/MVs well before WayV’s debut. And often gets a big spotlight solo moments in WayV title MVs and in NCT/SuperM stuff. Honestly SM is probably just waiting for Ten to figure out when he thinks is the best time.

Also Paint me naked is not a love song (even though it sounds like that at least for the first listen, but Ten said it's ok if we see it like that, since love is love and beautiful) but it is more a song about him shedding other people's clothing or views of him based off of their perceptions or ideas about him and painting himself with fresh colours, being true to who he really is, which when you hear him talk about his art while being interviewed about his Ten x Represent Collab you can fully understand what he means. I firmly hope we get more solo Ten while he's with WayV and SuperM so people can really see who Ten is. Yangyang said this song is so Ten's style lol. He said people at the company were shocked. Ten said he just wanted to have fun on set not the usual acting cool being sexy Ten that people are used to or probably excepted. Same with regards to the choreo. That's why everything is light (by Ten's standards 😂) and fun instead of extreme. I personally love this and realize even more that with Ten his creativity is limitless so we should never know what to expect but irregardless it's gonna be amazing. There's a performance video and dance practice behind the scenes out it's dope. Ten is legit showing us how he can use move effortlessly as a dancer with this song, plus it shows off his vocals and visuals and his artistry. He's a very unique guy and him getting to promote this is legit the best thing ever. We get to see his duality in this song. He's sexy and cute legit Ten lol. The song is also alternative pop rock.
Ten just likes to take his shirt off... this I know but honestly this is such a US boy group song. And his high note is higher than my self esteem
For me, he should pursue this solo career since his music slaps and i felt like it's like a baekhyun kinda thing. He could excel in this genre that he's making since it's really good music. And NCT has a completely different genre.... and this one suits him more as a soloist.
We have to take into account when Ten first debuted cause he's got some years under his belt already.
As for shinee, the first member to release solo album is taemin. ACE was released in 2014 or 6 years after his debut with shinee. In exo, the first member to go solo is lay with lose control in 2016. It was 4 years after his debut with exo. So I guess it's not "too early" for him to go solo but maybe we have to wait a lil bit longer for his solo album or anything. But this station is good too, I mean this song does well on chart and he's going to music shows with this song so he would get more recognition as well so we're ok with taking baby steps. Let him try any genres, so he knows what he wants for his solo album in the future. Stay healthy, you!
Ten already has lots of recognition, he's in lots of NCT units and project as well as in SuperM and now he has his own solo song. Not sure what more recognition he needs compared to other NCT members that doesn't stand out much too.

I get frustrated at People hating on SM for taking too long to give their idols solo debuts. It’s obvious that SM loves Ten and is guaranteed an official solo debut. He participated on Hit the Stage Has had two previous SM station songs/MVs well before WayV’s debut. And often gets a big spotlight solo moments in WayV title MVs and in NCT/SuperM stuff. Honestly SM is probably just waiting for Ten to figure out when he thinks is the best time.
YES, I totally agree with you! He was figuring it out for himself. Like it takes a long time to get to know yourself not to mention when he is literally good at EVERYTHING and has unlimited potential. anyway, just wanna say that I agree. He will get there eventually on his own terms.
don't forget that ten is the only origin sm rookies with no fixed unit for almost 3 yrs...i feel like sm give only ten station in 2017 and 2018 just to console him for being neglected..like if you are a good company and not sinophobic, do you really want to hid ten in the basements considering he's too talented and was the most popular member in 7th sense era..
