I've eaten a lot of bread from from all over the world. Some are good, others are bad but King's Hawaiian bread is hands down the best bread I have ever eaten. There are others who claims to be Hawaiian bread but they are not even close to the taste and texture of this wonderful bread. I never pass up a chance to buy it whenever I'm at the grocery store.
I work for Kings Hawaiian and can honestly tell you that it's a great company to work for. It feels as though you are part of a family. The Taira family are humble and really care about their employees. When your bosses treat you well, you just want to work hard and it shows in the way the company progresses and grows as time goes by. I hope that i can retire from Kings Hawaiian.❤✌️
1:37 this was the location of the King’s Bakery diner in Honolulu. As of this month that place is being redeveloped. I don’t know who the new tenant or tenants will be. 🤞
We LOVE LOVE LOVE 'Kings Hawaiian' bread/rolls! They remind me of a sweet, Greek Easter bread called 'Tsoureki' that my grandmother used to bake for our family many years ago! I've even gone as far as to jokingly say that "there must be crack in this bread", since I usually can't just only eat one or two in one sitting!
Best bread in the universe. Nothing better a kings original Hawaiian roll with pan fried honey ham in sweet and sour or brown sugar butter. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Nice post! In Greece, this bread is called 'Tsoureki', which is an old school Easter bread with eggs placed on top as well! My guess is that this recipe had it's own different (but similar in ways) versions throughout Europe, over the centuries.
i agree, born and raised and living in Hawaii... i feel the name was commercialized and wrongfully re-titled and known as 'Hawaiian Sweet Bread', when we who live in Hawaii KNOW and call it Portuguese Sweet Bread. I hate it when people from the mainland and other areas of the world call it Hawaiian Sweet Bread.
@@hawaiiguy1 It's NOT exclusively Portuguese! This sweet bread, even in small 'roll form', had different recipes and versions throughout much of Europe and The Middle East, going back centuries! Hawaii, nor Portugal, can claim it 'as their own'. So if Hawaii wants to call it 'Hawaiian bread' for marketing purposes, they're not taking it from Portugal only.
@@AudiophileTubes understand...but the marketing of this as Hawaiian Sweet Bread --even for marketing purposes is 'deceptive', and though I am born and raised in Hawaii...i feel it is a dishonor to the origin .
@@hawaiiguy1 I see your point. But sweet bread, in general as I mentioned, has been around a long long time, in many countries, so 'Kings Hawaiian' would never lose in court. The recipe is so universal, and with so many variations, no country can really claim it as their own. Not even Portugal. It's a non-issue, really.
Crazy I'm from the UK but saw a meme about these and on my research he's saying he took the recipe from a Portuguese person but what I'm hearing here is he appropriated and claimed a Portuguese recipe. Call it petals oorugese or something wtf.
HANDS DOWN! king’s Hawaiian bread is the best bread out there
Yeah have my moms rolls there better then this
AHHHHH! Go to the Azores, this is where the "Hawaiian Bread" comes from. I'm a native, and I can say that this is a ripoff

Will you reopen your bakery in Hawaii? You should. I am sure there are a lot of tourists looking for it - you won't lose money.

The. Best. Bread. Ever.
The Taira clan rules this Establishment. Where are the Minamotos at????
They went bankrupt.
And it has a longer shelf life than Wonder Bread.

I'm going to but one for my self >:D
Not only did Americans steal the land but sport it out on thanksgiving along with everything else they stole
Ha! I live in oakwood. Well all be darn.
By far the best bread
Billion dollar company 👍🏽
So they stole the recipe idea from a Portuguese woman. So it's not Hawaiian bread, it's remodeled Portuguese bread.
STOLE. would have been way more respectful if he didn't package it as a hawaiian product because that's quite clearly not it
Correct!
The bread is a diabetes powerhouse, meaning it has given more people diabetes than cotton candy
That bread looks like Pan De Leche, a national bread in the Philippines. His family doesn't look Portuguese at all .
I had to use one as toilet paper yesterday because the stores are out btw it clogged up my toilet.
lol
