It feels like its been a very long time since we set foot on this part of the Scottish coast! We're under the lighthouse, looking for tiny pieces of perfect sea glass for our Spring birdnest jewellery making! Spring has sprung - we're waiting for the sun to follow suit! The air is filled with birdsong and it has inspired a return to an old favorite - Nicole's Bird Nests necklace!
This place is always a marvel - filled with gems, moved here when the earth was still settling down in this part of the world - volcanic activity, pyroclastic flows, and glacial activity shaped the landscape around us, and left us with this beach, full of crystalline treasure... We may be here for the tiny treasures, but we can't leave without finding a wee agate or two!
Join us in Tayport for a new adventure with Scottish Mudlarking as we invite in the Spring tides, fill nests with promises of energy and Summer's warmth, and reflect on the warm glow of natures beauty.
We hope you enjoyed today's video... Thank you so much!

Ohh how I love agate,it is the stone that speaks to me!
Jasper?
I’ve never found jasper,I wish I had.
There is just something precious about the semi-precious stones that outshine the so called ‘precious’ ones.
Leave the ‘precious’ for Sméagol,I’ll take semiprecious every time!
Oh we'll make sure to take some Jasper for you next time! We very rarely take pebbles but agates are simply stunning ! :)
ELO and The Proclaimers on the same bill - you're on about the cathode ray tubes, my granddad made a living repairing TV's; he had a TV with only a 9 inch screen and watched the Coronation on 1953 - with 30 other people in one room....yeh ! Quite a productive day, STRAIGHT to the car!
If there is one thing about music, it's always in our house with Craig playing guitar every day :) Oh those old tv's, just look at the thickness of the glass!!
We Always see your finds perfectly as you worry we cant see😎 but we can, worry not👍🙂
Aww thank you! The little screen on the camera is so tiny that you sometimes can't actually see what you are filming ;)
10:12 I refer to those kind of jokes as "running gags", because there's lots of opportunities to use them, and sometimes they make others gag. 🤣🤣🤣 10:29 "side, bawtawm". 😜😝
Side Bawtawm! Lol , now that made me laugh ;) It's always good to have a laugh x
Very beautiful sea glass , I have always loved the blues, purple, red, yellow and orange mostly all the lesser found glass. Greens are beautiful too 😊 Have a lovely weekend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Oh orange is such a rare colour! I think it's 1 in every 20.000 pieces of sea glass :)
What a beautiful day at the beach...I'm envious sitting here in eastern Canada where we had freezing rain and snow yesterday but we've not had a normal winter here ...far less snow than were use to so I'm looking forward to what may be an early spring....some geese are back already...that was a nice assortment of sea glass and those bird nests are awesome....looking forward to next week ...Karl
Oh yes so far we've had quite a mild winter, although 6 years ago we had a snowstorm that was called 'The beast from the East' ... roundabout this time of the year, so you never know if we are past the coldest weather or if it'll come late ... I hope I haven't jinxed it now! We also noticed some geese coming back. I always greet them when they leave and then when I see them coming back, there is something a little sad in their flights!
Craig is so silly. "waaaxy" He may have gone around the bend one time too many. 😂
😂❤
Lol possibly ;) Waaaxxxy! It's that scene in Elf where he says 'Francisco' ...
Love your tours, so relaxing and a lot to look at. I like best when you looking for treasures on the beach, love the Agats and Jasper, and the "clean" glass/rocks and the ocean. so cute with the those birdnest. Thank`s.
Thanks so much Inger! Spring is def coming - the birds have started singing in the morning.... hopefully the tides are good for us to go filming at the beach soon :)
What a beautiful place!
It's always so peaceful there !!
This wonderful adventure was so fun to tag along on
Thank you so much :)
Hi Nicole and Craig nice finds
Thank you so much Joan :)
Es ist immer so schoen ruhig and them Strand :)
The birds' nests are so sweet, and the agates on that beach are lovely. :-)
It's always so lovely and peaceful there :)
Beautiful bird song and location. Thank you
It was so lovely listening to all the birds sing :)
Enjoyed the video. “Around the bend” is appropriate for this time of year 😅 SO done with the winter drearies, but spring comes and goes. But the birds are singing and early spring flowers and trees are blooming! 🎉 yay for the letter Q and all the beautiful glass ! Have a great week
Oh yes we could do with some more sunshine too :) The birds have started to sing in the morning now, so Spring is def coming! Have a lovely week Joan !
That was some pretty sea glass. Good finds . Your friend shirley from new Bern, north carolina u.s.a. take care and stay well.❤❤❤and 😅😅😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Shirley is a lovely name. Did you know some people use a middle name on youtube? haha😂
We love that place! It's always so peaceful there :)
You both have so much fun in your videos, thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them!
Love the seafoam color sea glass!!
My favourite colour too :)
Oh my gosh I love lighthouses. My state of Michigan has more lighthouses than any other state in the USA.
Oh that's amazing Sharon! Would love to visit the lighthouses :)
I love lighthouse beach. ❤
The pieces of seaglass are gorgeous! Unfortunately not many small pieces this time.
When you have the bends, you will get nitrogen in your blood, when you are coming to fast to the surface when you're diving. 😉
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, filled with sunshine and happiness.
Sending lots of love and a big hug, xoxo ❤, Ilona
It's such an amazing and peaceful place to be. The river Tay has such a gentle current, where the Sea and the river meet... Have a lovely weekend Ilona! x
Hello Craig and Nicole! Really enjoying your new video this morning. I'm glad to know spring has sprung somewhere. It's definitely not here in northern Michigan as it's currently snowing again. I loved seeing all the lovely sea glass.
Thank you for taking us along on this adventure.
Hope the weather in Michigan is a little better now :) The sun is coming through here now, but it's still very cold !! Brrrr
I would make a nest out of round colored rocks.
Great idea!
Have you seen the board pirate stream. St kits has lots of small bits of glass. I wish I could go looking for mermaid jewels again. So love your shows. Love the bird song.
We follow Ky on instagram :)
blessings!❤ California is not quite in Spring, 2 more weeks, tho sometimes we have called "Easter freeze." But cottonwoods are blooming, new leaves sprouting!
Oh yes I saw the snow in California!! Pussywillow is coming through here now , which always reminds me of Easter ... my mom and I used to collect it and decorate the branches with hand painted , blown out eggs :)
Small agates might look good in that bird nest setting.
Oh if we find more than one they really would look amazing! I have to check our finds :)
14:51 I would have taken the dark stone with the 2 lines on the left side of the screen.
We so rarely take pebbles :) but we have some with faces on them!
You really went around the bend 😂. Great day out. Thanks for taking me with you. ♥️ xxoo
We certainly did ;) You didn't even see the bits where we kept talking about it !!! xoxo
I do love finding knife handles, but what to do with them? Mine are sitting in an old plastic pot on my kitchen worktop, all 16 of them! I’m told there will be a huge tide on Monday and the sea down here is very rough already, should be some good finds next week 🤞
Hmm, hope, you are led to a purpose!
Funnily enough I was just sorting through bags and bags of sea glass yesterday and found 4 knife handles ;) And a bag of Buckies!! High tides you say ... maybe it's about time we came down your way soon!
be cool if you did a vid where you are pretending to have the bends
😄❤
Lol! We'll have to see about that ;)
Can we look for glass. Craig spends so much time talking you don't get much walking and looking in
For longtime subscribers, like me, this channel is as much about the personalities of, and dynamic between Craig & Nicole as it is about finding anything. 🥰 Sorry you find it boring. 😮💨Perhaps you'd be happier watching the Bored Pirate. He finds tons of sea glass. 😁
@@noraleestone2859These two are extremely rare, educated, polite, soft spoken, cheerful, I could go on and on...❤🙂
Thank you so much Noralee! Very kind and supportive :) x
Thanks so much Juney! That is such a kind comment , we really appreciate it :) x
These two are the channel & without their banter finding glass would really be boring. I look forward to Craig’s wacky sense of humor. Sure hope they never change.
Bored. Bye
Bye!!
