Ross's facial expressions, Phoebe's blunt statements, Rachel's irresponsible yet caring nature, Joey's innocence, Monica's maturity, Chandler's love vis-a-vis for Monica and ofcourse sarcasm even in serious moments is just what I did not know I would root for so badly.
For me Phoebe was the best actor among the whole group

Mine is when Joey turns vegetarian for Phoebe.
My most favourite thing in FRIENDS would always be Chandler's character development. He went from blowing up dates, fear of commitment, unnecessary breakups, existential crisis, someone we all thought would get married at the very end or won't get married at all to most loving husband to Monica, getting his life together, made up with his parents, and a loving father. The life he always yearned for and thought he would never have but was only one who did at the end.
But two things in him that never changed was his immaculate sarcasm and that he was a great friend throughout no matter what.

The biggest reason for its success was equal amount of space to all the six characters. You will definitely be able to relate to one character.

The characters are shallow. For example, Monica and Rachael could deliver each other's dialogue and jokes and it wouldn't be out of character. If you don't believe me; in the Mad About You crossover in season 1, Monica and Rachael pretend to be each other and it feels perfectly natural because their characters are just that shallow. The writers didn't write funny characters, they wrote funny jokes (or at least attempt to be funny) and had characters saying those jokes.
Yeah i read it somewhere that makers used to make a pie chart or something so that all 6 actors get appropriate time onscreen and dialogues and all .
F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a happy, safe and comfortable home that we can go back at any point in life. I learned to laugh at myself after watching friends.
This show helped me fight depression so it will be forever closed to my heart...

The second most surprising part of the Reunion was Mr & Mrs Geller sitting in the audience and also Mr Heckles's appearance and saying "You owe me a cat", The first most surprising will always be Jen and David crushing on each other 😀❤️

I was happy seeing Mathew Perry there. After going through so many hardships in the past few years & even when the show was airing, it's good to see him sitting there & laughing with his co-stars. Chandler will always be my fav character & his humorous & sarcastic demeanor has calmed me every single time I watched FRIENDS. Hope that he knows how much we all love him & that he himself becomes as much as happy as he had made us.
The theme song " Ill be there for you" was indicative of the relationship between the 6 friends but my take on why this show became what it is is because they were there for us the audience . They were Our friends right in our living rooms . And atleast to me , thats why this show means so much to us.

The reunion was beautiful in itself.. we didn't want an episode but just to see the faces together once again and walking down that nostalgic road😍😍😍😍i cried and laughed.. i still rewatch episodes almost everyday and laugh hard.. this is never going to end❤️

The best example of how perfect the cast was the Pivot scene . As Reese said , the scene was so simple on paper but it was their acting that made the scene funny .

I think because of this insecurity, he made a bit of mannerisms and body humor when the dialogue was a little bland, that eventually made people laugh✌️
While watching the reunion, it was like whenever they mentioned any of their memories, your brain goes "BOOM". The whole episode comes streaming in front of your mind. I get Jammy when he said, he has the show memorized to the level of embarrassment but at the same time it is not embarrassing. Coz that's how it goes when FRIENDS have helped you tackle the big life situations.
The reunion felt like a warm hug. Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc ❤️❤️

Friends was an introduction to American tv for my 15 year old self- and it was dreamy,hilarious and comfortable. I think the love for this tv show is the love for the emotion it made all of us feel rather than for its acting or writing - which is such a rare accomplishment for a show ❤️

My favourites are two specific moments. The one where Joey realizes that Chandler and Monica spent the weekend together. His bulged eyes, him being speechless and pointing his finger at the two made me laugh extremely hard. The one where Phoebe saw Monica and Chandler kissing and she said "Oh my eyes, my eyes" and then Ross just jumping into their dance not knowing what is going with his little sister..😂😂
While watching Friends Reunion, the clap girl holding back her tears before filming the final scene caught me really off-guard. Before I realized it, I was bawling uncontrollably. Just like you, I know the show by heart. Because, whether I'm feeling down or just simply bored, I always find myself picking a random episode and watching it.

You won't believe me but I never watched FRIENDS directly. Ever. I watched it vicariously through my sister who used to snatch the remote from me to put on the channel on which it was telecast and it was through such vicarious watching that I became fascinated by it.

The quiz and the poker game , "PIVOT" , "I was making FAJITAS" , the entire Chandler and Joey dynamic . I cried my eyes out when Phoebe had a moment with the triplets before giving them away and the last scene.
I love the office and B99 , but friends is iconic , and for a good reason. I watch it and I just long for this pandemic to end because it reminds me of all the fun I used to have with my friends , playing games and cracking dumb jokes lol. This show is like a big warm hug in a cool winter night. Familiar and comfortable ❤️

1. When Joey came back to hug Chandler right before leaving the apartment
2. Chandler's speech to the sarogesi lady (I still cry everytime I watch it)
3. Awkwardness between Mike and Ross after girls left for a girls night out.
4. Mondler proposal
5. Phobe wedding vows

I completely agree with your arguments about judging any old show or movie now. But this is also true for Indian movies also .
But still many Indian movies haven't changed their formula remaking old movies like coolie no.1 judwaa and even in new ones they still have regressive dialogues and scenes.
Well in my opinion, the most adorable aspect of the REUNION was that it portrayed the bond between the cast off screen, which indeed was nowhere less than what it was onscreen back in the 90s. From David Schwimmer entering the sets to Matthew Perry, followed everybody sitting in the living room area like a group of college friends would sit and reminisce their old good days. That moment when Matt Le Blanc explained some prank he did on Courtney and then all of them ended up in a hearty laugh gives us a very to-date natural vibe. Imagine you meeting your bunch of best friends from college after decades, yes! that was the vibe the REUNION gave. Nothing less, nothing more, just PERFECT. ❤️
I think frienda helps a lot of people in some ways that even their friends and family couldn't. For example, I fought my depression and loneliness through friends. I have watched it 8 times😅

It's not a perfect show, neither it is the funniest but everytime you watch it you never get bored, you feel at home. There might be some scenes which were problematic but there were wholesome scenes in abundance. Not my favorite show but I still get the same comfort watching it again and again.

It was extremely emotional and fun at the same time. Matt wiping courtney's tears, seeing the Parents in the audience and seeing them Jen almost cried, Knowing about David and Jen were crushing over eachother. The scene were director yelled 'Cut' and they both continued hugging eachother was so so emotional. All of them watching the bloopers and laughing was just so pure and then the Huddle ❤

Tbh I don't hate the show. I watched a few episodes and it really wasn't my type. I get why people like it tho, It's their comfort show, just as BBT or B99 are mine. But I also see a lot of hate. I think mere hating on anything and everything has become cool now !! I watched friends and still do sometimes BECAUSE it is silly and fun. It's like how we go back to a movie like Andaz Apna Apna not for its intellectual writing but because of its mere silliness. The example of Hera Pheri was also perfectly pointed out by you
Similarly with Welcome or 3 Idiots, no matter how many times we watch it we will just love the silliness and will not mind watching it on cable tv whenever it comes.

Its dumb fun but it's fun, It has a special place in all of our heart, the friends where literally our friends when we were the awkward teenagers going to college 😄 I remember my favourite episode was 'the one with the two parties' when Rachel's mom shows up and Monica slams the door, she says "Chinese menu guy, forgot the menus" and then Chandler runs up to her and says "So basically just a Chinese Guy" 🤣🤣🤣 that joke cracks me up all the time.
That’s my fav episode too! With Ross trying to bring Dr Green’s stuff from monica and Rachel’s apartment, making Rachel’s mom think that rachel fell in love with a guy just like her dad😂😂😂

Friends is one of those sitcoms that is immune to criticism because it is universally loved. You can tear apart all the aspects of why it isn't intelligent but you can never take its soul out. It's a feel good sitcom that will be your friend always. Every character is so unique. There's never a dull moment. It's one of those shows that will live on for generations. Nobody goes "ah I wish it had this and that", we just accept and enjoy it. Ross' sensitivity and charm, Rachel's beauty and style, Phoebe's adorable eccentricity, Monica's perfectionism, Joey's childlike antics and Chandler's sarcasm will stay alive in our hearts forever. No other show can replicate it successfully.
If not for Ekta Kapoor, Indian television too would be remembered for delivering several epoch-making gems like Malgudi Days, Nukkad, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Yeh Jo Hain Zindagi, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shri Krishna, Udaan, Hum Log, Buniyaad, Hip Hip Hurray!, etc.

The reunion was an extremely awaited episode, and honestly, it made me smile, laugh and I was constantly entertained. Obviously the episode could have been a bit better considering how long the fans had to wait and I might have more enjoyed the six playing the fictional characters from the show, but what we got instead was also pretty memorable, satisfying and wonderful. In my opinion if they would have played their characters, that wouldn't have had that impact now. Seeing them coming together and re living that moment and talking about those days, telling us the bts stories was also very fun😋
I think they didn't go into the characters cuz they liked the way the ended the show, it gave everyone they're happy ending. And also seeeing fifty year old Lisa and Matt play Phoebe and Joey would have been a bit cringe. The reunion was exactly what I wanted

People make it objective, but there is no 'best show'. You are allowed to like or dislike Friends, The Office or B99, it's your choice, the jokes you relate to. People don't need to put down others on something so subjective.

I watched 2 episodes and left it,
then I watched 7 episodes and left it again.
Now I have watched all seasons at least 10-12times. IT TAKES TIME!
The show is like that, it takes time but when you are into it, you sink in and never afloat.
Just imagine guys, no one is going to make a show like this again. FRIENDS just left a legacy.
One best thing about the show was that everybody acted in scene just the way they would've reacted if they were real. Even if any character does not have a dialogue in the scene their reactions made the scene awesome. You can watch each episode many times just by focusing on character and it still comes out as something new...
The starting guitar strings tana na na na na na na...take me back to a highly cherished time period in life.
For me the best memory is ....1. One with the Prom Video(obvious the last moment where they kissed)....2.When Rachel tells Ross at the beach that she didn't stop loving him.....nd yeah for emotional one..When Phoebe gave her triplets...

Even after all these years , friends always calms me down in any kind of stress like literally this show has helped me at my worst time , and the reunion was everything that I needed in these hardtimes💜 ....and those who hate on this without even watching a single episode , I only have one thing to say .. you don't deserve this show, also ..va fa Napoli !😏

Friends isn't a series, it emotion, knowingly unknowingly it became so close to heart that it started feel like they're family and that emotional moment when the season ends nothing can ever replace that to me❤️

I was watching the reunion because of BTS appearance, but Friends is really amazing. I haven't watched the series ever but I was able to connect with the cast immediately. It's really heart warming

For smart and layered sitcoms, people should look into Arrested Development and Community, both having many episodes directed by the Russo Brothers.
who says this show wasnt intellectual enough i mean the layering the growth of characters amazes me everytime ,i am a kind of peraon who easily gets bored with evwrything ,the only thing i have stucked to is friends show it gives you certain calmness which not even a peraon can give
