Carving this penguin is very easy and fast

This time I made a simple wooden sculpture. Easy woodcarving and easy painting. There were several carving options, and I settled on the easiest one.
I used only my knife and an aspen branch. The block is 45-60mm in height and 25-30mm in width. For paint, I used watercolor.

About my knife:
For wood carving, I used my regular whittling knife which I made myself; the blade length is 40 mm, and the overall length of the knife is 130 mm.
For beginners:
Using a short piece of branch can be dangerous for beginners. So, I recommend trying to use a long and comfortable piece, and trim it at the end.

@@lauracoccia8623 In this video, I use simple watercolors. But sometimes, I use acrylic paints, if you're unsure, they are the best choice. Watercolors often look unsuccessful.

дуже круті пінгвінчики! вчора замовив свій перший ніж і скоро приступлю до практики) Цікавить наскільки таке фарбування аквареллю стійке і практичне ( думав, що така фарба лише для школярів )

Акрилові краще. Однак мені подобається фарбувати аквареллю. Вони завжди під рукою і мені їх не шкода. Вони легкі в користуванні і чудово підходять для липи. Але не для твердого дерева (їх тяжко наносити і вони легко стираються). Також для глянцю і довговічності можна покрити фігурку лаком. Радий, що вам сподобалась моя робота. Бажаю вдалої різьби.
