Yeah, is like crying over someone moving your cheese. The west is having a hard time accepting that China is now the dominant power in the world today. The other guy keeps complaining about China cleaning out the mid-west but forgot to mention the fact that American companies closed them down and made tons of money using the cheap labor available in China. China does not depend on the dollar, you can keep telling yourselves this fantasy stories about China needing oil or dollars, they don't and have been buying things in around the world with the yuan...there is no economic collapse in China, stop the fantasy guys...it's laughable :)

The problem isn’t anything that China is doing. The problem is what the US isn’t doing. China had a practical approach to building its country and being competitive. The US was sending poor kids to die in a rich man’s war. China invested in their human capital, we invested in what?

The China threat is completely a made-up created by American ruling class. Unfortunately this made-up was also created to distract the ruled classes in the west away from the enormous wealth disparity. So it practically traps the entire US led west by not intending to fix any of their actual socioeconomic problems.
This will not end up well as it does not seem to be effective disrupting China's rise physically while it does hurt the western world physically, unless the US has the ball to launch a hot war, which can highly likely be escalated to a H-bomb exchange in a few hours, against China.

Hypocrisy, at its best, a losing argument, when the host starts with Xinjiang, when the greatest atrocities had been committed by USA on the native Americans, who had a population of 10 million 240 years ago were massacred over a period of time to just 250 000 by the beginning of the 20th century, stealing and possessing the country.
As to bringing industry back to the USA, its wishful thinking, with all these sanctions, the trade with China has increased by 30%, it is going to beat all records this year. The queue of ships out side a USA ports are 90% Chinese goods for the Christmas and New Year. The shelfs of the supermarkets are already bare.
What is the problem of China, doing better than the USA, surely it is not God's prerogative that USA should lead the world. Whats wrong with a multipolar world. It would be better, it would allow the USA a much earned rest from 228 years of war, having only 16 years of rest since forceful occupation of the native American lands.
This was supposed to be a discussion on the economics of the USA, but its China bashing, just like the clowns in the congress.

The West's response to and demonisation of China's rise as an economic giant is bordering on hysteria. Knowing Chinese pysche and traditions I opine that China is only interested in lifting its populace out of poverty and promoting national pride no thanks to its bitter experience of the "century of humiliation'. China unlike America has always preferred peaceful ways of spreading its influence and settling foreign disputes notwithstanding a fierce desire to protect its territories. The world would be a better place if the English speaking bloc quit its confrontational stance thereby pushing China into the arms of other anti American countries such as Iran.

At 21:50 Luke states that if China can’t pay its debt they are screwed. China is now the world’s largest creditor nation. Can you explain who they wouldn’t be able to pay debts to? Also, China appears to be becoming more self-sufficient by the day. And they have oil deals with both Iraq and Iran now. The USA better start securing resources, bringing some manufacturing back home, and our government needs to cut out the ‘communist’/‘stakeholder’ system shifts in which 40% of the country is getting angrier by the day, or we are screwed.

for way too long now America has used economic sanctions as undeclared acts of war. The $US hegemony and SWIFT have made this possible. But they've over played this particular hand, and nations on the receiving end of these sanctions are scrambling for alternatives to trading in $US. So what happens as nations increasingly trade in currencies other than the $US? Will America find it as easy as it does now to print $US out of nothing? Will it find it as easy to continue to fund its incessant overseas military adventures? Cos if it can't, then it will have shot itself in the foot with its economic sanctions. And the American Empire may stumble.

Both China and Russia are smart enough to know who they would like to trust. What's happening today is because US has lost its credibility in many countries due to its foreign policies in the last 30+ years. With more educated populations in the world, they are able to make their judgement on who are their friends. Years ago, many young people in China considered US the lighthouse of the world. After so many events in the US and actions/wars started by the US, they question the true intentions of the US and call the US the "lighthouse" with a subtle smile.

Re Grant Williams and valuations in the early 1980s
I remember selling tax exempt Muni bonds to a retail customer in 1982.
It was a Aaa rated PHA, maybe 3.00% issued in the 1960s.
The customer bought it at maybe .40 - .50. He quipped "I'm going to be the first guy to ever make money on this thing"
That's what the 1970s did to financial assets.

the US industrialists shifted their factories to make big bucks. They did. But this move made the US working class poor. The big bucks made in China by US capitalists were never redistributed to the US masses. There is no US government policy, will to do so, under the name of free capitalist economy. Winner takes all. Socialist fair distribution is frowned upon by the very people who are being marginalized. So the US economic problem is not caused by China, as accused by US politicians. The people must be more educated, wake up n choose a fair system

In 1970 the building trade union were screaming about the lost of US manufacturing. We built the manufacturing plant. For decades we screamed BUY American my whole career. Now you cannot find things made in America. In America we pay our people not to work; so why should they go to work. Low paid workers without insurance need medical. There is a trench (low pay with little to no benefits) in the climb to better jobs. Many large employers are not paying benefits and taxes for immigrant employees, and the immigrants are just trying to survive. My union gave me mandatory 4 years of apprenticeship education and years journeymen classes to increase my knowledge and skills. In America we need 2 years of free trade schooling or free 2 years of college.

Wealth inequality from too much debt expanding the gap. Since 1971, US Debt up 72.5x, real estate, stocks, bonds, health care, education, up 34x, labor up 12x, all due to inflation, debasement, planned and implemented. Minimum wage in 1966 was one ounce of silver at $1.25. In 2021, minimum wage is $15 per hour, one HALF an ounce, down over 50%. Wages are suppressed for forty years. This is the traditional typical outcome of inflation until it breaks in WAR. Prepare yourself and protect yourself.

What's amazing is that the right and the left have way more in common than they realize. Their fixes to it all, mainly income inequality, are different so that's the fight among them. I see the left as wanting government to just "give" people all that they want, health care, education, and even money (UBI) whereas the right wants the jobs back so they can work to pay for all that they want. I like the right's fix more than the left, because if the left gets their way, the gov't will own the people. If the right gets their way, the gov't could force businesses to care for their employees (maybe pro union govt, for example)... people would be free to move among companies so neither business or gov't owns the people.
