- Incredible demo, tailored to the sudden stormy weather on Day 2 of Defenders of Liberty Airshow at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. The pilot is none other than Captain Aimee "Rebel" Fiedler, the gorgeous female pilot of the USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team for the 2023 season. So glad I made the trip for my first out of state airshow!

AIMEE... you're TOO CooL 😎!! When I was stationed at CARSWELL AFB ( back when it was an AFB), I would watch F-16s do maneuvers every chance I got!! Being a lowly enlisted man 😂, I lived in the on-base dorms. When the F-16s flew over... the building would shake - NO BS! F-16 has and always will be my favorite USAF, as well as, US Miltary Fighter Jet!! You, "CAPTAIN FIEDLER" make flying this AWESOME JET look as easy as riding a bicycle 🚲... BUT IT'S NOT!!! KUDOS!!!

If I am correct this Viper is from Shaw AFB S.C. Attached to the 79th TFS Tigers. I served with the 79th at RAF Upper Heyford UK 1973-1977 when they flew F-111E's

I was working for Boeing aircraft out of castle a.f.b. as a civilian in 1969 there. Long damn time. Sheet metal repair on b52"s. Wife and I lived in bossier city as newly weds. Drove from California, was there for a year.

I served in the USAF from 94 to 02. We had our issues/problems and have always been the joke of the other branches for having the best of everything and being sloppy in our dress, and standards which we deserved ( for the most part). However we have always been excellent at the objective, and lethal on target period. We produced some of the best pilots ever, and our PJs and CCT are at the tip of the spear. The salute of this pilot (Which is abysmal). A simple formation of the body, but one that most of us at least from my generation consider to be of the least we can do to show respect to one an other. When we present ourselves to the public in this format. Our dress, hair, and Yes our salute say a lot about the what/who we represent.
Land and sea agree tho, yous ain't no joke when they need your help. Thank you ALL branches for your service! God bless.

I was a Material Facilities Specialist in the Air Force. i had the opportunity to go inside a B 52, a refueler, looked into the cockpit of several fighter aircraft. no wonder it takes years to fly one. your surrounded by gauges, switches, instruments. i salute our pilots! and thank all past, present, and future military!!
