You are very decent for how you stopped and went out of your way to check on that dog. 40 years ago, in the next town, going maybe 15 mph, a dog came from between parked cars and I hit it. I pulled over fearing the worst and I just watched that dog run away as fast as it could. I hope it was alright. Yesterday, one of my cats got caught in my electric recliner couch and screamed so bad. That couch is 250 lbs and I needed both hands to lift it. I tried to reverse the mechanism. I thought the worst and that the cat had terrible injuries. It got free but ran on 3 legs. It went hiding under a bed. 1/2 hour later, it came out and after some good food, the cat was as fine as could be. Animals are tough. Best of luck.
Good of you to check on the dog. Very few would especially walking into a strange neighborhood. Get you a set of traction boards for the low spots. They could come in handy also if you get stuck. MERRY CHRISTMAS. 👍🏻🇺🇸

Yeah you should definitely check it out. Great weather nice people but it is crowded, so not for everyone. I personally like to have a lot of space myself and somehow quartzite still works for me. I usually find sites where I feel really comfortable. 🌵🌲
Imperial Dam LTVA north of Yuma. 4 dump stations, 7 potable water, 12 trash dumpster, and flush toilets. T.K. Jones camp ground and boat launch. Has hot showers for a buck. About mile past the LTVA entrance. Mail service and package delivery to the Christian service center for a donation. About a mile before the LTVA entrance. You are 30 to 40 minutes from Yuma. 3 Wal-Marts, Sam's Club, RV dealers and parts, tons of restaurants, and just about anything else you may need or want. Also next to the Army Proven Grounds. Non military can access the shoppette (7-11 style store), gas station, laundry, propane, hair salon, and restaurant (holidays only).
You did far more than most would have by following up on the dog's welfare. Good job! I've been in Q for almost a month, staying at the LTVAs. I have mixed feelings about it. So many people ... I'm not sure $180 is worth what we get now.
Quartzsite is the place to be this time of year! Wish I was there lol…. I’m in rainy cold Northern California working but starting Friday I have a week off and we’re going to Joshua tree national Park, which will be lovely.
I hit a dog on a backroad two years ago. I had come up over the crest of a hill, the dog was right along the side of the road at the bottom, and a quick stop while towing that trailer was not an option. Well, sure enough, it ran out, with an unhappy ending. That really put me in a bad place for a couple days, but even more so for the owners. I did go to find them, and we located the dog a little ways back in the woods. Never want to relive that experience. :'(

Good man for at least checking. But you wouldn’t have been liable. But at least letting the owner know it was hit. But that’s where your responsibility ends.
I was thinking if I got the vibe that the owner was not a good owner, maybe I could take the dog to the vet myself. That’s why I wanted to see the dog.
Poor doggie😢 hope she is ok. Sad about the other dog too. Reminds me of Kilo, a neighborhood dog. I tried to save him but the owners turned him loose one day and there was no chance. Made me so angry they didn’t even bury him. I have such a soft heart for pets❤
I was ready to instantly adopt two dogs! Ha that would’ve been wild. At first, I just assumed they were wild desert dogs. But they pretty quickly ran home. 🌵🌲🐕🦺🐕
Why don't you get the system to raise the axle on the trailer etc. You might know it as Flip Your Axles. That will raise your trailer height to keep from damaging the important parts like sewer etc
