I wish that authors of the multiple Winterhold mods could combine their efforts. There are some terrific options now. Ideally it would be great if the city of Winterhold had its own cell, like Whiterun or Markarth. That would give more space to flesh this place out. Winterhold has always felt like an afterthought.
This is showed us how bethesda literally being lazy to make the several city to be iconic and memorable, its the modding community once again can deliver such amazing work with this beloved game. Thanks to modders
@Doom Slayer they made the mistake of prioritizing consoles firts and foremost. Clearly their engine at the very beginning wasn't that cut out for such job to begin with.
They made the game for the PS3, which had 256 MB of VRAM and RAM, and the Xbox 360 which had 512 MB shared between both CPU and GPU. So it's not surprising that they couldn't go crazy with the cities. They were not being "lazy", it was either that or the game wouldn't run on consoles.
@@LavosYT Video card hardly explains lack of variety some mods even make the game run better. Base game Solitude is larger than Winterhold and runs fine several locations that can be said about load screen or not all suggesting lack of detail in certain areas is not game limits but a choice.
It's been ages since I checked on compatability but this and dawnstar are the only large cities I have bothered to mod because I refuse to go without open cities. This looks great, can't wait to start my mod list anew.
God, I'm still waiting for a more vanilla-soft city overhaul for Winterhold, like all of Arthmoor's small towns (Falkreath, Dawnstar, Dragon Bridge...)
To be fair this overhaul looks one of the closest to vanilla: the layout of the down doesn't change so much, the style of the stone buildings is a good mix between Solitude and Windhelm, and there are still some wood buildings like the vanilla ones.
@@albertorepetto2909 sure, it's one of the closest and it looks really well done. However I hate when in some overhaul they change the position of the buildings, it can cause problems with the IA.
its important to note that unlike those cities wintethold is older and has more prestige, hosting one of the most famous colleges of magic on tamriel it would make sense to be this detailed
So there’s an Unnoficial patch as a requirement for this mod for me, I’m on Xbox and I really want to use this mod but idk what unofficial patch is required

The frozen over fountain is a funny, nice touch
0:59 reminds me of the first "Knights Of The Old Republic" game. Jeremy Soule is an amazing composer.

They are Bugthesda for a reason.

@@khaz8460 Literally every developer prioritizes consoles over PC unless it's a PC-only game

I appreciate that Dark Souls references at 5:41
This music and overhaul is great
JPSteel turns it into a more unique village with an added castle in the mountain, while ClefJ turns it into a small little ruined fortress.
I'd wish clefj would upload their other mods on the se page.
I think this and jpsteel's version are the two most interesting overhauls ever.
Nice video Arctic, it's just what i needed. Thanks!
Wow! I might have to start a new play-through with this sometime soon. Absolutely incredible! Great video as always.
It’s too cold there. I never visit. But this mod makes me want to live there
You got Frostfall on or something?

Damm, beautiful overhaul,! Good finding!
What city overhaul would you say is your favorite?
Mine would probably be Holds the city overhaul.
@@ArcticScrolls +1
I like cities of north with jks skyrim
It's so beautiful
Only problem with this mod on the Xbox one is that frozen hearth is missing a bed and I don't know what the locked house is for.

hehe... there's imperial shields in the jarl's castle
Maybe? Some day in ESO get see winterhold the whole city
Great work!
It's a toss up between this and TGCoWH when overhauling Winterhold...
I wonder if Xbox series x allows more mods for Skyrim
Amazing overhaul for this town. The only shame is that the player house is so littlw that it does not has even option for adopted children.
Which first person camera are you using? The camera movement and head bobbing is really great to feel as the character
Head bobbing comes from a mod called RBEs Enhanced 1st Person Camera Bob
@@ArcticScrolls thanks!
I'm making my game look more medieval cause I want it to be more like the witcher.

Precious!
Wtf Tom why didn’t u put this part of the game😕
Patches, we need patches!
is this on Xbox one?
Great Mod!Any mods for Windhelm?
NOICE!!!
What tree mod are you using?
No one looks on this city right the wallS went all some of the road. Look at the rocks a long the way
Great, except that the ruins of wooden buildings wouldn’t still be left there 200 years after they got ruined.
I reckon its those wizards, practicing destruction spells and shit. Feckers probably committed arson or sum.
