Do you think this attachment would be able to function in a flower bed with roots running horizontally? My wish is to find a tool which can kind of hack like a 15 inch hatchet/axe into soil to both loosen flower bed soil as well as chop through 1/2 inch roots. I have the cultivator head which worked great on normal compacted yard soil but it is not designed to deal with roots. I guess you say in your review that if you hit something it shuts off. Might be my answer right there, a root would be something which might trip it into shutting down.
Thanks and good video. This isn’t a criticism, but simply more information. The edger seems to work very fast for you, but your soil must be really loose like sand. The soil in my area is predominantly heavy clay and therefore much more work for the edger. It tends to bounce around a lot due to the packed soil and I’d guess it takes 10 minutes or so to edge 5 ft of sidewalk. Combine that with the edger’s weight and awkward balance, and my arms are begging for relief in a short time.
Update: I don’t want to exaggerate, so I just edged 5 ft of sidewalk. I timed it - just a hair over 5 minutes. To my aching arms, it FELT like 10 minutes 😂
Is the edger loud? My mom does NOT like loud yard stuff (she hates leaf blowers) but our flower beds look like trash. I know it's my job to edge everything, not sure if I should just go with a manaul tool
It's very quiet for a yard tool. It's about as loud as an electric drill. For my Stihl gas weed eater, I use ear plugs because it's so loud but with the edger I've never even thought about wearing ear protection. So I think for a normal setting it's quiet but in a case where you need to be super quiet, you aren't going to beat a shovel LOL
It looks like you are hunching down, it would be nice if they allowed an extension to be more ergonomic. I'm sick of things being so small being just over 6 foot. It hurts my back. I don't get why their lawn mower has such good ergo's yet their other yard tools don't. Also you said 10amp then showed a 7.5amp in your picture lol Otherwise awesome review
Oh my bad on the amp hour, I have the mower with a 10 and a blower with the smaller battery and I swap them around. Thanks for the encouragement. I need to buy a strap still.... that would at least help
