    Very interesting . Would have loved to have heard of his experience of working with Mud on their " Use your imagination " album .
    A VERY full life 👍

    Great producer. How did you get those drum sounds on The Sweet's Ballroom Blitz. Fell in love with it as a boy and it's stood out all these years as a great production.

      Multiple layered, like they did with the vocals. Mike Leander used that technique earlier on with the Glitter Sound. A drummer can never play a song exactly the same, twice; that's how you achieve that specific sound. Mick Tucker was a great drummer btw!

    He seems such a nice chap! You can see how he'd get the best out of his musicians.

    Phil Wainman produced all the classic Sweet records. After Ballroom Blitz, Wainman/Chinn/Chapman Co-Produced "The Six Teens", Chinn/Chapman produced "Turn It Down" without Phil.

      Wainman had nothing to do with the sixteens. They also had plenty of classic records after he left too.

      Turn It Down is the one Sweet song I detest.

    Met Phil Wainman in forest hill studio lecture. He picked me out and gave his card.
    Went to meet him in Eutopia village. He could not believe the demo i played him and offered the band a publishing deal. Unfortunately the band had other ideas and did not act on it.
    Sorry o never got tp work with him he was a straight talking person whom was easy to get on with.
    This was around 1985.

      That sounds a lot like finding out that you've won the lottery, but lost the ticket ...

    I didn't want the story in all its anecdotage about Ballroom Blitz to end 37:00 in.. etc

    A little misstake there Phill, Little Willy was the first single the boy's played on the A side

    • @caryheuchert
      @caryheuchert 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really? I thought so, too... but, from what I’ve read, “Little Willy” was still recorded with session musicians, including Phil on drums.

    • @showstopperrob1097

      @@caryheuchert No, there was indeed a session with Phil on drums but, it didn't quiet worked out. So later the boys did a new one after a big dicussion ofcourse.

    • @caryheuchert
      @caryheuchert 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rob Damen - That’s good to know. I would rather believe it was The Sweet themselves playing on “Little Willy”. It sounds like them anyway.

      No- Sweet played on the re-recorded version for Top of the Pops, but the single was Phil's session guys. The B-side of course was Sweet.

      keinen werbeblocker an?
      ich kann das auch nicht verstehen was das alles mit der werbung soll.
      gerade die 'influencer' bestehen doch nur aus werbung. früher nannten wir das schleichwerbung.
      es existiert nur geldwert, in dem menschen arbeiten. arbeiten wir nicht schon genug?
      haben wir nicht langsam das recht auf eine neue form der werbung?
      das
      man sie sich aussucht!
      zB alles was neu ist oder es noch nicht gab: hier kommen sie auf die seite zur info- werbubg, wählen sie einen bereich der sie interessiert! zB !
      und andere werbung: produkte die sie kennen und regelmäßig nutzen,
      wählen sie hier großkonzern oder familienbetrieb, was wollen sie lieber unterstützen?
      unter-rubrik:
      lieferwege!
      gibt es da auch was regional ?
      ich gehe jede wette ein das 90% da meiner meinung sind.
      der internet-browser firefox hat oben rechts bei den drei strichen
      ein einstellungs- menü
      dort können sie firefox-interne werbe-blocker aktivieren. oder sie suchen
      bei ecosia (eine suchmaschine die bäume pflanzt wenn sie etwas im internet suchen!)
      nach anderen kostenlosen werbeblockern.
      DIE FIRMEN haben die videos nicht erstellt, sondern der jeweilige KANAL. wie dreist muß man sein um dort
      wie eine kranke hafennutte die dir einen tripper anhängen will, so mit seiner werbung zu stalken?

    They arnt the only band to say that,english and scottish combo

  • @judis6224
    @judis6224 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Les was always full of himself,thought he was better then Eric, since Eric had his first band witness,then keyhole,then the band with a thousand names who became pilet in 1974.so if course they wanted to play on their own records.paton wasn't qualified trying to keep up with the big boys,didn't happen.soon no english will be allowed in Scotland or any other country.
