I have not found a movie that speaks best of the death of a dream that Mulholland Drive. How it all depends on a moment , and how that moment perverts the rest of someone's existence . Everything changes when the sweet and bright existence (Betty ) meets with squalor ( Rita ) . It is an absolute masterpiece and has nothing to envy of St Boulevard.
Lynch might say that viewing a film is like being a detective, we follow the trail, finding more and more clues, gradually losing ourselves inside the mystery. Its also a very rich plot device for providing a journey for your central character. It's not only Lynch who knows this!
Jordan Johnston the easiest way to make a movie is to have random scenes no plot just different abstract scenes you don´t have to have a thought behind any of it and let the viewers make their own interpretation of it that´s what this movie is ..
fardean bari There's a plot to this film which most people agree on which makes perfect sense. Just because it's not immediately obvious doesn't mean it's not there. And i'm not just saying that to try seem smart or anything, there seriously is a plot - the first two thirds of the film is a dream, the last third is reality. Its narrative structure is like a grown up version of the Wizard of Oz.
Oh, well I guess you just didn't like it, maybe if you watch it a second time it will grow on you. It was the second I watched of him (the first being The Elephant Man) and it blew my mind. I'm still not done with his filmography though.
I didn't like this much the first time either, I preferred Lost Highway by far. But after doing some research on what the plot really meant I re-watched it and loved it. Now it's on par with Lost Highway for me.
on of the best movies I've ever seen
Hozifa Sheikh Waraq Amen to fucking that I fucking die for this movie!

So amazing.
How to end a trailer with perfection : 1min29s / 'Diane the car is waiting... you coming?'

Best mystery-horror movie ever!
0:32 Linda Scott - I've Told Every Little Star
Cool film.
I liked Lost Highway better, but Mulholland drive is still a great film in its own right.
I've Told Every Little Star by Linda Scott
