Just a general comment for any video, if you have audio from another source from your mic/etc. mixed with the video background music be sure to lower the background music mixed level when there is audio from conversation with ATC/you/etc. mixed in to give your actual audio priority. Otherwise it's hard to distinguish and in this case I think the background music was given higher audio level than your other audio in some areas of the video. Anyway, just an FYI!

Add a small amount of compression to the music track to limit the dynamic range too.

Better still, just dispense with the music all together. Just saying.

Looks like your door isn't completely closed. I use to have a car that would speak 'a door is ajar' if all the doors weren't closed, surprised the plane doesn't have that. lol

      Noticed that as well.
Not the end of the world if you are aware of it. Just don't take the belt off, you could have a bad day.

Hi Noel, your door wasn’t properly latched. I love your flying adventures and love that Cirrus. You should get a rating on the Cirrus jet I would love to see that taking you on fast adventures. Love your videos mate. YJ.

I noticed that gap of light getting through as well. He probably had it ajar prior to takeoff for ventilation. Fortunately, the slipstream won't allow it to open inflight without some force applied to it. Stuff happens. A good pre-takeoff checklist (and actually going through the motions on it) should prevent that. I'm not being critical about it since I've certainly discovered I missed a checklist item after takeoff, approach or landing after I should have checked it and verified it. Fortunately, it was just a learning experience and not something more serious.

Thank you so much for flying into my hometown! I have a story about the downtown airport. When I was growing up, my family had a friend who was a pilot. He offered to take me and my parents up in his Beechcraft Bonanza, which was hangared at the Downtown Airport. We all got in his plane and taxied to the runway, but then really bad weather hit, and he decided it wasn't safe to take off, so we taxied back to the hangar. I ws so disappointed, and it wasn't until many years later that I got to fly in a small plane.
One note about the video---the Downtown airport was much older than 1958. Also, the Shreveport Regional Airport was older than the 1960s (though major remodel/additions opened in 1971 and 1999).

Re the door- I've had the same on our G2 SR20. really have to slam the door closed! It even came open once taxiing down a very bumpy taxi way! Its no issue other than some wind noise in the cockpit but double check it after power checks. Great video, looks like you love flying the cirrus as much as me!

Noel, love the channel! You should take some flights up my way in Missouri. Our Ozark mountains are gorgeous and there are lots of little small towns to visit.
Lake of the Ozarks is an AWESOME little resort area perfect for families.
Of course, there’s Branson which is great for families as well and can be absolutely beautiful during spring and autumn, though I much prefer Lake of the Ozarks since I spent many summers there.
My brother is a former flight attendant for Delta and a private pilot and I’ve been interested in aviation since before I could walk. I can’t tell you how often my dad would take me to the watch lot at the end of the runway at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport where we’d watch the planes take off and land hours. We saw the Concorde land there once. Awesome stuff.

Enjoyed the video. I fly out of Shreveport Regional and enjoy the many surrounding airports. Rusty Williams is a neat little airport but not much to do when you get there. East Texas has many little airports near small towns that are worth the visit like KOCH in Nacogdoches. I flew my wife down there for lunch today. If you are ever back in Shreveport, KSHV or KDTN reach out and I'd love to take you out for lunch.

FYI in October on days 18 thru the 22nd there's a massive fair that happens in Franklinton LA (I think the nearest airport is 27R or 2R7 which is a 5 minute-ish drive from the fairgrounds) anyway it's worth flying out Friday because that night is when the concert starts. It's totally free entrance. It would be something fun for the family to check out Mr. Noel.

Hey Noel! I’ve been enjoying your long haul flight videos for a while and was very surprised to find you flying out of DWH - my home field. Looks like a great trip to Shreveport. Lots of other 1-2 hour flights from here that are a lot of fun - many with a crew car and good bbq. Looking forward to seeing more!

More likely with the ELT is that there is some aircraft sitting on the ground whose ELT has activated by mistake and they are trying to find its location.

    • @skyhawk_4526
      @skyhawk_4526 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes. I went through a similar situation where the tower was asking about it to other aircraft in their airspace. It turned out it was mine! I promise I didn't land so hard that I set it off, but I did joke about that at the time. I was able to reset it, but it soon went off again while I was taxiing. I got permission from ground to shut down the plane in the runup area and to exit the plane and to disable it since you had to access it from inside the baggage compartment. I can't remember what caused the activation, but when I got back to my home base, which was less than 50 miles away, maintenance troubleshot the issue and it never happened again.

Hey Noel, where do you stop for a cup of coffee in Shreveport? I recommend Rhino Coffee! They have a location in Downtown on Texas Street, they're one of my favorite coffee roasters in the world. I stop in every time I visit Shreveport.

Perhaps you missed from an older video when he moved to the USA that Noel's Instrument license from the UK was not transferable to the USA. So he has to start that all over again in the USA. So he is limited to VFR for the time being.

      To be clear
      - I’ve never been in a Cirrus (that sort of gap is normal in a PA28!)
      - looks like a good idea as was hot
      - not meant as a criticism just curious.
      - Remain envious of US flying despite gappy doors
      Thanks Noel
