Hearing you sing out "Hi everyooooooooone!" at the beginning of every video always makes me that much happier to hear it! This made me hungry again and looks so delicious!
Mandy is seriously the best. Excellent recipes andbgood explanation. I have watched a lot of cooking channels but Mandy's good teaching was what got me to try cooking Chinese food. Thanks Mandy.
I just made this tonight. It was great! My whole family enjoyed it. I made it in my Instant Pot and instead of boiling it for 2-3 hrs, I cooked it for 40 minutes. I did everything else the same, even browned the meat in the instant pot. So good. Thank you.
Your recipes are awesome and SOOOOO flavorful!!! You are by far my FAVORITE TH-cam cooking channel!! Thank you so much!!! And please, don’t ever leave!!!! Lol
I love your explanations and video content as you explain subtle technical aspects and techniques that provide me with more confidence in attempting the dish. As an example the visual memory of your deglazing the wok and adding it to the pot helps reinforce the approach.
I’m happy to see you use a wok with wok turner and Dutch oven. This recipe looks delicious especially with all those spices. Lamb is one of my favourite meat so I won’t bother to rinse it too much as I’m used to the taste of lamb. Thanks for this recipe it’s very much appreciated.

Made this recipe and it turned out incredible! It was the first Chinese style dish I cooked, so while it was cooking I was worried it would end up sweet due to the smell of the herbs, but it was savory and absolutely delicious. Three of my coworkers can vouch for it as well :)
I did this in August and it was SOO delicious. Wanted to make it again today and it was sooo hard to find the recipe again omg i looked through every video & finally found it! Saving this so i don't have to suffer again THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING RECIPE!
My family LOVED this recipe. Thank you!!! The soak did make the lamb taste milder, which I liked. I didn't add the Sichuan peppercorns because of the kids and used taucheo (bean paste) because that's what I had... It's our new lamb braise go to recipe.
Hi it looks Yummmmmy! Just love your channel and recipes you've never FAILED ME! My friends always look for the take out containers 🤣🤣🤣nope I made it thank you!
Lamb is pretty expensive in California too. I don't know why. Stores don't sell it as often as they used to, either. I love lamb. And I love your recipes.
They sell the best New Zealand Lamb here at Sams club. I will have to pick some up and try this. I love lamb! Could you please show us in a future video how you do your spring onion knots? Do you use two or one strand per knot? Thanks for all of your wonderful recipes ~♡~
I made this! It's so good but cooking time is long before the meat is tender. Thanks for sharing this recipe! Just a quick question. Doesn't the meat need to be blanched first? I find that many recipes will blanch meat with bones to remove the scums first. Just curious if mutton meat is different to other meats.
delicious recipe and thank you so much for uploading. I just have to correct you on one thing... this is not lamb.... it is mutton. the difference is that lamb come from a sheep up to one year old... mutton comes from a sheep over two years old, and that's why it has a strong flavour and needs to be soaked in water, whereas lamb doesn't. :)
It is a cast iron wok. I got it from China. I can't find this type of wok with the hammer mark outside of China. But, I get so many requests and I'm going to make this my first official product soon
Our lamb in Australia must be different, we have never soaked our lamb and I have never noticed any off-putting smell. Lamb mince makes particularly nice spaghetti bolognaise sauce.
Could you do a lamb/goat pilaf recipe? I've seen videos from northern China and Eastern Europe where it's apparently common place. It's not a thing here in the states but I'd love to try it, especially with goat, I love goat meat compared to lamb.
Looks delicious! I would like to try to cook it, but lamb is pretty rare in my town. What other meat option that I could use with this recipe? thank you in advance :)

Thanks, Tom, for the suggestion! I love using the IP.
The best thing for Mandy is that all of those dishes she taught are easy ! very easy to manage and follow. And, the results are always great! Keep up
As an Australian, I love that wonderful lamb aroma and powerful flavour!
Same for us kiwis. I reckon she's referring to mutton which has a stronger smell and flavor than lamb.I love both!
My Dad loved to cook stews and soups…..miss Dad. Mom was fantastic cook and could bake and sew…..
Just tried this recipe. Soaked the lamb over night. The lamb didn't have any gamyness flavor at all. This recipe is FANTASTIC. Thank you.
Your recipes are definitely 'souped up'. Now I want to try Ecuadorian lamb.

Hi
I’m from Trinidad and Tobago and this is very similar to how Caribbean people stew their meat, by caramelizing the sugar. Looks so delicious

You can also add some shaoxing wine or dry sherry to reduce the smell of the meat. It tastes really delicious. Happy cooking!

Hello. Can I cook the lamb in the pressure cooker first then put it in the stew? Lamb at my place takes a long time to cook.

I have Celiac disease. Would corn starch or rice flour work to coat the meat instead of a wheat flour?
🌸 looks so good 😋
