I have a Hispanic neighbor who took a 23 and me ancestry test and he was surprised to find that he has Filipino genes. He was like "How could that happen?" and I think we found the answer here.
@@FloranteAguilarGuitar I think maybe there were Mexican soldiers and traders who married Filipinos and vice versa. It's a small world. Thank you for your work in Music, I really appreciate it. It brings back memories of home! You're a cultural ambassador.
...it is always a delight to hear the fusion of melodies and words of two different cultures but somehow have similarities, creating that wonderful blend of music and harmony among people with common interests to create magical tunes...thanks maestro!
A treasure to find this kind of content on YT. I was always curious about the connection and intersection of these two wonderful cultures. I’m Fil-Am with Spanish roots. More please. 🥰
I am glad to see Ms.Charmaine Clamor again, I remember her doing a jazzy version of Dahil Sa Yo many years ago. Kudos to Senior Florante Aguilar for reaching out to our Mexican friends musically. I myself is a fan of Mexican music, specially Armando Manzanero's music, Thank you.
Beautiful music - would you happen to have an online course that teaches conventional Harana music (e.g., strumming and plucking patterns, commonly used chord progressions, etc.)? I would like to hopefully make a song for my wife reminiscent of a Harana melody.
We had a better relationship culturally with Mejicanos …I will always tell them that there are more Mexicans in the Philippines then than Spaniards; common Spaniards no nothing about the connection even the island itself…it could be that ‘looking down’ on Indio thing on race difference from Europe ethnocentrically speaking…its history education or the hate of other cultures thing y the reason this video serves wisely…Vamonos

That's interesting! Your neighbor's ancestors must have sailed in that ship many generations ago. Thanks for sharing!
