    Does this pass the fingernail test on steel/aluminum engravings? Like you can actually feel the engraved part has removed metal rather than just tinted it?

    Sorry if this question is redundant but have you tried hardened steel like a pocket knife? Kitchen knives can be kind of soft so like. Spyderco or something. Some of my knives hit 64-65 HRC so I wondered it it would work.
    Thanks. Great video.

    Thanks for the review. This seems to be a new product and there are very few quality videos out there. Considering that you engraved a bunch of metals, I should have no problem engraving vanadium tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, etc). Really considering this laser to engrave my tools at work and also come up with custom built tool cases with my CNC (foam cutting).

    • @ChrisPowellFSD
      @ChrisPowellFSD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea that shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve started engraving the various wrenches I have for different routers so I can keep track of which is which. I’ve found a lot of practical uses for it just in my shop so far.

      Those applications you mentioned, engraving tools and cutting foam for shadowing a toolbox, are what lead me to this video. Have you purchased an engraving machine for that purpose yet? Have you achieved worthy results? Would love to hear more, if so.

    Hello, Ihave a question
    At the end of every laser work on a logo or a text it has a weird finish on my machine, it makes stripes all over the work, it start first by filling perfectly the surface but only at the end, it will in a fraction of a second start to makes stripes all over the work.
    Do you have an idea where i could deactivate that parameter? Kind regards ^^

    I have an A5 PRO, I'm a professional cutler, I use the engraver to make engravings on my knives, but I have a problem.
    after removing the paint, the metal of the knife is not clean, before that I used a CO2 burner that left the place very clean and highlighted the black paint, do you know if there is any way to do this with the A5 PRO?

      @@ChrisPowellFSD The $5000 lasers are actually fiber lasers (and much higher actual laser power), which the Atomstack M4 is not. All the M4 and similar machines use "fiber" in their descriptions and it's flat out false advertising -- I guess that makes them "fibber lasers". The only connection to "fiber" is using the same wavelength.
