    I’m at 5,000 ft elevation. So that will decrease the velocity of the Magnum by 100-120 feet per second vs sea level. I have been able to get 27 foot pounds with the magnum using the 18.13 JSB but I wanted to use the same pellets for the comparison video.

    • @markclifford143
      @markclifford143 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does your elevation effect the velocity of the Arrows shots or just the magnum? I’m sorry if this is obvious, I’m unfamiliar with the effect of elevation on high pressure air vs air pressurized from the piston.

    • @ShootingGearReviews
      @ShootingGearReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@markclifford143 The altitude won’t affect a PCP gun like the arrow because it has a constant pressure inside the pre-charged cylinder. The brake barrel is essentially using the ambient air pressure to push the Pellet. When the gas ram or spring piston slams forward the air that it’s pushing is whatever the ambient pressure is inside the chamber at the back of the pellet. I hope that helps to explain it. This is really some thing that needs some sort of visual aid to demonstrate the mechanics. Perhaps I will have to make a video about it.

    • @markclifford143
      @markclifford143 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ShootingGearReviews That certainly answered my question, and yeah a visual aid would make it simpler but I follow what you’re saying. You’re encyclopedia-air-rifle for me, man, your videos have influenced a few of my investments as far as ammo, optics and rifles. Keep it up! Love that your boy’s following your footsteps.
      Btw, did you dispatch that rattler by your pellet trap?

    they both are kool but
    i like having somthing for once that has its own power source
    no air pumps no runing low on air...
    so i think i would lean towards that break barrel.

    • @manegrindshard
      @manegrindshard 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely the approach I took. I can Bring a break barrel anywhere and shoot as many times as I want as long as I have pellets and I don't have to worry about airing anything back up with pumps or compressors.

    • @JW-bw8nj
      @JW-bw8nj 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have both the Gamo Arrow and Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro (basically the single shot wood stock version on the magnum in this video), and I enjoy shooting the break barrel more. I can sit down and shoot pellet after pellet with the break barrel without having to take a break and pump the gun every 30-40 shots like I do the Arrow.

    Great review video Ben! (GAMO with the way break barrel rifles, especially MAGNUM versions, go through scopes PLEASE put open sights on all your break barrel rifles!!!) Ben, you are one of the most budget friendly and best regular guy Air rifle review channels with great content. Very much appreciated. On your comparison I'm liking the Arrow better so far for these reasons: Open sights, compact light weight. less pellet picky. The new Gen 3i loses point for: No open sights, 100 FPS less power than the Gen 2 version.

    IMO once a few pellets are thru magnum specially when its new, it becomes so dam accurate after those initial shots that sometimes im perplexed at my own skill. Somebody do try this theory of mine that before taking a group get the gun put thru 5-10 shots and then notice the accuracy afterwards.
    However very hold sensitive and trigger pull sensitive imo. If shooter is not consistent it will spray beyond 50 yards

    • @markclifford143

    I’ve noticed they drop from 25 to 50 yards with the magnum. Hopefully the new scope can help to where I don’t have to keep moving sights. I got the hawk vantage with the dots in the velocity and windage crosshairs. But yeah I’m Louisiana from 25 to 50 yards it dropped only 3-4 inches. But the grouping is amazing with the magnum.

    Another great video Ben. I have to say that I really like my Arrow that I received on Dec 6th. I never let it get down below the green/yellow line on the gauge and then top it off again, only takes a few pumps really. Love the 10x mag (have 2 need a couple more) and speed of cocking the Arrow vs the break barrel action. I've put 40 rounds through the Arrow before topping it off again. I've been shooting 21gr matched pellets mostly. I have a Leapers UTG 3-9X40 1" Hunter Scope, AO , 36-color Mil-dot coming next week. Anxious to get it mounted and dialed in. The arrow is super quiet unless you don't get the bolt closed 🙄then you'll hear it I found that out. I know there's a ton of time in both capturing footage and editing. Thanks for all your effort and opinions!

      I’m at 5,000 ft elevation. So that will decrease the velocity of the Magnum by 100-120 feet per second vs sea level. I have been able to get 27 foot pounds with the magnum using the 18.13 JSB but I wanted to use the same pellets for the comparison video.

      @@ShootingGearReviews understood question I have by you living in Arizona honest answer do you think that the magnum gen 2 or gen 3i is capable of medium size game up to say coyote?

      @@jibrilsaifulah8184 I would say no. Something like the Umarex Origin in .25 cal making around 50fpe would be a better choice and within same price range

    You need a .357 Rattler from #AirgunsofArizona for a photo op with that baby rattler. Love the critters on your property.

    On a lower altitude the magnum will be far more powerful.

    The problem is that you are a way better break barrel marksmen than most shooters.

    You see, with a break- over, you have no choice but to reset your position each time, hence, the dropped shot. No question, the PCP is better.

    Great that you still have snakes and other wildlife around, try preserve them, after all they are God's creatures too. Always like your reviews of budget friendly air rifles! It seems that Gamo have done away with the open sights for the Swarm Magnum Gen 3, I'd prefer then the Gen 2 over the Gen 3.
