    Thank you so much for this video! I had my dishwasher completely torn apart, checked the solenoid, sump inlet drain and I got a little bit too far down the rabbit hole wondering why the heck my dishwasher wasn't draining. Then I saw this stupid video and was so frustrated with myself but I am so glad that I saw this. Sometimes it's the simplest thing. Now I am unfortunately far too intimately acquainted with all the parts of my dishwasher, but hey, it drains and I don't have to hate the way people wash our dishes anymore.

    I was stoked when I realized this is the same dishwasher that I have, but apparently there's a different problem. Maintenance replaced the solenoid switch and it worked fine for a few days but again it's not draining. The motor works, there's nothing in the sump. When it stopped working I was doing a rinse cycle and I could smell something like electrical overheating (which is what previously happened) so I shut it off then. I'll be back with results if I find the answer.

    • @LexVance
      @LexVance  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They need to do the solenoid and the timer. We called GE and they said the timer stops advancing so it runs and runs and runs and fries the solenoid. So, do the timer along with the solenoid and that should fix it. Thank you so much for watching!

      @@LexVance Thank you for your speedy reply! I just finished watching your video on replacing the solenoid and timer! I feel so lucky to find the exact same GE dishwasher that I have. Hey Lex, this is what I got going on I have standing water from using dishwasher as dish rack to dry dishes. I looked in garbage disposal for that knock out piece but it's been knocked out.Washer seems to work fine minus it draining. When I rotate knob through clicks which are different settings it gets to one that i imagine is the drain setting it just humms. What steps do you recommend me taking and in what order? Will the screwdriver trick to the motor work in my situation or is that if nothing is working? Please any guidance would be really appreciated. I have a hotpoint hda2100h70bb.

    I had a rubber side piece clog my out flow. I am not understanding why dishwashers are built where things like that could even fit down in there. You would think they would have a screen that you could easily pop out and clean like you do for dish drains. And the rubber piece that was clogging it was from my dishwasher the side of the door, it was to cover a screw or a hole and help seal it

Filled up a quarter of the retention pond. That still needs to get fixed. One of our golf carts died. I fixed that today. I'm going to do some serious fishing tomorrow. Run through regular cycle. Repeat four times. Oh no! The pump motor may be bad. I'd need to be there for further instructions to see what's going on. 😭

    The resort I work at using GE dishwashers. We have several issues with the solenoid burning and locking up. Anyone else having the same issue?

      I haven't had that issue but my pal Rich who has a youtube channel as well has that problem. He has a video changing a melted one out. Thank you so much for watching Joe!

      I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔. You may have a bad solenoid. It's by the motor usually. Thank you so much for watching Rosa!

    Let's see... Do I want $65 labor to repair this dishwasher, or do I want $129 labor to replace it, plus get $20 to "dispose" of the stuck dishwasher and then refurb it?
    Or... Do I want to be an apartment tech and do it for $16?

      @@LexVance - Hey buddy.
      Thought you'd enjoy looking at a residential rent home work order, and my email with the tenant and property manager.
      I do almost everything with texts or email to facilitate documentation and a time stamp.
      As you can see, it's going to be a very profitable day's work for me.
      Cheers,
      Tom
