One more route which saves money: Do a PhD, then go to industry. PhD programs often fully fund their students (so you get a small stipend to live on, and you don't pay any tuition). By contrast, MA programs are typically cash cows. Of course, the PhD takes longer and is more difficult both to get in and to complete. But you'll also be more qualified. would you recommend doing a phd if you are already in the industry? I'm working in BI in government right now and I'm not sure if its worth it doing a phd if I want to advance in the industry
Interesting comment. Where would you suggest to enrol for an affordable online PhD in BE? I have an undergrad. BA Econ. degree and grad degree MBA Intl. Econ.
@@StephanieHughesDesign I don't know any online PhD programs. I know that Stanford, Harvard, MIT, etc., are fully funded, i.e., there's no affordability question there. The challenge is to get in, of course.
Hey Pete! Love your channel. Another Rook route - working in market research which enables you to refine essential research skills, and there is a growning demand for market/social researchers to explain the intention-action gap and use innovative methodologies to explore unconscious mechanisms. I've recently made the jump from this field into an in-house BeSci role and there's a lot of similarity grounded in psychology and statistics. Thanks for all the awesome BeSci content!
Good to get this information. As I am also from marketing and social research background since more than 10 years and planning to shift to behaviour science field but could not field the way ahead. Would you explain more on intention-action gap and use of innovative methodologies to explore unconscious mechanisms?
Excellent insights, Pete! Thanks so much. I haven’t studied behavioral science per se at my university and masters, but I did had classes on sociology, anthropology, and psychology. Later on I got to work in marketing, branding, customer care and communications. Now, as a communicator, I am very interested in what could be a starting point for me to learn more about behavioral science and leverage that in a potential comms & change management role. I love your youtube channel and I wish you the best in growing this platform. Thanks for the good content.
Hi, I wanted some help regarding this, I have BSc in psychology and have been working as a behavioural therapist with children who have autism for 12years. The field I am currently in is Applied Behaviour Analysis, where I am constantly analysing the behaviours of the individuals I teach and modifying methods to change their behavioural response. What route do you suggest would be best to take in my situation. Would I need to do a masters to get a role in behavioural science?
Sounds like you’re perfectly set up for a “Knight” route. You’ve got 12 years experience in the field of applied behavior analysis… perhaps looking into masters programs would help present an opportunity to make the shift? You clearly have experience and education on your side! If I was you, I’d look into Masters programs, and network through the university and professors to explore different opportunities.
Hey Pete, Its always very informative and good to see your work through your videos. I infact came across your channel while looking for various Behavioral science courses and thought of dropping by to get some thoughts. I have been in the masters game looking for suitable courses for almost a year now and have a significant amount of exp. as a Public health design consultant for over 8yrs now. I wanted to check with you and see if I will be eligible for a masters program in Beh. Sceince, something which really interests me and what are the job prospects if I have to do it from the UK. Will really appreciate a response ! Thanks
Hey Pete I love u r videos man Iam doing my pharm.d currently in India and passionate about behaviour economics. Is really worth to do online course in BE And also what is the future prospects of BE/BS in pharma industry? Your reply means a lot
An online course is great for learning, but I'm not sure how much credit it carries when applying for a job. May be worth it just to learn more though.
Interesting information 📝 Bro i have this problem as highly sensitive person frm many yrs of - getting stuck in uncertainty in absence of clarity or proper guidance & analysis paralysis leading to inaction which leaves me many a times in defeat or trying to do many things at once.. how to permanently get rid of this habit & embrace the systems of boring but essential work to start big achievements of life..
Hi Pete, very informative videos. Do have mentorship program? Ism completing masters in psychology also reading behavioural science books. Also working as UX designer and strategist. I want to better my skills.

It's hilarious you keep mentioning getting a 'masters' as if that's some sort of even marginal achievement in a 'science' in 2023... I wonder why....
