    Beckett is based for ranking the 100D in S tier. The 95D is wielded by Stan the Man, but the 100D is 5 more Ds than the racket not any mere mortal can handle and therefore it's GOATed.

      97h or equivalent no…Stan? But yeah the 100D is special, just a tad sluggish through the air.

    I like that you took fun into account. Most of us play to enjoy the game even if we care about results. A racket with good feel and which is fun to play with should indeed gain points for it.

    This will be an unpopular opinion but as someone who used to use a pure aero 100 I’ve switched to the pure drive 100 and I prefer it simply because you can hit the ball flat and hit with even more power than the pure aero. I love the pure drive so in my opinion the pure drive is alive and well and still going 😂

      A few months ago when I was looking to buy a 100sq in racquet comments like that made me go for the Pure Drive since my game is not *that* spinny and it was absolutely the right choice. I love playing with it and I love both going for flatter shots or going for top spin heavy shots and having the frame back me either way. I quite like the feel of the racquet at the net too, coming from an old six one 95 I was expecting to hate it and no. Also the power on serves is so nice.
      I do agree it's far from the days when you had GS winners like Roddick and Clijsters endorsing it and using it (well Kim still actively endorses it lol) and that's kind of lacking. I have also heard Beckett and others call it a pure dad....and as a dad, yeah I don't care about that lol.

      @@PeterNordstrom-rd3if I'm a pure drive user since a long time now, and my definitive set up is hyper-G soft1.25 at around 22-23kg. Not too powerful, not too harsh, excellent access to spin, good durability, great depth control.
      Pure drive (with this set up) : easy depth and power, forgiving and at the same time 100% predictable. Stiff feel though

    Interesting to see that Beckett's ranking of the fx500 and Wilson Shift are the exact opposite to Rackets & Runners tier list. It does show how subjective it all is.
    In saying that, it would be interesting to do tier lists by play style/player type. I think tier list by racquet head size can bring different types of racquets which aren't really competing for the same types of players. Just a thought.

    Hey Beckett. Slightly off topic from this video.. what racket would you recommend for a 4.0 all court player with flat strokes; someone who values feel, precision and maneuverability?
    Would pro staff v14 be good?

      I'm also a percept-curious vcore 98 user. I can't fault the vcore at all, it does everything very well. I just want a more forgiving head size with a similar profile and I think the vcore 100 might lean too much in the power direction.

I am able to rip through a ball with the percept and it would still keep it in the court, whether I hit it with spin or flat. touch and volleys and slices are a gem and I felt godly with this racket. I feel light on my feet and making quick direction changes from fore to backhand is amazing. I may add a leather grip to stablize the handle further but for my all court play style its out played my strike 100 gen 3. Im thinking to make the switch. This is all extremely personal. Trust me, Nadal would not prefer to play with gravity pro, and Rublev would not prefer to play with origin . Analyse what type of game style you have, and choose a racquet that can help you with this game style. I have a full western grip and was playing with a pure aero 98. I tried a pure aero Rafa 290 just for fun , and surprisingly it was an immediate switch for me. Aero Rafa is surprisingly stable for it's weight, it is just a little less powerfull than the 98 , but gave me a much deeper and more consistent stroke. It might be the other way around for you, depending on what game style you have. Try several options. The tennis court will let you know very clearly.

    Hey Beckett - I'm a beginner (probably 2.0-2.5) and was recommended a Blade 98 by the local shop a few months back. I didn't know any better and heard it's a bit unforgiving for a newbie. Worth transitioning to something like the PD100, EZ100? Thanks

    • @TheMergeBuff45
      @TheMergeBuff45 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The Pure Drive 100 and Ezone 100 are both fantastic for beginners. Start off with one of them and then switch to another racket when you become a better player. You could even keep using them when you become better. It’s all really subjective. I’m a Blade 98 16x19 V9 user myself and I would say whilst it’s not as unforgiving as some people say, it’s certainly not a power-oriented stick. I would say the Blade is best for people 4.0 and above (maybe a high level 3.5), but I would recommend demoing the Pure Drive 100 or Ezone 100. I would say the Ezone has slightly more feel, but the Pure Drive has slightly more power due to a higher swingweight. Best of luck with your development. 👍🙂

    • @mcmastermouss
      @mcmastermouss 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I woudn't recommand the blade, even the 100, to a beginner... poor advice you got ! I use the PD and you can't go wrong with it, although it might feel very different at first, but it will make you instantly play better. You should even consider the Pure drive team, the lighter version of it, which might be even easier. Both won't limit you in your journey.

    • @TennCom
      @TennCom  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ivanromero4936 I see your point. It is actually very difficult, if not impossible, it objectively rate the playability of a racquet when I am the only testing it. For example, I found the Gravity MP to be too soft for its weight class and headsize, leading to poor stability against big hitters and an unpredictable flex which launches balls inconsistently. However, I could be totally wrong. Maybe I only feel this way because I'm so used to stiff racquets. Maybe I feel this way because I'm used to heavy racquets which lead to me mistiming the ball. The wrist pain I had was definitely due to a timing issue. I would consider that a purely subjective ranking, because my body was unable to gel with the racquet. So it's not the racquet's fault, it's my fault. With only 1 tester, "objective" rankings are, by definition, impossible.

    Cool factor = you don't suck on court, your strokes are solid, you don't spray like an unneutered cat, you win. Who cares about paint jobs, looks or endorsements. The worst is when someone walks on court with a Rafa or Fed and they sucka**.

      IMO cool factor means you had fun on court. Winning isn't everything, especially for those of us who are playing recreationally.

      LOL. That's because unlike me, you don't ALWAYS lose! I'm the same type of person that walks on stage with the coolest guitar that's not even tuned.

    “Casper Ruud is boring” is such an outdated gimmick. Being a grinder, fighting like crazy and hitting bomb forehand’s with insane RPM. Ridiculous how it’s become this tennis bezzerwizzer gimmick to hate on Casper.

    endorsement doesn't mean anything, most of them are pro stocks and such you cant compare with retail/stock for as most of us buy. The only thing that matters is how it plays, not how 'popular it is among pro's' cause it's an unlogic comparison

    S tier tier list. Curious. 100 square inch spin frame called the VCore 100 is for 3.5 dudes. 100 square inch spin frame called the PA Rafa isn't. What's your take on the difference, outside of obvious endorsement differential - but I'd argue Rybakina is cool.

      I don't think that the VC100 is a "3.5 racquet," rather, I think it will appeal to the crowd who enjoys spin-maxing but suffers from TE, which is generally a male 3.5-4.0 player. Of course that's anecdotal evidence since I'm drawing on my experience with the consultations and in my DM's. The detractor with the Rafa is the stiffness and high SW, two things that audience typically doesn't like.
