can someone explain how that racket motion produces backspin? does he sweep under the ball?
@@tchittesh yes, imagine the reverse pendulum serve motion. I think that's essentially the same motion but much bigger.
I'm so confused how that shot could have backspin on it. Can someone explain to a layman like myself please?
@@stephen129 Its actually moreso sidespin. Sidespin can sometimes act like backspin. It's because heavy sidespin has little forward energy. So imagine you hold your racket flat against the ball, the ball will only go a little forward and more to the side. Anton did heavy sidespin and mikka didn't manage to overcome the spin (put enough forward energy into the ball). If it was actual backspin the ball would have gone more down from Mikkas racket and also Antons contact point would have been much different. If you are still confused just let someone serve heavy sidespin and just hold your racket against it.

The Challenge: play the so-called carousel. Rules: several people run around the table and hit the ball. For half the table, one person hits the ball only once. When someone serves, he always stands on the right side and the one who receives the serve also stands on the right side and the participants run around the table counterclockwise (when serving, the ball must cross the center line). The side on which there are more people than the other , serves (when there are the same number of people on both sides, it doesn’t matter who serves). When a person makes a mistake, that is, he either does not hit the ball or something like that, he is out and will play in the next round. when only two people remain, they play 1 on 1 until 10 points. Wow, amazing match, but good to know that Pongfinity can hold their ground against top players (playing in a relaxe way), good rallies there, great to watch, very entertaining.
I don't have the intention to downplay their level but this is obviously a show. If any of the pros would play a serious match against them they would struggle to get any points. Mikkaa played 5th division in Germany and lost as many games as he won. The high amateur level they have is incomparable to world elite.
@@Sepplayz I know, that's why I said "in a relaxed way". What I meant is that even when they were having fun, the pongfinity players managed to stay in some of the forehand to forehand rallies for some shots and also surprise the pro players with some good points.
